I saw him in a like 300-audience venue in New Haven in 1981. Ahhh. Best live performance ever. (He made the prior month's huge silliness I had seen by Billy Idol at Wolf Trap Farm look like a Richie Rich cartoon.)

RA1, thx. That explains to me why I found this so weird and unusual -- in NC like TN, truly horrible weather sneaks in under cover of just normally lousy weather. Little or no visual warning until too late.

P.S. If I already said this earlier, forgive, but of course a good bit of tight-budget '60s shows were live-to-tape, with whatever happened. My beloved Dark Shadows top of that list. There is even an episode or two where Frid muffed his lines so badly (which is really to say something! ) that he called out "STOP TAPE" -- but they did not. So it was broadcast that way.
