  1. I realize times change and a lot of folks are "posting" their lives on various social media but I am not one of those and most of the people I do business with don't appreciate their privacy being invaded. I understand this waiter telling his friends or even showing a few of them a purloined photo but posting same is beyond the pale.

I would not have lasted two minutes in corporate aviation if I did something like that. I appreciate my own privacy and try to respect the privacy of others. We see a lot of the rich, famous and powerful in the course of the business of aviation and I try to leave them to as much of a normal life as I possibly can. I don't get paid to act that way. I believe it is the right thing to do.

    Best regards,

    RA1

I agree. The lack of respect or concern for privacy in this day and age, especially with the younger generation is unbelievable to me. It is my understanding that the facebook picture did show the last 4 digits of his credit card number, the type of credit card used not to mention how much money he spent and that he was at the restaurant and when, due to the time stamp.

I am sure the waiter didn't even think twice about posting the receipt and actually thought he was paying Peyton a compliment about being a generous person.

  2. Unlike many of my gay friends I am a big sports fan and I find the NCAA College Basketball Tournament (March Madness) to be the ultimate in sporting events. Of Course I have to be rooting for Kentucky to win it all this year even if I do dislike the coach. The teams and brackets are selected Sunday.

So any other College hoops fans looking forward to the Madness and who do you favor to win?

    Let the Madness begin.

  3. I bought some oreo's in honor of it's birthday and ate the whole bag by myself in 2 days.I stepped on the scales this morning and noticed I had gained 2 pounds, hummmm.

When I traveled a lot I found Oreo's and Pringles to be a universal snack around the world. The guys in Thailand and South America always seemed to enjoy that I aways had both in my hotel room.

  4. I don't know how many remember the old TV series from the 70's "Love Boat" but I think I watched it every week back then with all it's cheesy story lines and stupid jokes.

Well sadly the Boat itself is headed to the scrap heap. The end of another era.

    http://www.eonline.com/news/mayday_mayday_love_boat_cruise_ship/300010?cmpid=rss-000000-rssfeed-365-topstories&utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=rss_topstories

Geesh now I'll have The Love Boat theme song stuck in my head all day.

  5. NYC's first all gay hotel is finally open for business. Looks interesting.

Interesting especially since in my town of approx 1 millon people in the middle of the country, a Gay 55 room Bouquet Hotel is also under construction, actually a remodeled old building, a few blocks from the Gay Clubs.

  6. I don't, and I don't see why the news is carrying his opinions on it. He's a washed up actor- why would his opinions matter to anyone? That's why I am not quoting them!

Not really "washed up" as you say. He has been making religious movies, very successfully for several years. There is a huge market for that type of film that appeals to a select audience. Remember there is a large religious population in the USA and other countries. My mother actually has 2 of his DVD's about the end of the world as mentioned in the Book of Revelation of the bible. I never watched it but my mother seem to like it a lot to have actually bought the things.

  7. Horrible news and simply tragic. A great voice lost.

I remember her song "I want to dance with somebody" being so popular in the Clubs when I really first started going out.

I am sure the Grammy Awards tomorrow night will change a bit now with her passing.

  8. I just recently saw The Iron Lady with Meryl Strep and J Edgar with Leonardo Decaprio. Both have done poorly at the Box office but I enjoyed them both because I enjoy history. Sadly these types of movies are not popular in the age of teenage vampires and comic book movies.

As for J Edgar I found out that young people don't even know who he is. I was out at a bar a month or so ago with some young friends and mentioned the Movie. One of the guys, who just graduated from the University with 2 degrees said "what is it about?" I said it is about J Edgar Hoover from history. He says, oh he was the President during the depression wasn't he? I busted out laughing and said no he was the FBI Director for decades under multiple Presidents and had a somewhat checkered life. He says "Oh". None of the 20 somethings in the crowd had a clue who J Edgar was. Oh well they are all cute and great eye candy so history doesn't have to be their strong suit. Plus Mr 2 degree Graduate lets me play with his hot chest after he takes his shirt off in the bar after a few drinks.

  9. Which was your favorite?

There was only one commercial I saw that had me busting out laughing for several minutes. It was a Doritos ad with a Great Dane and his owner. The owner is doing lawn work and looks over as the dog buries a small collar and tags under a tree, then pans to a missing Cat poster on a telephone pole. The Great Dane then gives is owner a bag of Doritos with a note to keep quiet, bribing him. It was hilarious.

  10. Reba McEntire is making a comeback.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has ordered "Malibu Country," a sitcom pilot written by and starring the country music legend. The show, if picked up, would follow McEntire as a woman who moves her children away from her cheating husband in Nashville and seeks to revive her singing career in the very different climes of Malibu.

