I haven’t actually stayed there this year but I did several times last year. I’ve been on that street and I don’t see anything different except the name. I saw prices on agoda and Booking.com and they didn’t seem much higher than last year to me.

I do fine for 1200-1500 a “pop.”

Nothing wrong with MBs. I was just being a pathetic old queen for a moment. I like the unlimited apps because I can check out large numbers of guys and home in on what I want. Hornet limits me to five. I can quickly run through five guys who are not right and then I have to pay to look at any more profiles. This is new for them, and annoying to me.

I will return to Thailand on November 12. I have reached the age where it is sadly only MBs for me, but still some very satisfying results. My go to app was always Hornet, but now they are limiting the number of profiles I can look at and text to unless I pay premium, which I am too cheap to do. How are the other apps? I’ve run into that twenty minute wait before. In a way it’s fair because they might have other commitments and have experienced client no shows. It can go both ways of course.

So I’ve been here for two weeks and I just checked my passport and there is no entry stamp! Has this ever happened to anyone here? At the airport the officer said she was giving me 60 days, but now I see no stamp. Damn.

I can remember two scary stories at Robinson from those times (early 90’s). 1. On the front steps a young boy started talking to me. He was smoking but was about 15. He was pushing me to take him off somewhere: “300 baht—you happy, I happy.” Small guy but looked a bit tough and already burnt out. It was depressing. I extricated myself. 2. I was having a coffee in the Robinson’s coffee shop on a hot mid-afternoon. A boy approached with photos of girls. “You want a girl?” Naive me, I thought I’d be cute so told him I like boys. In a flash he pointed to a boy and said, “My brother. You like?” The kid was about nine years old! Severe and horrified no from me of course. Jesus f’ing Christ: pimping your nine year old brother! So spare me any glory tales about the good old days. I still shiver thinking of these two incidents.
