I just downloaded the Grab app to ease travel in the Big Mango. This morning I wanted to travel from my condo in Ploenchit to Shangri-la for some nice dim sum. The app quoted 293 baht. Instead I went down to the street and literally grabbed a metered taxi. Even with a little detour down Silom it only came to 79 baht.

I was just there in Thailand last October. Had a great time in Chiang Mai, a lot of fun in Phuket, a great time in Bangkok and fun filled days and nights in Pattaya! I had plans to return in April and stay till mid May. Today I sent notice to my manager to cancel my vacation. April is approaching far to fast and I feel as if I was just there and I'm not in the mood to return just yet. Walking home from Silom Complex through Soi Sala Daeng, I noticed the soi blocked by police and electricity company cars and several utility poles broken, resulting in part of the soi being without electricity. The center of the accident seems to be at Senso, with structural damage to upper floors. As far as I can judge, it will take days until all damage is repaired and everywhere has electricity and data connection again.

A few weeks ago I had booked via the Hotelcom app to stay at the BBB Inn . It described itself as a Gay hotel right among the action. To cut a long story short , on arriving they didn't have my booking in their system. I decided not to stay and I notified the hotel app and they refunded my money. I never do see any reviews of the BBB Inn unlike other gay only hotels/ guesthouse.
