  1. You can definitely go the etesca to buy a SIM card. I think I paid 30 usd plus charging. It was activated a couple of hours later, with only 3G. It was slow but sufficient for Grindr. Emails with attachment can be sent after milling a bit. Facebook about the same.
  2. In more and more hotels, you would have access point but you need to use the scratch card. You can rent a 3G/4G SIM card, which costs about 10 usd per day before pandemic. If you are staying in a casa, you can talk to the owner to see if he or she can lent you a SIM card so you can charge and use the 3G/4G. During my last trip before the pandemic, they were rolling out 4G but only invite frequent 3G users to try it.
  3. I do see very cheap redemption tickets from NYC to HAV on AA.
  4. If I understood well, these rules are only for ‘American Person’ right? For a foreigner who has no income in the US, am I concerned?
  5. Do you think I should let a favelado spend the night with me? I didn’t book for two also, partly, to force myself to be vigilant.
  6. I actually didn’t enjoy Med that much. I found the city dirty and chaotic.
  7. I chose Cali for that. To me, that’s where the hung Colombians are. I do have higher expectations on the Brazilians, especially on the Cariocas.
  8. In Rio, I did get a 10 nights rate with Accor. In SP, my status gets me second guest for free anyway. If I understood well, SP guys are more next door type who might want to spend the night, right? Rio is more fuck & go?
  9. I’m not sure I’ll frequent a lot the saunas. Of course I’ll do a tour or two, but mostly I might just Grindr surf. Do you guys think I should book the hotel rooms for two? On one hand, I feel kinda stupid to book a room for two when I have no one in view. On the other hand, I do enjoy overnight sex. I don’t know how willing guys are to spend the night with me. For the moment I have Novotel in Rio Copacabana and Intercontinental in SP.
  10. Cali: 18-28 Juin Bogota: 28 Juin -03 July Rio: 04-24 July SP: 24 July - 10 August My JFK-CLO and BOG-GIG flights are both with Avianca in economy L. For some reason, business is not on sale and with L fare I can choose biz seats. They are narrow bodies so I don’t expect too much. Let’s wait and see if I get bumped back to Y seats. 20 days in Rio and 17 in SP seem pretty long. But it’s my first time, so I want to pace myself gently. Maybe I’ll add a stopover in between. Any suggestions? Better avoid long flights within Brazil. Bus trip preferred. Thx.
  11. A friend who just arrived in Havana told me that things are actually better now. In terms of food shortage and prices, it’s more or less back to pre-pandemic and pre-currency-fusion time. No test nor check at the airport. No quarantine upon arrival. The black exchange rate goes by 100 CUP per USD. He doesn’t cruise so no info on boys.
  12. I know it’s not in republica but I think someone mentioned Intercontinental. Anyone knows about their visitor policies?
  13. Depends. A330s are acceptable. B787s are one of the best in Americas. The rest are not so worthy. that said, I noticed something weird recently. They streamlined their classes to xs s m l xl and xxl some time ago and xl xxl are international biz class. But for some reason, my upcoming jfk-bog and big-gig are both only up to L on A320s. I did buy L class. And I could choose the two front rows , which are 2-2 instead of 3-3. I chose 2K in both cases. Did they deleted biz completely from their inventory on narrow bodies? Try on Avianca website.
  14. I think it would still be easier and it would be guaranteed. More importantly, my great regret and frustration of my previous trip in SD was not be able to try local hungs. I had Venezuelans, Colombians, and something else I forgot. For very long time I actually decided not to visit SD again as my impression on the Dominicans was very much stereotypes of ‘affluent fatties’, typically local clients of Bluemall, which is adjacent to Intercon. Then here in the forum I was inspired by several members regularly visiting SD and they all seem to recommend Manny’s service. Personally after all this, I think I’ll skip it. Or at least skip him. I’m against arbitrary pricing and he didn’t strike me as neither willing nor helpful. Just my impression.
  15. It was all Grindr. I didn’t pay them but I did bring them to coffees and meals. Intercontinental was cool with it. I booked for two persons and they always allowed my guests to access the room and the club lounge. I’m fluent in Spanish and I did feel very safe with the guys I met. Gut feeling I guess.
  16. I have. But I didn’t use any middlemen at that time. I was not aware of them. I think I posted it somewhere here already. I was staying in the wrong area, intercontinental to be precise, where locals were mostly affluent fatties. I went twice to the historical center without finding anyone. I think I’m quite handicapped in noticing or cruising guys in public places. That’s why I’m very interested in Manny’s service. All that said, I had a gorgeous Venezuelan hung that I met online staying with me most of the nights so maybe I was not desperate enough to venture too much either.
  17. Got it. Thx. So it’s established that Manny did raise his rate significantly and what I was quoted reflects his new rate.
  18. Did you pay more the first time? Or it’s a newly adopted practice?
  19. Completely agreed. In that case, it’s worth communicating this differentiated pricing to all fellow members here so the first time customers won’t have the illusion over the ‘cheap’ regulars rate and won’t feel scammed when they don’t get it. It’s all about getting the info right.
  20. Guys guys, please! Let’s not point fingers at each other. Scammer or not, overcharging or not, these are subjective judgments. On the contrary, exercised pricing and its consistency, those are objective matters. We are all mature enough to know what’s the best for ourselves.
  21. Any contacts of Narciszo’s? Can one just show up like that?
  22. Thank you. I’m sure his writing has its merits. I just never had the patience to read it through. I’m looking for other kind of information here.
  23. Am I mistaken? I always thought the meaning of this forum is to share information and experiences. I respect people who want to keep certain things to themselves but I appreciate much more those who share hardcore info. No offense but I tend to skip philosophical discussion and psychological analysis here. They get me bored to death. It’s just me. Any contribution should be welcomed.
  24. I wonder who’s ‘philosophy’ is better serving the purpose of this forum!
