Gay Koh Samui

  1. Started by aaroninatl,

I have arrived on the island. After 2 weeks in Bangkok, this is quite the change of pace. To be 100% honest, I'm not quite feeling Koh Samui yet. The first weird vibe was when I got to my gate at the airport. It felt like I was tricked and being flown back to the US. Everyone was pasty white. Not an Asian in sight. I don't wanna sound racist, but I don't wanna see the albinos. My buddy thinks it's The White Lotus effect. I'll admit I sat through every episode of that show and loved it... but I don't think it influenced my decision to come to Thailand. After arriving, it felt like Koh Samui is Thailand's answer to Santa Marta or Cartagena in Colombia. Poor neighborhoods …

***Ark Hotel & Bar*** It's establishment is locate in the heart of Chaweng beach one of the most popular place on the island. From there you can find everything you will need from attraction to the hot tropical weather and shiny sun, be careful to wear hat on the when the sun is out since you're on the island it will be affecting your head, like it happened to me. I had this terrible sun burn on the top of my head, I did not feel so good for a couple days but after it was all rite, me and my boy decided that because I did not feel so good that we where gone a stay at the hotel and enjoy our time around the pool under the shade, this was probably one of best idea that…

From Khaosod English KOH SAMUI — A demolition order for 19 luxury villas from two major projects on Koh Samui has been ignored. Recent inspections have revealed that the operators continue to illegally rent out the villas to tourists on a daily and monthly basis, raking in hundreds of thousands of baht. On September 18, more than 50 government officials from central and local authorities, led by Pol. Col. Dusit Kasornkaew, head of the Task Force to Resolve State Land Grabbing and Natural Resource Destruction, inspected luxury villa projects on hilltops in Lamai Subdistrict, Maret District (11 villas) and Khun Hmanang Mountain, Bo Phut Subdistrict (8 villas). …

  4. He says the departure time is 2 pm. So that means it arrives Koh Samui 12 noon the next day. Sounds convenient for check-in into hotels on the island. While trawling Tumblr I tripped over this: https://gaykohsamuithailand.tumblr.com/ Mostly it seems to be advertising "Emerald Green Mens Club" but there's some eye candy (not all Thai) too. Not sure where the Parthenon fits in, though. For an overview see https://gaykohsamuithailand.tumblr.com/archive Disclaimer: I have had no dealings with the listed businesses, so this is neither a recommendation nor the opposite.

Koh Samui's chronic water shortage Text story includes a video. Doesn't sound like a seasonal problem, but something that will get worse as El Nino bites next year. 5-star hotels may be able to buy groundwater from private extraction companies (for now), but prices go up and that leaves smaller businesses short of water. Imagine getting a massage and being told there is no shower! Direct link to video

From The Nation As many as 23 hotels in Koh Samui have been proposed as alternative local state quarantine (ALSQ) sites and most of them are expected to pass the grade, the tourism sector said. From Bangkok Post Hoteliers in Koh Samui are suffering from lower numbers of tourists. The occupancy rate on the island during the final quarter this year, as of Dec 20, has plunged to 30% from 50% in the same period of 2018, said Vorasit Pongkumpunt, president of the Tourism Association of Koh Samui. During the last two weeks of December, the occupancy rate should rise to 90%, putting it at 50% average for the year. He attributed the low figures to the strong baht and trade war, as major markets such as the Chinese flock to cheaper beach destinations in Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. The occupancy rate for next year's first quarter in Sa…
