I had a good experience with Blue too. He is cute and bubbly. He is vietnamese and really a good boy. Seeing him again next week during my Bangkok weekend trip. We’ll probably have dinner together and i will also update on my trip since i already eyeing 4-5 new massage places this time.

Thanks for the pics, @aaroninatl . Some of the guys are looking quite buff and I take back and have deleted my Marlon Brando comment from my previous post. I agree that associating muay thai with HIV is not only tenuous but betrays a total lack of understanding of how HIV is transmitted and, coming from a guy who proudly bragged about taking advantage of a young man whom he himself said was high on drugs, is just plain hypocritical.

Second what msclwrshp said, I'm back in Bkk in a few weeks and looking to try out one or more of those places. I visited Sense (with Singha who was incredible, as has been widely mentioned on here) and also TCS Spa where I had an underwhelming session with Ruj.

For sleep disruption and jet lag… I highly recommend the iPhone app called Time Shifter. This app lets you put in your flights, and then it gives you a very specific plan of pre and post trip sleep schedules, looking a bright light or keeping it dark, and using caffeine. It also has an option to use melatonin at specific intervals. I travel all around the world every month for my work and for pleasure… and this app works. You have to follow the plan (it sends you reminders on when to look at bright light, when to wear sunglasses, when to rest, sleep, take caffeine, etc. you typically start the day before and a few days after long intercontinental trips. But it works.

look on the App Store for Time Shifter. You get one free trip plan, and then you have to pay. Look for the app pictured.

you can use it for your journey home.

They did have a couple twinks but yeah the overbearing staff and muscle dudes hovering was just way too much.  And to be fair, it's not just Tawan... being low season, many times when you walk in, you're the only customer in the place and people gotta eat so I get it why they pounce.

The phrase: «Arena never disappoints» is likely to pop out.

You will also find a shop called Titan at the ground floor in that plaza. You can try it out too, but I hope they increased their quality control in recent months…

Haha thank you.  But Dream and Fresh were really the only ones we stayed for more than 10 minutes. One place my buddy wanted to check out is Arena.  I don't think I've read anything about it. Going to do a deep dive now to see what you guys have said about it.  Sounded intriguing.

    Friday night update...

The night started with dinner at Sarica.  I never went to the old place but I'm told this was a nice reno.  Unfortunately the waitstaff training didn't get as much attention as the architecture.  Brutally slow and incompetent.  The food was a mix... the forum member I met up wth had a great chicken cashew dish.  I should've gone with that.  I had a little sample and it was great.  The burger I ordered was meh.  But the service was the big miss.  His meal landed at our table about 20 minutes before mine.  And after the first bite I kind of wished they'd forgotten to deliver it altogether.
My forum pal wingman for the night had never been to the gogo bars so I figured we'd start with what I still think is the best of the bunch... Dream Boy. Dozens of guys tonight... huge selection.  Surprisingly not as many customers as there were when I visited midweek last week.  I figured on a Friday night the place would be jumpin'.  There were several offables, but I wanted to show him a few more spots.

Next we did a quick walk by the massage parlors.  Then to go from best to worst, we dropped by Golden Cock/Nature Boy.  It was livelier than my visit last week when I walked in and 2 not-so-attractive guys were sitting in silence.  Tonight there were 8 or 9 people dancing to some loud music... but it was nothing worth sticking around for.  I still don't quite get that place's existence.  It's not really a gogo bar is it?  Seems like a living room party with a few friends who all know each other.

Since my wingman tonight is more into muscle than I am, I figured it was time to lose my Tawan virginity.  This was an awful experience.  It was shady used car salesman pressure times 1000.  We were swarmed and couldn't take a breath without some over juiced behemoth begging for a tip.  I was ready to go within the first 3 mins... but I assumed my wingman was enjoying since there isn't much muscle in Thailand like this.  We'd only met tonight so I wasn't picking up on his cue that he was more than ready to get out asap too.  Never stepping foot in that place again. Yikes.

Stopped into Super A to see if the muscle boy was working.  He was. I got his Line info because neither of us wanted to be the only customers in the place.  We remarked how it’s hard to understand how that place stays in business.  When you turn on to the street the boys freak out and run into the bar to line up. It’s so awkward.  Some of the guys are cute too.  But their location is probably their big obstacle.

