The televised announcement showed over a dozen members of the governor's staff as well as other state officials, the only black person on the stage was Senator Tim Scott (in a state with over 25% black population). As an aside, I'm pretty sure the gov misspoke when he called Ms Lindsey "irresistable" (but it's possible they were extra close "friends"). Quote
