Yeah I thought about it but when you google KYTOP you don't get political donations more like donations to Escorts. Bit I guarantee I enjoyed my donations to most escorts much more than my donations to Polticians.

Their numbers get diluted when they get spread throughout the South and Texas especially were Republicans have greater numbers.

On a visit to Sugarloaf I did get to see some marmosets. They were actually very friendly as were the abundant spectacular nocturnal wild life Tampa refers to in the saunas but not as aggressive.

Or in most cases dump money on politicians or PACS that will impact their specific business. In the business world, business interests will trump social interests any day of the week. I spent several years dealing with politicans on a local, state, and national level due to the business I was in depended greatly on State and Federal Funds to survive. I made several trips to DC each spring and summer roaming the halls of Congress for "meet and greets". The NUMBER ONE thing I learned very very quickly in these political circles was that there is not a $1000 check difference between a Democrat or a Republican. And regardless of what my social issue opinions were they were never a part of my discussions with these Politicans and their people. My Business interests were. I guarantee you I gave money to the Political campaigns of people I truly did not like but they held the power to advance my business interest. I remember one time I gave a $1000 check to the Democrat running and then when realizing he was going to lose I quickly gave $1000 to the campaign of the Republican (who did end up winning). Like it or not, that is how politics works. Anyone who knows my real name could google it and what you will find is links to my political donation records for both Democrats and Republicans and also to my local Fairness Campaign Fund. What I found scary was a link on a Liberal sponsored site listing the amount I gave to a Republican with a google map that showed the location of MY HOUSE.

It appears the 2010 US Census is now complete. Looks like there will be a shift of several congressional seats from Northern Democratic areas to Southern Republican areas. Texas picks up 4 seats, NY loses 2, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and others also took hits. Here is an easy interactive link, if your interested, to USA Today's overview of the census and by clicking on any state you can see that states numbers. Also after clicking on a state you click a bar at the bottom of that state's Demographics for a detail on Congressional gains, loses, and a breakdown by any county or city in that state. I've always enjoyed stats, don't know why, so I've looked at several states Demographics and found them interesting. Here's the link: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/census/default.htm?refresh=1

You picking on southerners? Some of the wildest weirdest looking people I've ever seen or met have probably never set foot in the south.

I will admit that I have thought of Donald Trump as a self promoting wing bag at times but find him running for President interesting. I got in the car a couple of weeks ago and the radio came on to Rush Limbaugh. As I started to change the station he mentioned he was having Trump on in a couple of minutes. I thought this might be interesting and decided to listen. I found his take on the economy and trade issues with China (and their currency), Korea and other foreign issues that are killing our economy very interesting. Since then I've seen him on a few other shows and he makes some good points, even though some of his views would probably piss off the rest of the world. Don't know were he stands on social issues but I would think that being so visible in New York circles he would have some moderate opinions there? But to win the Republican nomination he will surely have to lean Conservative on some of that I would think. I understand he may oppose gay marriage. But if the economy is still in the tank social issues may be on the far back burner in the next election. I have NO idea if I would vote for the guy but I really hope he jumps into the Presidental Race. Mainly because I think he will force a very interesting debate about our economic relations with China, Korea and several other countries.

Oz, I didn't know they had Target in Thailand and Brazil. Question I've got is does boycotting such large stores really have any effect at all? I know there was a comment about boycotting "Chick Fil A" here not long ago and they just had a record year in a down economy. A boycott of a smaller store might work but I'm not so sure about a large chain.

For over 10 years I traveled alot and mostly stayed with Marriott properties. I acheived Platinum Elite LIFETIME because I stayed at their hotels more some years than I sleep in my own bed. 2 years I had over 200 nights each year with them. I mention that because I had a few overbooked or sellout situations occur. I got into Indianapolis late one night and they had given my room away. After some frantic calls, some big event was in town, they got me a room on a close-by college campus (I kid you not), got a van to take me there and comped my hotel bill. They had the van to return me the next morning to the Marriott to finish my stay at the hotel. Another time I got stuck in Detroit when weather caused me to miss a connection. A Marriott close to the airport picked me up and even though they had no rooms left, they put up a bed in a conference room that would seat at least 100 people. No TV, it was late anyway, but luckily the room did have an attached bathroom with a shower. It was a weird feeling waking up the next morning in that room. I often thought it would have been funny if I could have had sex in that room that night. I was never asked to bump another guest but I think they just did not ask. They did ask me if I wanted to bump someone from a room once because they did not have my preferred room type and I thought that was a bit much to move someone and they clean the room. I think they discounted my room that night.

