  1. Thanks to this topic, I just read The Bhutan topic on Gaybutton. It was quite beautiful! I have wanted to visit Bhutan for decades but have not done so because of the expense and the total lack of anything gay. I have been visiting Nepal since 1975 and take great delights in its natural beauty and its very friendly people. It is a very gay tolerant country and very easy to find like minded local companions to show you around, go trekking with, and much more. If you want much of the natural beauty and historic interest of Bhutan with much more accessibility to having a gay experience, Nepal is a great choice!!
  2. I am also fond of African gays but I do not come to Thailand or SE Asia looking for them even though it would be very nice. Does anyone know how many African Asians there are?
  3. I can not help but thinking of all those lovely shady palm trees along the beach being removed. There are always plenty of boys, but trees.........
  4. This is so hard to believe!! I was just there in March and really enjoyed walking along the curved colored stone path under the palm trees in back of the beach chairs. It seems like a sick joke to have us walk out in the sun on a wide open characterless walkway!!??
  5. Stayed in Tai-Pan Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 23 in March. In your price range. Very nice size clean, quiet room. Gay friendly. Nice pool and gym and trainer! Very near Banana Club and Urban Male Massage and Nine Mens Spa . And very close to Asok BTS elevated and MRT under ground station and Terminal 21.
  6. Thank you so much for your posting. You are giving me another good reason to visit Phnom Penh. They have a nice web site in English: www.prumsodun.com. They have been performing in their studio in PP twice a month. Hope they are still active next March when I plan to make my first visit. And if you happen to go to Siem Reap, don't miss the Phare Cambodian circus! pharecircus.org
  7. Stayed there for five nights in April. Had a balcony room in front on the second floor. A fairly small and quiet room both convenient and comfortable. It's run by two Indian brothers who are fixing it up. They had not yet gotten around to the lighting in the room which is very minimal and dim. I was very happy with the balcony room as I could gt good light through the big window and glass on the door. But after sunset there was very low light in the room. Good shower and on demand hot water which worked very well. Did not eat there. Nor did I eat next door which was very busy but did not seem very suitable for vegetarians. Room was $22/night. Found a great and very inexpensive restaurant only 5 minutes away towards Pub Street and a few doors down from Blue Hatha Spa (which was quite enjoyable). It's called Dee Cafe on Steung Thmei and right around the corner from Tous Les Jours a lovely coffee shop/bakery.
  8. This past April I hired Sareth from Siam Roads for two days. We had a wonderful time. He is so cute and sweet and funny! IOh! And he knows a lot and knows how to get around. Would strongly recommend him. If I go back again next year, I will definitely hire him again.
  9. Highly recommend Banana Club on Sukhumvit Soi 23. Kelvin is the mamasan and he is most helpful. He gave me a wonderful suggestion, Ton. After putting my things in a locker, we showered together and proceeded to a very nice smallish room. The massage was great as were the extras. Again we showered together. It was a memorable experience. Will definitely return on my next visit. Also paid a visit to nearby Nine Spa to have a session with Guy (whom I discovered on Instagram! "guy_mars") on a quite side lane off Soi Sawatdi. He is exactly my type of look. The hour long session was only 30 minutes but shortness was well compensated in intensity. He wasn't much into the massage but the extras were again quite memorable. Stayed in Tai-Pan Hotel only a block away from Banana Club. They had a non-smoking floor and a nice outdoor pool, sauna and weight room with a very friendly trainer.
  10. I think that subconsciously I bring back foreign currency so that I will feel attached to returning to that country again. Also I do not want to pay the reverse exchange rate differential and I am lazy. I still have Laos kip from 20 years ago! No more 1000 baht with King and Queen on back, but some 500s?!
  11. Coincidentally, one nice advantage of having saved the baht for so many years was that they had appreciated. I had bought them for about 44 baht for the dollar and spent them at 34 baht for the dollar! Unfortunately I travel to India much more often and I have always lost by holding on to rupees.
  12. Speaking of currency, I returned to Bangkok after a 15 year hiatus. With me I brought 17,000 baht from that earlier trip - mostly in nice crisp 1,000 baht notes. To my surprise several places would not accept them as they did not have the recent security features. I did manage to use most of them but I still have a couple of them, Let's see what happens on my next trip - hopefully in a year or two!