"Malibu Country" would also mark McEntire's first full-time foray into TV since her show "Reba" ended in 2007. That show ran for six seasons on The WB and The CW networks. McEntire has since made appearances in the short-lived series "Better With You" and "Working Class."

This will make my 76 year old mother extremely happy. And me too because maybe I won't have to watch so many Reba reruns on whatever cable channel she constantly seems to find them on when I visit her.

  11. Who knows why, since it is not literally true.

Because the railroads from Chicago freight and auto/truck traffic from Chicago and Midwest travel use to go through Indy to get to the ports in the South and also Florida. Then most trains, freight, autos/trucks heading West from New York and New England travel through Indy going West. The freight crosses North/South - East/West in Indianapolis.

  12. Yes, I have a strong belief in Jesus Christ, though I have multiple problems with most organized religion. It is important to me to try to pray on a daily basis and I have found comfort in that many times throughout my life. Most of my family are Baptist but my father's mother was Mormon.

As for religion I just saw some interesting facts about the Mormon religion yesterday. Since Romney is Mormon that religion is more in the news lately. Mormon's have the highest per-capita income of any organized religious group in the USA. They have a very low rate of alcoholism and drug abuse compared to most Americans and have a very low rate of incareration in jails and prisons as a group.

  13. Though not a Hoosier my home as a child and until I was 18, was less than 1/2 mile from the Ohio River and the hills I looked at everyday from my front yard were the knobs of Southern Indiana. As an adult I lived less than 2 miles from the bridge and did alot of my shopping and visited restaurants in Southern Indiana. I also had an office in Indianapolis for about 10 years and was there in a hotel almost on a weekly basis. I always enjoyed Indy and the Unicorn Club there was a weekly hangout for me for years. I also attended a few Colts football games there.

  14. While watching the Republicans does everyone have such short memories that they forgot about the Obama/Hillary bitch fest 4 years ago. The 3am phone call commercial, the fight over Florida delegates that the DNC took away from Hillary. But yet they united for November as I expect the Republicans will as well. And all the debates and mud slinging really just get them more hardened and prepared for whoever fights Obama in November. Sort of like a very good hard practice before the big game. I think the process is actually helping prepare the Republicans for the Big fight.

  15. Just did my taxes today and found out that I pay a higher percentage of taxes than Mitt does.

Like comparing apples and oranges. In this country you are taxed at approximately 35% on a working salary. But you are only taxed at 15% if you make your money from investments, Capital Gains. This is the way our tax laws are written. So if you have a salary you pay 35%,minus deductions on that amount but then would only pay 15% on any interest income, stocks, Bonds, etc... Romney had NO salary income, all his money comes from investments. He followed the tax laws.

  16. I found this nifty online calculator. Basically you put in your income and it will give you the time it takes Mitt to earn what you do in a year. It also will let you know how many years it will take for you to earn what Mitt does in one year

    http://www.slate.com/articles/business/moneybox/2012/01/romney_income_calculator_how_much_does_mitt_make_how_long_would_it_take_him_to_earn_your_salary_.html

I voted for Kerry for President and he was rich and his wealth did not include his wife's money. If you remember they file taxes seperately and she refused to release her returns, she is heir to the Heinz ketchup fortune from her previous late husband. If you added Kerry's income to his wife's then their household income far exceeds Romney from what I understand. Yet Slate did not have a Kerry online calculator. Hypocrisy much I think.

Most Americans want to be rich, that is why so many play the lottery every week. As for Romney's money, I say good for him. Having money doesn't mean anything to me when deciding who to vote for.

  17. I cannot count the times I have driven that portion of I-75 on numerous road trips to Florida over the years. Just last May I traveled that road and there were numerous field fires and smoke on the highway then. Thankfully I traveled it during the day and without Fog mixed with the fire smoke. It is such a Florida gateway for tourist traveling from the North the victims are probably from numerous states.

  18. I think the real firestorm is because she states she "chose" to be Gay. This is something that Gay people have been fighting forever it seems. Her comments just add ammo to all those that say being Gay is a life style and that it is a choice. Especially the religious arguements made by so many and other anti-gay advocates. She mentioned not labeling herself as Bi because many gay people's negatives related to the term but instead says she chooses to be Gay. I think that many Gays have negatives about Bisexuals because of that very reason. Being Bi means you can choose to be with the opposite sex and be content therefore blowing the "I was born Gay" arguement up in many Gay people's eyes.

  19. Great story, thanks for sharing it. Glad you were able to help the guy out. I'm sure it will come back to you in some form one day. I think alot of guys seem to not do too well on F4F, saw one break down and cry once. He disappeared from the site shortly thereafter.
