I don't want to sound sarcastic but certainly Peter you could use couple visits to bars now and update yourself on going there. Even one of our members in his report few days ago reported about opening bottle ( in Jupiter if I'm not mistaken ) . Depending of what's inside it will be 2000-3500 a bottle , mixers included. I underscored in your comment possible reason they don't care about brief's loving customer with solitary 400 baht drink is will be another one who opens bottle, drinks with boys and tips them, sometimes skimpy , at other times generously. In last two trips , in May and Nov I witnessed at least on three occasions boys being tipped 1000 baht just for sitting with client and drinking with him or her and I really don't pay much attention about audience in any bar. The same note received guy on the stage whom I offed subsequently so it was just for looking pretty. I , as much as others don't like those changes but I stopped complaining and still happily visit bars because I can see those complains are falling on deaf ears. another nail hit in the head, you on the roll today

it may be a case. Both mamasan and at least few guys from BBB Pattaya when I asked why only few boys are bare-chested on the stage told me that it is up to a boy to take shirt off or not. Another change, and that's for better, I noticed last trip was at Jupiter, during their parade boys, in the past always sober or even stern looking started smiling at the customers .... one of whatever reasons may be that they lost a shape and don't look attractive anymore. Definitely a case of one most popular guys from one of most popular bars and I doubt it's solitary case. I'd leave running bar to bar owners. I absolutely agree with all you said above but are we minority or majority of customers ? What was filling tills in times when farangs were almost exclusive clientele may not be doing the trick when Asian are prevailing like right now. It's not difficult to notice even in our forum. Guys complaining about boys in jeans or fully dressed are almost exclusively farangs. Perhaps for many clients it not as big issue as it is for some of us. I don't need to go far to see it since I have mirror. Yes I'd prefer guys being in skimpy briefs only but if they are not , I still like and enjoy my visits in bars. We use to look lustingly at their brief's contents but with proliferation of nose , earlobes , chin, hairstyle improvements in recent time perhaps that's the better way to get off and catch sugar daddy nowadays. I don't know but guessing based what I see and also what I hear from guys. Mooks , silicon and other cock improvements are passé , they seem to be more occupied with their faces or broadly speaking heads ....... that's the big if . I mean not you, person of Gaybutton, but type of customer liking what you like. May be bars and boys don't see much potential in older farangs anymore with us nursing one drink whole evening , tipping guys 20 baht for a feel and complaining (rightly I haste to say) about cost of drinks. Perhaps new wave of customers opening whisky bottles, getting drunk, offing multiple buys for dances at DJ to get ever more drunk and then tipping them more like all drunk people tip is more desirable because pays their , figuratively speaking , mortgages ? I don't know , just guessing. What I do know from personal experience in last post-covid trips is that it's more common then before that guys are rejecting my offers, are not interested in subsequent offs even if they were tipped above the market (?) or even not interested in off at all. Did I start smelling badly or they just see better money or better fun somewhere else?

It was done both verbal and I left him detailed note, other driver present who spoke good English explained him that too so I expected process to be fast and smooth. When in arrival hall, he was nowhere to be seen so I asked dispatch to call him. He went to Swampy instead ! Realizing his mistake he told dispatch he is not coming to Don Muang to pick me up, rather he will hunt for some fare there. Fine, many fish in the sea, I was ready just to take one from taxi rank but dispatch told me she will have driver for me. We agreed on 1500 price and after about 45 minutes of waiting he showed up. I probably would be better off with my original plan taking somebody from taxi stand but now I had no choice . Can was shiny, driver smiling, it was not taxi , just her friend with car, but who cares ? Transport was secured. In about 2 hrs 20 minutes I was back in Boyztown. On my way I Lined bkkmfj I will be there and he showed up shortly in the soi. Today we decided to have beer at Pikky, after emptying our bottles there we went to Dreamboys. We were only customers there, about 8 boys available but none our type so after finishing out drinks we went to BBB. Boys were standing on the stage , among them few with tops removed . One of them was HC whom I had in Bangkok before going to Laos and who decided to cut his stay with me short. I did not hold any grudges and using ‘vinapu tuck’ tipped him and another bare chested guy as well as one fully dressed who was smiling at me broadly. I was kind of thinking to off one of them three but at one moment I spotted 2 familiar faces – Cambodian boys whom I offed in May along with brother of one of them. They remembered me as well so we were fixed for night today minus brother who was in their room not feeling well. On departure HC smiling asked me if he can see me tomorrow. I told him I will Line him but knew already it will be a case. I got over issue we had long ago and still have soft spot for him. We even shook hands. Bkkmfj went home and I with boys to metal tables restaurant for a dinner as they were hungry. Then to my room at Copa for night of fun. We developed procedure in May and sticked to it so no threesome but two sets twosomes through the night.