Actually the doctor never "cut him off". It was just after awhile it seemed he needed or wanted more of the drug than the doctor was prescribing for him. Thanks very much for your wishes and thoughts. In our situation at least I keep telling myself no one has died from our situation unlike in so many other cases. But I did have a gun removed from their house when the first situation arose, still wonder why he had not taken it to the pawn shop. It also scares me to think what if someone had attacked him while he was breaking into cars with my grand-daughter in the car with him. I am so thankful she was not harmed physically during this.

After reading this topic I have tried to think long and hard about responding since this topic hits a bit close to home for me. My son-in-law was experiencing some back pain from an unknown cause. Upon visiting a pain doctor he was prescribed Oxycontin for his pain. After some time on the med he became addicted and lost his job. In the spring of 2009 he was arrested for breaking into cars, stealing purses and such for money to feed his habit. When he got caught he had my grand-daughter in her car seat in the car with him while he broke into a car. My daughter was called to come to the scene to retrieve my grand-daughter from the police. Her home was then ransacked while the police searched her home for stolen items, even turning over the mattresses on the beds, including the child's. As you could imagine this tore our family up very badly. My son in law was quickly placed on probation by a judge because he agreed to go to a very expensive rehab center, for 3 months, out of state in Florida on my daughter's health insurance. I had to step in to help my daughter and grand-daughter with some finances during this time. Upon returning from rehab my daughther reluctantly allowed him to visit his daughter and eventually allowed him to return to their home, allowing him a second chance and hoping to rebuild their her homelife and family. I bit my tongue allowing it was her decision to make and not mine, trying to let her live her own life, she is an adult. One day this past spring she came home and their flatscreen TV was gone and he told her it had messed up and he had taken it to be repaired. Then other things of value started disappearing from the house. Then a neighbor, who he had known all his life had their house broke into. The items, including hunting rifles, shotguns, and hand guns ended up at a pawn shop. The police traced it back to my son-in-law and he was again arrested for theft to feed his "pain medicine" habit of Oxycontin. There were numerous other breakins in the area they were also able to tie back to him. Yes as you can guess the items missing from her own home, including her class rings and other jewelry was also at numerous pawn shops throughout the city. He actually told my daughter where to find the pawn slips he had hidden. I spent a day traveling from pawn shop to pawn shop with her, PAYING to retreive what items they still had and had not yet sold. My daughter was humilated. Then she got a notice in the mail were their house was being auctioned by the mortgage company. For over 6 months he had not paid their house payment and had spent the money on his "pain medicine habit". It was a very nice, large home they built about 5-6 years ago. He had intercepted the notices from the bank and she never knew he had not payed the payments. It was too late to save it and my daughter's income was not enough to bail out the mortgage, pay other bills and everyday living expenses. I then gave my daughter enough money to move into a small 2 bedroom apartment with my grand-daughter. Moving day was an emotional nightmare watching my daughter breakdown throughout the day, curling up in a fetal position crying as we went through things to move into the apartment or to put into storage and taking my grand-daughter from her home. I watched her cry as we left her family pets of several years, 3 black labs she had raised since puppies, at the animal shelter because she could not care for them and have them at her apartment. I have been trying to help her as much as I can over the past few years but I have had some medical problems that forced me into retirement while all this was going on. He was in jail for awhile awaiting trial but due to overcrowding he has been released without having to pay the original bail set for him. He is set to go to trial in a few months. I've had to deal with my daughter crying about how she will explain to her daughter about her father possibly being in prison and not being in her life. He is allowed supervised visitation with my grand-daughter while awaiting trial. As you can imagine this has been a hard emotional couple of years because of a "pain doctor" giving my son-in-law the highly addictive "pain medicine" Oxycontin. Due to the problems with Oxycontin in our state all prescriptions for it are now highly tracked including how often the "pain doctors" prescribe it. Now it is a common practice for people from my state to travel to "pain doctors" in Florida, due to tracking here, where they are quick to write them prescriptions on a first visit from out of state patients of course for an inflated office fee. The State Police has started stopping cars randomly returning to the state and finding numerous out of state prescriptions for some of these people for their "pain medicine". So as you can see this Chronic Pain Treatment Controversy has hit very close to home for me and it has ruined and caused much emotional pain on my family. Do people need pain medicines sometimes? Of course but it has created a nightmare in it's wake for many like my family. What is the solution? I wish I knew but it obvious many of these "pain doctors" are too quick with handing out the medicines, not following up on these patients and then not dealing with the fallout they are helping to create.