  13. Just got back last month from trip to Pattaya and used the public non-stop airport bus to get to Pattaya. Takes about two hours and stops several places in Pattaya ending up at its station on Thappraya Rd next to Food Mart and the Thep Prasit intersection. If you are staying in Jomtien at Poseidon or Agate, Zing etc. it is only a short walk. Runs hourly on the hour from 7am to 10pm. The last two buses in the evening terminate in the north Pattaya bus station. You can find the ticket counter on Level 1 Gate 8 of Suvarnabhumi Airport. Cost 120 Baht. Roong Reuang Coach. Comfortable enough A/C coach. Buy ticket at the counter and you have to wait for next available bus - 30 to 50 minutes,. But after over 20 hours in a plane, it feels good to walk around and stretch and get a snack. For more detail go to: http://airportpattayabus.com
  14. Sorry, guess I didn't figure out how to put a picture in a message?!
  15. On March 16 I went to Sanam Luang and saw the structures being built for the King's cremation ceremony. However they would not let me into the grounds saying it was for Thais only which I respect. But I did take a picture from outside (which I hope I managed to copy onto this message!).
  16. Stayed in the Agate last week for a couple of days. Very nice room, beautiful pools, lovely breakfast included. But it was a bit big and somewhat impersonal. Preferred Poseidon. Room with hot tub quite outrageous and the staff and owner are super friendly. Wonderful a la carte breakfast at a great price. My choice for an even longer stay next time!
  17. I always check: kayak.com and seatguru.com to find the plane and seat measurements and its configuration before I fly. Makes a big difference especially coming from US.
  18. Oh! Please don't leave us
  19. What is a few pounds among friends. You look great!
  20. Today while walking around the outside of the Grand Palace and up to the National Museum, I noticed that there is much activity going in Sanam Luang which is totally fenced off in preparation for the upcoming event. Thousands of people, almost all in black, are entering Sanam Luang to observe the preparations and show their respect by slowly walking around a very tall platform that is being erected. I approached the entry gate respectfully but was turned away very politely by a well spoken uniformed official who said that entry was limited to Thai citizens. The best plan for those interested in seeing the ceremony live may be to find a good TV in the country and observe what they may televise for the many people in Thailand who will not be able to come in person. Perhaps if you are close friends to a high ranking government official or member of the royal household or a foreign diplomat stationed in Bangkok ,you may be able to attend or maybe not.
  21. Have only been here in Jomtien Complex for two days, but have had an opportunity to try some massage. Your map is accurate. Here are most of the names. #1 - Sa Bai Thong #2 - Soda #3 - Fah #4 - Blue Angel #5 -?? (Didnt see sign in English) They all seem to have oil and most other massages for 300 per hour. Thai massage is 200. I tried oil massage at Fah and had a masseur named Men. The facilities were small and basic. Looked like 3 curtained off areas up front and a room with a lockable door and shower in the back which I was in. Not particularly clean. But table was sturdy and coverings seemed clean. Men gave an excellent massage with medium pressure which I requested. Very therapeutic and also very sensual. When I turned over I could see that he was dressed in short loose trunks and he did not mind mutual touch. Actually he got quite excited. However he never got too close... Only one HE. Not sure he would offer more if negotiated or on subsequent visits? Gave him 500 and massage was 300. Offered a shower at the end, but gave it a pass. Very enjoyable hour. Will definitely try to see Men again. Well worth just for the therapeutic treatment. Next day massage at Soda. Didn't get the name of the masseur. This is a much bigger facility with more decoration. Curtained off cubicles in front and than more around the corner. Looked fairly clean. I was in a cubicle around the corner. Received an adequate massage and upon turning over again he was in loose shorts which quickly disappeared. Mutual HE. Again not much more interaction. Gave him 300 and massage was 300. It was ok experience. Of course in any massage place the experience will depend greatly on the masseur. And as I did not request more interaction since I did not know if that would be appropriate, I just went with the flow. Look forward to trying out more of these places later in the month when I return. Would be nice to hear of more personal experiences in these places. For me this is much less hit or miss than boy bar and certainly less expensive.
  22. Thanks for your instagram video. He seems like a very nice guy. And you preserved his privacy as you do not get to see his face.
  23. He will post his pictures when Trump releases his tax returns!!
  24. Would that be "Carpe Puerum"?
  25. May this year bring you much happiness and joy Abang!! I love your posts. Always informative with a lovely dry and slightly self deprecating sense of humor. May you continue to share your wisdom with us all for a long time...