Part 3 - Vientiane After 4 days it was time to take a train although I could easily spend 2-3 more days there. Interesting yet relaxing place. Ticket was arranged by travel agent in the hotel, she also charged me 50000 for a van to railway station so getting there was smooth affair. Luang has distinction of having it’s airport much closer to the city than railway station. I knew that my hotel is walking distance from station but still tuk tuk driver offered mi ride for 50 000 , when I smiled knowingly showing him where hotel is he dropped it to 20000 , now we are talking, for that amount I can travel 2 blocks in style. At hotel we both laughed. I spent 2 day there, Vientiane is not big city and has that provincial feel but main avenue connecting presidential palace with Victory Gate quite impressive. There are several wats spread across the city , at least two of them are a must, oldest in the city Wat Si Saket with thousands of Buddha statues and Wat Phra Kaew , now converted to museum, original site of Emerald Buddha , now in Grand Palace in Bangkok. Close there is walled compound of French embassy and big sized Ukrainian flag on one of walls reminded me about nasty war there . Across the street I found Sacred Heart Catholic cathedral and friendly nun there told me it’s only Catholic church in whole country. Another landmark ancient stupa That Dam was close to my hotel and not far from there is still one more landmark Nam Phu fountain but at that time was in process of renovation and whole place around her was deserted. Central bus station looks half finished but has quite good information desk where staff speaks some English. Morning market with many stalls is just across the street. Stroll along Mekong is very pleasant with rural Thailand on other side. Nong Khai is several km downstream. For those who want to cross to Thailand by bridge to Nong Khai or want to visit Buddha Park there’s half hourly , well posted bus from Central Bus Station taking you to both. Of course I visited most venerated landmark in Vientiane, Golden Stupa That Luang , symbol of country featured on coat-of-arms and every banknote (there are no coins in Laos). It’s about 3 km from city center, I just walked there but took tuk-tuk-back. I had feeling that those 2 days were just enough to see everything, certainly is wort to stop there on a way to or from Luang Prabang , specially now with train whisking between two in just 2 hours. Airport is almost walking distance from the center , probably 6 km from my hotel but when time came to leave I took tuk -tuk for 200 baht from my hotel, this was only time in Laos when I was quoted price in 3 currencies : 100000 kip or 200 baht or 6 dollars. I opted for baht since I wisely run out of kip that morning. Airport is last place one can exchange kip back to dollar or baht, outside of Laos nobody will exchange it. Flight to Don Muang was short and smooth and upon landing I started third and final Thai part of this trip.

Hurrah ! so it means it's still will be possible to get to and from Don Muang by train. Despite trains being slow and rickety it takes the same time like going by MRT and then change to Red SRT line. And old train station is better positioned / closer / to international terminal at Don Muang. It quite long walk there from new shiny station but stop can be made at food court on the way.

It probably 5 years since I was last at VCK and I'm glad to learn that nothing changed there. Who would waste time going that far expecting only massage ? Boy there know it and go straight to a task at hand. Bravo's Dreamboy boy probably felt like Christmas is early this year with such generous tip but I always say and do what I preach - it's better to be over generous and part ways happy than economize and end 1/3 satisfied. I too like the mirrors and I noticed few times , boys do to some peeking at it constantly.

at some time after re-unification in Berlin there was different price (lower) for city public transport for former residents of Eastern Berlin. Checkpoint Charlie museum had free admission for citizens of former Eastern Bloc ( Poland , Hungary Romania etc )

part 2 continued For last two days of my stay there was no night market all of the sudden, only food section was opened. It turned out that it was owing to dispute between vendors as to which place belong to whom , police got involved to settle issue but souvenirs seekers all of the sudden had very little choice. Day before I saw some carving I decided to buy to no avail as that vendor along with other did not present his goodies for sale. Walking along the river boat cruises along Mekong are offered , actually quite pleasant idea. Since price is per boat it’s better to join other tourists is there’s opportunity but those are not that expensive at 200 000 (12 $ ) so I splurged twice just to support local economy. Across the Mekong ( ferry 5000, circulates constantly ) there are few temples , rarely visited even if they are so close and rural walk from ferry landing , well marked , between them is pleasant. It’s about 2.5 km so hardly tiring , even in mid day. I was expecting to walk back from the last one but industrious guy with boat eyed me , waved screaming “ city 100 000” so I decided again to support locals although probably overpaid by 50000. Boatmen seeing such stupid and naïve guy took pity and actually awarded me 30 minute cruise along the river before delivering me to the city. Luang is hardly tiring place but I recommend that trip across the river just to relax and see what’s hidden there as you can see below.

Part 2 Most of Luang’s many temples are free but few most impressive and most popular require ticket for 20000 -30000. Popular attraction in Luang is alms giving ceremony at sunrise but I did not partake not only for being lazy to wake up that early but also I don’t believe in converting religious ceremonies into tourist circus. I rather leave to to believers. bit different type of temple Pak Ou caves are in quite a distance upstream so I took a boat tour for that as well, pleasant trip of more than hour. We had luck of seeing shiny train crossing the Mekong. After caves we went to whisky village to taste local moonshine, then to elephant feeding center where before feeding elephant we feed ourselves with a very tasty lunch served there. Then it turned out most people are going to waterfall by the bus but few who did not purchase this option like me got invited to get out in the city . Not that they just dumped us, no , there was van which took us to our hotels free of charge.
