saving for airfare in one go

not saying you are entirely wrong but perhaps you will do better job quoting your own experiences instead of dwelling on other posts, specially negative ones. At Scandic I had both very good and quite so-so experiences over years but wouldn't say rip-off. Unless one treats fact that they collect min. tip up front as rip off. They may have their own business reason to do that with all Indian and Chinese traffic passing by and those clients may not be well versed in Thai massage places protocols and often then to think that massage fee includes full service and boy tip as well. I know because once I had such comment from Philippine customer who was surprised that price for massage doesn't include all like in Japan apparently. So Scandic need to protect interest of their employees by collecting fee and tip up front . Scandic is in Boyztown and Soda in Jomtien complex , not exactly nearby but 10-15 minutes ride on baht bus apart.

no place is clearly selling sex, all posture as legit massage , emploees are often called therapists etc. Only when door are closed , massage starts at one point extras are coming into picture. Sometimes subtly , sometimes explicit. They may give signal by brushing your jewels or ass crack or you may by scratching their knee or whatever part of their body comes close you your hands. Than both parties are going from there. It 's the game and quite exciting at that

as they say ' if you want love in Thiland, rent it " As for great experience , more or less you are guaranteed it as scores of members returning trip after trip attest.

hope prices will be competitive -
they were closed in December but reopened at one point in the summer

even if you were 60 and looking older there would be no shortage of guys willing to go with you

Hallo , thank you for your concern. I returned home on Thursday and still fighting jet lag, LOL. It looks that when you landed I was entertaining my last catch and catch it was ! Will do some reporting in due course but apart from jet lag I have some work to do here before I leave for my next trip, not as far though, in few days. Then I need to throw my annual party. Only after 1 weekend of December I will return to life of boredom and laziness and will start reporting , God willing.

+1, I thought exactly the same about mine

don't worry about lack of boys and too much rain, just go. All bars will be opened and well staffed, it may rain but it never rain more than 1-2 hrs. max. Since May is my favorite vacation month I was in Thailand in that month quite a few times ( 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2022 ) and never noticed any shortage of guys

as I reported in another thread Madrid is now in Charoen Krung soi 49, soi is almost opposite of Assumption Roman Catholic Cathedral. One acl walk there from s Silom, take tax or take BTS to Saphan Taksin and then it's pretty short walk from there. Spy atmosphere is gone but menu is the same and pizza tastes as great as before, visited at least 4 times during my recent trip. Owner told me she doesn't have any plans of returning to Patpong

there's also store with very good rates on Narathiwas between Arena and MahaNakhon
-
that's strange as I always see rate used in ATM withdrawal a bit worse than one I 'm obtaining at at least XONE on Suriwong and TT in Pattaya. In fact after I account for ATM fees, effective rate for my currency ( not USD, nor Euro ) withdrawn from ATM is marginally worse than rate in Airport booths in main building and only minimally better that one I'd be paying if purchased baht locally before trip. Differences are not big but consistent , it's why I use cash and go to ATM only in emergencies. Since I have no reason to doubt what you said bottom line is that effectiveness of rates between ATM and cash option may depend on particular currency i.e. to make it up it may be better to use ATM if you are dealing with Indonesian ruppiah but cash will be more effective if using Philippines piso
-
Yes but watch the charges Thai and your own bank may be levying on withdrawal.
-
You are right, even airport exchange rate , while worse is for me about the same if I bought baht in advance where I live.
-
If you going straight to Pattaya, exchange in airport only as much as you need to get you there. I Pattaya best rates have yellow units called TT EXCHANGE ( don,t confuse with similarly colored CURREBCY EXCHANGE )
-
I,d purchase USD in my country of residence. Bring a lot of small denominations and make sure they are not torn nor have writings on it.
-
Just spent week there and despite inconvenience of counting in 1000,s this is how they quote their prices. Perhaps only once , max 2 times I was quoted price in Usd or baht. Exchange rate 1 usd = 17300 -17500 kip, highest denomination 100 000 banknote
-
With carefull planning that win should happen in 1st week of Dec the latest !
-
You will not be ,rest assured. Sitting in Boyztown now and even if it was raining since early afternoon there,s still action and customers
-
If price of flight is much lower , why not?
-
No, simply immigration lines were properly staffed

Don,t be too brave or at least select your destinations carefully
