Yes, sometimes actually that's EXACTLY what I want ! You'd love to know where the owners get their valuations from, as at a sales estimate of around £27,000 STG I'm guessing it's certainly not based on "fixtures and fittings :-) Also as they don't own the building, nor (I'm guessing) have a particularly long lease I guess then it must mainly be based on "goodwill" although in a low season Sunee Plaza I'm guessing that's also quiet low on the ground just now too perhaps. It is I'm guessing also more based on "that's roughly what the current owner paid for it 4 years ago and so he's happy to just get his initial investment back and walk away after spending money for the 4 years "enjoying" his bar - although the thought of being in there every night watching over your investment ( if he didn't want to see ALL the takings disappear quite fast) whilst there on holiday would be too much even for the most hardened of us I would have thought, so the guy surely get's some credit for sticking it out for 4 years.......but £27,000 STG worth of credit......hmmm that I guess would be another matter. Sorry for the delay, I've just read this thread and nope, you'll get no disagreement from me re your above SG - you're bang on the money there ( as I see you've already noted in a later thread too) - and actually as I see your post was way back in November now that the Assembly has crashed here ( yet again) there's a very real chance of direct rule once again being implemnented here if the local parties can't get their gravy triain back on the tracks. I don't "think" it'll come to that this time round (yet) but it could and if it does then your "being ruled over once more by the English" is even more spot on. Likewise though (and again as you said SG) some here wouldn't see that in such as bad light as perhaps you / a Nationalist would and we might just consider that a further extension of our own UK Government administering it's own area ( as we can't seem to manage that ourselves as our politicans are arseholes !). Yes i've a Flipino BF who (then) had a permanent "right to reside" visa for living here in the UK, which is doubly annoying as he lived and worked here, full time, for years, paid taxes here the lot - but yet we STILL couldn't go to the likes of Spain or Amsterdam for even a weekend break - or crazily go over the Irish border to Southern Ireland for normal every day shopping ( the border is about 30 minutes drive from my home where we both live) - SO annoying !! Same as you we had to PHYSICALLY go to the Spanish consulate in Edinburgh ( he rang and was told he MUST attend in person so over we went for the weekend) only for some cheeky arrogant SCOTTISH git at the door ( sorry SG but it's true) a) to talk to him like he was some piece of shit on arrival, grill him as to why he was there and tell him "you could have just posted this you know I don't know what you're doing here" - and this was the £6 an hour SECURITY guard on the front door ! I then ( who had held my tongue until that moment ) went to go in the door of the embassy waiting area with him ( as it was absolutely pissing down outside) only for same guard to stop me and say I'd just have to wait in the street as "I'd no business there" ( I should add this was at around 11am and the large waiting room was TOTALLY empty!) - well, as I WASN'T waiting for a visa and had nothing to lose by god he got it between the ears in true Irish / Scottish style and he was reminded that he wasn't talking to some poor visa seeking visitor begging for their goodwill and that he'd get his jaw realigned if he spoke to me like that again. Meanwhile my BF had been called on in to see the visa issuing consul staff member, who I'm told was equally as cheeky and shitty to him behind closed doors and I just WISH I'd of been told that before we left the place as he'd of been getting a piece of Irish manners put in him too. Personally I'd of told them to stick their visa and their country but my BF being of a cooler mind stayed calm and was eventually handed his visa for a long weekend trip - he asked for a 3 entry visa ( as he's been given before by the Netherlands etc) only for that to be declined and him given a one entry visit visa - shower of cunts the lot of them ! I've since read that both the Consul there and their staff have a reputation for being total cunts to all who enter and their bad manners that reflect so badly on Spain are plastered all over various visa chat rooms all over the internet apparently. Thankfully my BF is now a full British citizen so we won't have to go through all that nonsense anymore but I SO feel for anyone that does and all just simply to go on holiday ! Mind you after Brexit I'd better say nothing as give it a few months and we ALL might be needing our own Schengen application forms ! Well fuck it, if that's the case I think I'll just stay home ( or go to Thailand more) ! Best of luck.

You know I'm ashamed to admit that in all my years it has simply NEVER occurred to me to try to arrange to bring or meet or organise a Schengen Visa for a Thai guy that would enable us to holiday together elsewhere in Europe ! What a great idea for a mutually enjoyable holiday ! And finally if you know how to do it ( and even if not ask someone to do it for you AT HOME ) try to be sure to "back up" your phone before you give it to anyone to do anything with as it wouldn't be the first time that a company has tried to unlock a phone and totally screwed it up, losing all the customers data and stored phone contacts etc ( which is a real pain if it happens ) I'm guessing you're not "up" on these things but you ( or someone for you) can reasonably easily either back your phone up to your computer at home, meaning you'll always have that data there should anything bad happen or you lose your phone OR you can now quite easily open a "cloud" account ( like apples iCloud service) for free and then set your phone to back up EVERYTHING there as often as you like, every day if on holiday certainly, as once you select that option it's all automated thereafter and you won't even notice your phone doing it from then on and it only takes seconds. Then if you damage your phone or get it stolen you simply go buy a new empty phone, connect it to the internet, then connect online to your cloud account and press a button to reinstall ALL your data, phone contacts, pictures taken etc to that phone instantly and away you go again. That feature has saved my bacon several times now when travelling. You'll also have the bonus of all that data also being available to you once you get home on your computer too. I realise if you're not that way inclined that might sound difficult, it's really not and it's the way phones are now going and it is a really useful service and I personally wouldn't and couldn't do without it - and even if not travelling EVERYONE should now be backing up their phone at some points in case of it breakdown and you being left with no contacts and all your photos simply gone and lost forever.