A Thai airline is hiring 'Ladyboy' flight attendants. A comment (joke) from Jay Leno about the situation, cracked me up: "Before the game, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano told everybody that if you see something not right at the Super Bowl, let somebody know. Immediately, 50 million people called after Christina Aguilera did the national anthem" -- Jay Leno

Yes, Chick-fil-A Says, We Explicitly Do Not Like Same-Sex Couples
KYTOP replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
I have eaten at Chick-fil-A very often. I think anyone that has eaten there very much is aware they are closed on Sundays and are owned by a religious family. I have no problem with that and actually always thought being closed on Sundays to be quite respectful and sort of a throw-back to the days of my youth when I spent my summers at my grandparents in the country. An uncle who owns a convenience store/gas station there now still closes on Sunday. My Grandmother was religious and a Baptist and probably one of the most loving, caring people I have ever met. I miss her dearly. But I think being religious and closing on Sunday is one thing and supporting anti-gay groups are another. One of their stores providing food to any group doesn't bother me but actively supporting anti-gay groups does. Will I still eat there? I honestly don't know. Ford Motor use to advertise in Gay publications and when they cut some ads a few years ago people were throwing stones at them, which I thought was stupid since they had been supportive in the past. I just bought a new Ford myself last summer. Bought American and from a company that did not take a Federal bailout. (Great car by the way I am well pleased so far) The head of Target has donated to candidates that seem anti-gay but have also given to candidates that are pro-gay rights. I still shop there. I am sure some of the candidates I have donated to in the past probably do not have perfect gay rights records but were supportive of other things that were important to me. Cracker Barrel restaurants had some gay discrimination issues a few years ago but that is where my Mom wanted to eat on her birthday last month so I took her there. My gaydar went off a few times with a couple of their waiters while we were there. Budweiser pulled the distributorship here in my hometown about 10 years ago when the distributor actively gave money to fight our gay rights ordinance. This was after all the gay bars refused to sell or stock Budweiser. So talking with your wallet can work sometimes. So where does one draw the line? Will I think twice before eating at Chick-fil-A again? Sure, but if I crave one of their chicken sandwiches, ah, ah, ah I am not sure. -
Yes but the actors, including the naked butt belong to underage teenagers. Therefore child porn charges could apply. If they had used an older actor that just looked young they would not have an issue. The issue may also be with what is now on the cutting room floor. Even nudity by underage teens that is on the cutting room floor could still present them with a problem. The show has been rated TV-MA for audiences over 17 years old but Neilson ratings show at least 1/3 of the audience was below that age.

I would pick the Packers and the Jets. I use to be a Pittsburg fan but I just cannot bring myself to like their QB Ben Roethlisberger.

It looks like the show may have some legal issues and may be violating Child Porn laws? It looks like some of the MTV exec's have ordered some cutting of parts of future episodes and even talked about legal problems they could face including jail time at a quickly called meeting after the first episode aired. If you had a teenager, would you want your teenager to watch it? Taco Bell has already pulled it's ads from the show. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/20/business/media/20mtv.html?ref=television http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/01/20/mtv-worried-scenes-new-series-skins-prosecutable-child-pornogoraphy-report-says/

I ran across this story today and thought I would share it. It is a sad story but also one of compassion from a Southwest Airline's pilot. I've linked 2 stories so you might get the whole picture of the story. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1346716/Airline-pilot-holds-plane-family-murdered-toddler.html http://www.elliott.org/blog/southwest-airlines-pilot-holds-plane-for-murder-victims-family/ As a person that has traveled often and missed connections by minutes and also as a grandfather I can appreciate this pilot's act of kindness and compassion.

Well said and you make alot of good points. With that said I think it is too bad so many are trying to make political points from this tragedy. We should all grieve for those killed, their families and keep those wounded in our thoughts. Hopefully the courts will determine the outcome of the rest.
