I think you've got the right idea. Be upfront, don't pretend it's a date. By all means offer to have a drink off the clock to be sociable, then mention something like how hard a time you are having paying a bill. Everyone knows what you're saying (I need to be paid), and they should make it clear pretty quickly that they're willing to pay. I agree with your premise that if they are hitting on an apparently straight guy, they would expect to have to offer you something to play. But if they're hitting on you don't you think they might already have an idea that you'd swing their way? I know that some gays have the fantasy of converting a straight guy, but I really think that is a small minority. Most gay guys want to play with another gay guy who's into having sex with guys. If you look like the picture you posted, I'd be thrilled if you responded to my hitting on you. What the hell...you wouldn't even have to look like that picture for me to be thrilled if you responded to my hitting on you. Of course, most of us older guys wouldn't even think of hitting on you because we wouldn't consider our odds of success very good. So possibly, the older gay guys hitting on your are very sure of themselves and assume that you'd want to play with them for free. You'd probably do better doing the hitting on older gay guys who aren't hitting on you because they'd be blown away by your interest in them. Have fun. You certainly seem to have the right attitude.

As a native of the San Francisco Peninsula I have never used Frisco. But San Francisco and SFO are interchangeable to me as I fly in and out on average 10 times per year. San Fran is acceptable to natives.

Damn...I've had no interest in this show, but now I'm second guessing myself. I may finally have to check it out. Like Oz, the only way I would check it out would be starting with season 1 episode 1. It will have to wait though, I'm just starting Boardwalk Empire Season 3, having just finished The Borgia's Season 3 (although I really have a problem calling 8 episodes a season).
