My good friend is in Rio and Sao Paulo for a month. He's been there since Thursday or Friday of last week and has been posting a lot on Facebook; he's even has had two or three very, very very torrid fun times with one guy he had last October and the other whom he saw and got the hots for and left him with a huge afterglow last evening as well as some "good pain" for the next few days. He emailed two pics of this guy and might consider posting them here but is slightly reluctant because he thinks that the majority of guys who post here are truly into "Twinks." Neither of his dates was considered to be a "Twink!" I saw both of these guys, too, when I was in Rio de janeiro in October 2011.

In terms of altitude, how does one go about rectifying the situation prior to going there? When I went to Peru, I did not get ill in Machu Picchu, but the altitude did affect me in the other town/city whose name is just not coming out of my brain for me to write it. I even drank the tea, too!

I hope the rate is in your favor when you arrive within a few days. When I was first there in 2002, the exchange rate was R$3.50 to one dollar. It stayed that way for almost two years or more afterwards before gaining much more significantly during latter part of the last decade.

I began watching Season 12 of American Idol about three weeks ago and took an interest in the last singers left. From the two left standing, I truly wanted Joshua to be amongst them. Well, he wasn't as Adam wasn't last year. Foul on America. She doesn't know talent when she sees it. But all is not for naught! From his talent Joshua should go far as Jennifer Hudson and others who didn't compete in the end for the coveted title and contract. Apparently, he himself was not too distraught or upset based on what I've read and from his reaction the other night. I don't know if a few tears were shed by him or not, but he seemingly took it in stride from his last performance prior to their tour.

Thailand is still one of my favorite destinations to visit for all of the same reasons as mentioned in the preceding post, but as Firecat stated oh so succinctly: "...there are many wonderful places to visit in this world." That is where I am right now. Some day I hope to return to "The Land of Smiles," to all of its culture, its ambience, its "hot but "maturish men" [-] on my part! I do appreciate having this thread originating. I, too, like to read innumerable threads about Thailand as well as Brasil.

You have a tad bit over a month before you'll be in "The Marvelous City," Rio de janeiro! As I wrote above, "enjoy immensely;" plan to share with us when it is very convenient for you. If it has to come after you return, so be it! I'm always "up" for a good read as well as some vicarious reading!

Both iphguy and TomCal gave you some salient advice and guides. Sao Paulo is a large, large city! When I was there I used taxis and feet only as my mode of transport. I had two different guides on two trips and my friend on my 3rd one there. We did all of the saunas that were existing then; now there appears to be three; two are referenced above. If you want a guide, try to hire Danilo; he was my guide during my second trip; he was 18 then. He's now in his middle 20s and is "heaven." He's one beautiful man who has a partner. He has some high tourist position now, but if you'd contact him, he perhaps might oblige. Have your itinerary ready. Read before you go. Do a google check, and for gay info. checkout www.gaytravelbrazil.com and other gay sites that are referenced.

Hope he's in Prague when I plan to be there in September or October. My only problem is that I will be with a tour group and will have limited time. I'll make the better of it; if it becomes too overwhelming with delights, I will definitely have to return on my own or with a friend!!

I liked The Atlantico Hotel for its previous value and location and did NOT find the place too bad in terms of decor. I always abhorred the lobby and registration area though. Stayed at the Rio Copa Palace back in 2006 and loved the place; it was on par of a "W" Hotel. Last October my friend and I rented a reasonably priced two bedroom apartment in Copacabana which was a block from the Avenida Atlantica [beach area]. We were only a mere block from the agency's offices which were located in an apartment block on the 12th or 13th floor. ...convenient and did NOT cost us an arm or a leg or both. We plan to rent apartments from now on and from the agency Lurker used. They were quite amiable and accommodating.

Go back to presenting men from the Southern continent although I've always had the super-hots for Shamar Moore. He had a birthday the other day, and unknown to me had been posted on my Facebook page. I kept him alive until he disappeared as other posts arose. He's in my archives!

No, that is NOT just your perception. I was seeing a escort/student who lived in San Francisco a few years back. He was from Sao Paulo and mentioned that racism/racial prejudice existed in Brasil, but the Brasilians wanted to overlook this, THINK that it did not exist. He was of the complexion of some of the hotties who are in the pic. Not only are the sauna boys discriminated against, note those who are working. Note their complexions, etc. I saw the same thing in Cuba. But one does not have to leave these shores to note racial discrimination; you know it's in our own country but not as much as in the past; we are NOT in a post racial society in the USA.
