i can only echo Badboys comments! take your first night there and visit Lagoa(especially Friday night from 6:00 to 9:00) as badboy said many of the guys on websites can be found there on the popular nights!

to answer Lucky’s question...No i am not going to wed, but i am getting closer to settling down with a Brazilian in Merida for part of the year! At least i thought so until this last trip to Brazil! now i am vconfused again, every time i think this is the one, i meet a new special one! i guess i am just doomed to be single for remainder of my life!

I was told that Bar Fama does not get going until after midnight, this was my first time there and we got there I think after midnight but not later then 12:30 and the place was fairly busy. The bar is on a busy street but I was told don't walk around take cab or uber to the door and back!(it was easy and Uber took less then 2 minutes to arrive at around 2:00 am when we left.

I don't know I have never been there on a Weds, my times there has always been Friday/Sat/Sun./Mon.

Gotti, it was my first time to Bar Fama, and I loved it, but it is not for everyone, it is kinda sleezy(I loved it), and if you are somewhat timid, shy or convervative in your social life, it is not for you! The bar/seating area is not that large but there is a large black curtin on the right side as you walk in and that is the dark Room, where it is very dark and where you and a guy can have any kind of sex you want. there is a stage with a dancer on it and at the back of the bar there is a bathroom. the bathroom has a larger outer room where guys are blowing each other or kissing, and then there is the bathroom which has a lock and you can go in there and have privacy. We were there from about Midnight to 1:30 and there were about a dozen to 15 guys available, many waiting around the doorway to the bath room or in the bathroom. I walked in to take a look around and was immediately approached by several guys. One of the guys I was with was a very good looking guy with a lean toned build but who was slightly either drunk or on drugs but very functional otherwise, nice guy.. I was with two different guys there, and before anyone asks the pricing....it's is variable and based on your negotiating skills. I liked it, I had fun and I will definitely go again! I was there with Acir the owner of Meo Mundo and he also commented that several of the guys were surprisingly good looking because the impression was that it would be street boys but overall on that Saturday night it wasn't.. I will say that more then 2/3 of the guys appeared to be straight guys looking to make some quick cash.

i just returned from 12 Days in Brazil and For what it’s worth, these were imo the best nights! Lagoa SP - Friday great and Saturday almost as good Pointe 202 - Wednesday exceptional and Monday very good Club 117 - on Tuesday packed and Thursday not bad and Sunday was so/so Meo Mundo - i did not go

When I got to Bar Mix around 10:30 the owner Dilo came owner and greeted me and then grabbed by hand and took me over to meet a guy! He usually does this to me so that i meet one of the "better" guys, as he worries i will make a bad decision since i am a American and usually the only non local in the place. the guy was a good looking 22 yr.old who had won a best ass contest! we had a drink and then went to one of the private rooms, he was a lot of fun and we trade numbers on FB and Instagram. The third pic below is the couch i usually sit to meet the guys who are circulating around. there are about 8 to 10 different rooms to circulate around in depending one the current remoulding which seems to happen every 6 months. there is to sitting rooms in the front and larger show/restaurant room, a pool/dart room and several other sitting rooms plus 3 bedrooms for rent.

A quick summary of my trip! i just finished 12 days in Brazil, first 2 days in SP then 6 days in Rio, then 2 in Porto Alegre then back in Rio for a day and last day in SP! i wasn’t intending to return to Rio after the initial 6 days, but switched my flights to return this past Sunday because of a ceetain guy! Lagoa was good on both Friday and Saturday nights! i rented a house on Airbnb in the Aclimacau neighborhoo, very nice quiet upscale area and only about 10 - 12 minutes to Lagoa! on saturday I went to Bar Fama at midnight a saturday and it is a interesting, a little sleepy but i had a good time with 2 different guys there! Pointe202 on Monday and Wednesday was very good with Wednesday being exceptional with over 50 garotos and equal number of clients. Tuesday night at 117 was good and Sunday wasn’t bad! Mezziniu was weak on friday but packed on Saturday! met a handsome guy at Bar Mixx on Friday night!

First there is no safer or easier environment to solicit sex then the sauna! my first visit was Oct. 2001, and i have never had a issue or problem in 4 to 5 trips a year since then! 2) re: grindr it is no different in Brazil then it is in the OC! and as long as you do basic things such as hide your money and phone you will be fine! one tip don’t use the bathroom or shower unless you leave the door open or invite them to shower with you! it’s amazing what they can go through in 30 seconds! most guys want repeat business, at least that’s been my experience! (and i have had a lot of experience lol)

Floridarob and I have a good friend who brings 2 or 3 large boxes weighing between 50 and 70 lbs (that he pays a extra $200. as extra baggage) all filled with presents for the boys, 50 pairs of calvin klein underwear, shirts, 30 baseball caps, etc) he takes a big bag every night to the sauna to hand them out, and the boys thank him, give him a kiss, and go and try to sell them.. they make fun of him behind his back and they do nothing extra for him in the rooms! they think he is a fool for giving something away for free. He has been doing this since 2003. Now I will say it gives him pleasure to give presents, but we have compared notes on guys we have both been with, and they do the minimum with him.

Gotti i respectfully disagree with the above statements! For the last 7 years i have been in apts in in Ipanema, 90% of the time the same one and there is never less then 3 and usually 4 to 6 guys staying with me and i do not Bttm and all of them do some less then others, all but 1 say they are tops or “mostly top” but at the apt i do try for at least 1 and preferably 2 primerally tops do that we can switch off! of course i have assembling guys who like and want to have sex with each other is a important ingredient! in the past i will see a guy at the sauna and point him out to the guys and they will give a thumbs up or down or they will point a guy out to me and i will do the same if we all agree he is invited back to the apartment! i do agree that you cannot have noisy parties and we never do and i have never been questioned by the landlords although some have looked a little surprised when showing up for check-out and their are 4+ guys packed up! another thing is i leave the apartment cleaner then i found it!

Young11 I understand what you are feeling. the first 3 or 4 years I went to Brazil I always went with 2 or 3 good friends and we had a 3 bedroom apt in Copa that my friend had year around. and it was great but the 4 of us were the result of meeting a number of americans and we realized dinner was too long to be around a lot of them! the 4 of us got along great and thou we came from diverse backgrounds and different parts of the country we became good friends and are to this day, 15 years later! but we never shared a apt or hotel room until we got to know each other through about 6 or 8 trips.

i agree with Torogen, the apt i have rented for the past 6 years in Ipanema does not have a doorman! there is the locked door from the street, a 2nd locked gate by the atrium and finally the apartment lock. all are owners living there except the apt i rent which is owned by a English guy who is gone 9 mo. of the year. on the 3 occasions when i could not stay in this place the two other apts i rented in Ipanema only had doorman until 10:00 pm

i would say a majority of the guys probably care less what you look like, you are a client and nothing more then $100.R+. but for a minority that are smart and look ahead futher then the next day they will cultivate a relationship if possible with a client...as long as he isn’t a jerk or asshole! imho

i think it is like every else in world, chelsea, Weho,, etc..all be coming gentrified and less gay! Farmers de Amoedo other then starting at the gay beach only has ToNeAi as the only gay bar (Farme de Amoedo and Rua Visconde de Piraja)

i have been going to Brazil for 16 years and i have never caught a STD! part of this i attribute to being in the medical field and part to “Luck”! As i stated earlier i have been with quite a few Brazilians...as well as Mexicans, Czechs and Canadians!
