Nowadays many online newspapers allow the reader to comment on the article. It is a rather worthless endeavor on the larger papers, because who is going to read through 400 and some comments to see yours? But some actually rank the comments according to "most popular" so you at least get the gist of them. So guess what? I comment...a lot. I love to see people respond to what I say, and maybe get a rise out of a diehard conservative. Today the SFgate.com has an article on a gay lawyer running against an incumbent judge. It seems the incumbent wants to speak at the gay community center, but some nitwit said that was a bad idea given that he was opposing a gay man. Turns out the incumbent will be trotting out his lesbian sister from Iowa or Idaho for the occasion. But the columnist wants to make the candidate look bad for the nitwit's comment. What would you have said? (BTW- the gay lawyer running is author Michael Nava, who has written a series of gay detective novels, and is widely respected as a writer of many appellate court opinions as well. Don't be thinking that being gay in San Francisco is automatically gonna get you elected either. Those quys know how to eat their own.)

I entered the word I read here- potched- and all Google would give was poached.

Let's hope we don't have Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina overseeing anything come January. Whitman thinks if she just bids high enough, she can win. Fiorina is a failed executive at a big corporation, why does she think she can run a state?

And then just how are we to mark the spot?

It's hard enough watching Sarah Palin, but watching her daughter dance may be harder. She is luckier than the Situation, who also cannot dance at all, because she has Mark, a really skilled dancer, to make her look better. The Situation cannot lead, as Mark can, so he loses some of the benefit of his teacher, whose name escapes me. Why am I watching Dancing with the Stars? Well, truthfully, I only watch for Derek Hough. Boy, can he dance. But now, with Bristol and The Situation, well, you look to see who is going to fall down first. But, Levi and the Situation, yes, I would watch. I would even watch Derek and The Situation. The Situation....and he has us calling him that?!

The old Switch a Roo - Hotel Vending Machines Scam
Lucky replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
Ho-Ho Hotels do that all the time. Next thing you know, they will ask you to save water by not having your room cleaned that day- at all! The poor maids lose out, you don't get your room cleaned, and Oz gets no ho's in his room! -
That boy couldn't take all of Ralph in his mouth, but he sure did take it all in his ass. Matrix- next?

Well, I didn't watch it all, BUT, I did get a kick out of you asking to have a post deleted. Me, I just edit them to death. Now everyone sing along....it's raining, it''s pouring... -
My post was meant to be light-hearted. After all, I do edit them a lot.
-
Don't let me catch you editing a post...not to mention getting one deleted!

Who knows how to win hearts and minds better than Lookin?

31 years ago he cruised my roommate at the grocery. That's as first hand as I can get on this.
-
Good point on those admin costs, CharlieSF. (Giving directly to me would reduce that.) And no one is happy with mail and phone requests either. Go to the grocery, Costco, Walgreens, the movies, etc, and they all want you to make a donation today to whatever cause they deem just.

And, not to leave anyone out:

Adult men voluntarily agreeing to ban discussions of politics on a gay message board? Okay with me, as I have never seen anyone change his mind due to a political discussion here...or over there!
-
I'm guessing that this is a rhetorical question! But, if not, then surely a bank would go slow when someone waved money at them. It's not as they don't have enough real foreclosures to deal with. And, even with those it reportedly can take two years from start to finish if you fight it.

Tomcal's Lurkin Zipper Forum? (The Lurkin includes a nod to lookin...)

There are some guys I would pay...if I could...just to get their attention. But the news on Noah Driver is surely disappointing and I could not imagine hiring hi if these facts bear out. But, as jimboiyvo points out, most of those bitching never would have been hiring him anyway. So let's wish him the best and hope he gets things in order. As for Daddy, when he first met me in a restaurant in Seattle not long after Hooboy's death, he told me his plan to get donations rolling in. So he may have accepted the consequences of his decision to go to foreclosure, but I sure wonder where those donations went.

The Gallery at the other site has proved to be a huge success despite initial misgivings by some. Either way is okay with me, but please take note: the name The Zipper Zone as a forum name was my idea!!!!

Donating funds is a sore subject today. There is an inordinate amount of good causes to pick from, and an equal number of scammers who will take your last dollar crying all the time how much they will put it to a good cause. I feel for those who really need help and give it when I can. Since I have cut escorts out, I find I still don't have much to give after I give to family and friends in need. So it is up to you guys who do have a few bucks to follow up on this.
-
Coy about specifics only because I was weighing whether to bring the subject up at all. We are told that we should sometimes wait to post, but when I did Mr. Yankee got his goose in a gander thinking I was hiding something. MsGuy is right- it was the foreclosure issue and the question of what good faith donations were asked for and received in order to prevent or delay it. I chose not to go into the question, but since Mr. Yankee is predisposed to find fault with me, I couldn't win either way I went. He and I did not get along so well back in the Hooville days and he does not want to let that go. See, for example, his comments in the kindergarten thread on September 13th when even my nemesis matrix told him he was overreacting. Beyond that, even if it were about Driver, my concerns are my concerns. If I decide that I don't want to be the one to bring it up, I am not "off-base." But Mr. Yankee just couldn't resist.
-
Your presumptuousness is what is off base as this was not what I had in my mind when I posted what I did. You keep making these digs at me and I don't like it. You chastised me earlier for this month even though you were off-base, and if you want me to stop posting here I will.

What does war do to our youth? Here's one example, where a good-looking young soldier tells about going around whacking innocent civilians in Afghanistan for the fun of it. See the video: http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/27/soldier-describes-murder-of-afghan-for-sport-in-leaked-tape/?hp

So the guy I saw with the most tokens this morning had all of a dime? Wow.
