Well, I didn't have the nerve to take a picture, but while waiting to see Brighton Beach Memoirs at the Old Globe last night, there was a young man also waiting who was stunningly beautiful, such that you had to wonder how he got through life without people becoming enamored of his looks. He had styled black hair, glistening eyes, a wide mouth with thick lips, and, when he smiled his whole face lit up. I know we see handsome people all the time, but geez, this guy was just stellar. I walked away lest I go nuts.

I know that we have all made a pledge of sorts to keep matters from the other site off of this one, but something recently happened that I find very hard to believe. So, if you want to know what it is, send me a private message and I will see if it is worth making a point out of it. (Note: If I do respond, it will not be on this board.)

I copied this from the Washington Post, on the theory that if I just linked it, it might not get read. Since the Post got the info from the CDC, i don't feel so bad copying it: CDC: One in five sexually active gay urban men has HIV Here's an update on the AIDS epidemic from one of my colleagues, Darryl Fears: One in five gay men in the United States has HIV, and almost half of those who carry the virus are unaware that they are infected, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study released Thursday. The study, which tested more than 8,000 men in 21 cities in 2008, the most comprehensive such study by the CDC, found that young, sexually active gay men and those in minority groups are least likely to know their health status, even as infection rates are climbing among men who have sex with men, while the rates of other at-risk groups -- heterosexuals and intravenous drug users -- are falling. The findings were published Thursday in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly report and were released ahead of National Gay Men's HIV Awareness Day on Sept. 27. A CDC official called for a sharper focus on testing. "This study's message is clear: HIV exacts a devastating toll on men who have sex with men in America's major cities, and yet far too many of those who are infected don't know it," said Kevin Fenton, director of the CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention. Cities in the study include Baltimore, where the prevalence rate among men who have sex with men was highest at 38 percent, and Atlanta, where it was lowest at 6 percent. In the District, where the general HIV/AIDS prevalence rate is about 4 percent, more than 16,000 adults, one of the highest numbers in the nation, has the virus, according to the city Department of Health. According to the CDC study, the District had a 14 percent prevalence rate among men who have sex with men. In the Atlantic region, New York had a rate of 29 percent, Philadelphia had a rate of 11 percent and Newark had a rate of 19 percent. The more impoverished the men were, the more likely they were to be infected, the study found. A CDC spokeswoman said the recent study's findings were similar to those of a National Health Behavioral Study conducted between June 2004 and April 2005, when one in four gay men tested positive for the virus. But the percentage of minorities who tested positive changed dramatically in the three years since the previous study. Back then, 46 percent of gay black men tested positive in the smaller study, compared to 40 percent in the larger 2008 study. Black gay men outpaced white and Hispanic men in both studies. In the earlier study, Hispanics represented 18 percent of the infected compared to 23 percent in the most recent study. White men comprised 21 percent of the infected in 2004-2005 and 20 percent in the more recent study. By Darryl Fears

Now the Reverend Ted Haggard has joined the fray, reminding us that the Pastor is innocent until proven guilty. Haggard is kind of an expert on the subject!

Not from Glee, but nice:

towleroad.com introduces us to the photography of Jeff Sheng, and his exhibit on Don't Ask, Don't Tell, on display at the Kaycee Olsen Gallery in Los Angeles until October 23d. A slide show of the very neat photos is here: http://www.jeffsheng.com/ And, if you want to watch discharge gay soldier wipe the floor with yet another anti-gay black minister, watch here: http://www.towleroad.com/2010/09/watch-dan-choi-wipes-the-floor-with-harry-jackson-on-dadt.html

While some of you might have been taken by the new blond hunk on Glee, I liked Harry Shum- at least his tight abs. Here in their full glory they are shown in a video by Tyler Shields:

Anti-gay Atlanta megachurch pastor Eddie Long encouraged favored boys to enter into a "covenant" with him, and encouraged them to call him "Daddy." From clatl.com: Bishop Eddie Long, already reeling from two lawsuits filed yesterday that allege the megachurch pastor coerced two young men into sex, has been hit with a third civil lawsuit that makes similar accusations. According to the lawsuit filed today in DeKalb County, Long welcomed Jamal Parris, who was 14 years old at the time, into his circle of "Spiritual Sons." Long allegedly lavished gifts on the small, intimate group of young male parishioners who'd entered into a "covenant" with the pastor. Much like the other lawsuits, Long is accused of using his spiritual position and scripture to defend the alleged sexual encounters. The relationship turned sexual after 2004, the lawsuit claims, when Parris, who by then was 17 and had started working at New Birth as Long's personal assistant, accompanied the pastor on trips across the country in the church's private plane and made private visits to his DeKalb County guesthouse and living area at the megachurch. According to the suit, in 2009, Parris — whom Long allegedly encouraged to call him "Daddy" — started a relationship with a girlfriend, distanced himself from the pastor, and ultimately left the church. The suit, which alleges coercion, negligence and fraud, seeks unspecified damages. Craig Gillen, Long's attorney, was not immediately available for comment. A news conference has been scheduled for Thursday morning, the AJC reports. More details on that as they become available.

I can see it when if follow Oz's link, but not when I go to the page on my own. Among the top posters, both Stu Cotts and Townsend P. Locke are MIA.

Okay, so you see him in his tank top at Grand Central. Do you gawk? No. My first priority would be to pick my jaw up from the floor.

You liked the Nip and Tuck scenes too? Here they are for those who missed them:

Granted there are some videos posted here of very hot guys, but I still would give all for Mario Lopez. Here's a video on him that I liked, and be sure to checkout his sweat pants: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w56Wnz4qsxo

If I could interrupt the Matrix/Draker nuptials for a moment, I see that there may be a real contest here between Lurker Speaks and Zipperzone as to who posts the most pix. Once my time as the name for The Pub runs out, could the next name be The Zipper Zone or Lurker's Locker? Stay tuned!

A welcome from matrix is a thing to cherish. I have no doubt that it is really sincere and that he is happy to have you here. That said, why do you care if he wants you here or not? You have as much right to be here as he does. We have done a pretty good job of co-existing here and I hope it continues. You do not need to apologize for something that happened elsewhere...that's what TY means by fresh start. I think!

I think I will be clicking image to enlarge all night.

Obama conned the nation into electing him, Gingrich says, and is ruling the country as a 1950s Kenyan tribesman would: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2010/09/12/2010-09-12_former_speaker_newt_gingrich_barack_obamas_election_a_wonderful_con_president_di.html