Last stop of the night was at Fresh Boy.  Again it seems like it was busier midweek last week when I dropped in on my first night.  Still lively though... guys weren't as hot as Dream, but there were a few off worthy guys.

My buddy called it an early night.  I popped my head briefly into Hotmale, but didn't see anything enticing. So no changes to my list.  Dreamboy retains the top spot.  I still haven't done Jupiter or Moonlight.  Will get to it.

    Friday September 4 Update...
Good morning from Jomtien.  Thanks to the local legend @bkkmfj2648 I got the whirlwind all in one night tour of both Pattaya City and Jomtien. I took the BTS from Silom to the airport and he virtually navigated me to the $5 busses to Pattaya. Sat next to a cute (but straight) chatty twink from Hong Kong who was going to Pattaya to visit friends. Was lucky to hit no traffic and arrived in Pattaya about 3 hours after leaving Silom. I wasn't the only American in town... 5,000 sailors made me #5,001.  We saw a small sample of the military boys in town, but seems like they stayed far to the north near their ship.

I don't have a bar by bar breakdown because honestly it's all a blur and they run together in my mind.  But my overall thought... I'm glad I made the trip and when I come back from Chiang Mai in October, I think I'll spend a couple more nights here in Jomtien. Pattaya was kind of run down as I anticipated.  But I didn't realize Jomtien would be so different.  The 2 were one and the same in my head before this visit.  Supertown in Jomtien was a much nicer vibe, cleaner and fun.  Now I will have to say we went through Pattaya's Boyz Town at a very early hour before the bars got jumpin'.  I'm just going off the neighborhood walk.
We first grabbed a bite to eat at Tinnie's in Jomtien.  I hesitantly ordered chicken parm.  When a restaurant features several types of cuisine in the US, that's usually not a good sign.  While it wasn't the best chicken parm I've had, I didn't regret the choice.  @bkkmfj2648 gave me the rundown for the night. Next we did something I'd been wanting to do but had no idea how they work... we jumped in the back of one of those pickup trucks where you just hop on and off for 15 baht.  Fortunately he knew the routes and process because I'd have been too chickenshit to try it myself.
When we arrived in Pattaya City I startled him because I was having an orgasm and heart attack at the same time at the sight of what might have been the most beautiful guy I'd seen on this trip so far. He wasn't Asian. Probably American. He had a chiseled face of art, was wearing a loose white shirt and pants... I was just stunned. As for the rest of PC, it was less beautiful.  But I'm glad we checked it out.  Had I not been up at 6am, we might have gone back.  But I was dozing off at the of the bars by 11pm.
When we got back to Jomtien, we caught the boys on the street bars doing their dance routines.  The thing that struck me right away was they actually appeared to be enjoying themselves. They smiled.  They laughed.  They pranked each other on stage.  So many of the guys on stage in Bangkok just evoke pity and sorrow as they stand there motionless waiting to get off'd.  These boys were not sending off the "my life is miserable, save me" vibe.

Now I like younger guys... generally college up to about 28.  Think Ryan Phillippe in Cruel Intentions. That's my sweet spot.  A little muscle is ok. But twink status is my thing.  The boys in Jomtien looked too young for even me lol... I didn't think that was even possible.  Most were about 100 pounds and 5'2.  (Yours truly is well over 6 feet tall.). I was assured these guys were all in their 20s, but man I'd have to have 4 forms of ID if I were to off many of them.

We bounced around from bar to bar all night... from "pillow bars" to cabarets to the street bars.  All had a unique appeal.  I really can't pick a favorite.  There were some really cute massage boys sitting outside their parlors too. I liked the vibe of Supertown.  It's more unified than Silom where I"m staying in Bangkok.  I like that it's one continuous stretch without having to wander a few blocks.

Besides the guys appearing to be happy, the other most striking thing was the detail in all the shows. The choreography and costumes... it's not usually a big draw for me. I'm visiting places like this to stimulate other senses.  But the effort these guys in all the bars in Supertown put in is really impressive.

I tipped many of the talent... but not as much as @bkkmfj2648.  I think the dude funded a few college educations last night.  I didn't do an off since honestly I wasn't horned up... my Grindr guy back in Bangkok has kept me satiated.  Plus after waking up at 6am (unnecessarily ugh) and the trip from Silom to the airport to Pattaya on the bus, I was going to bed solo.  I snagged a few Line numbers in case any want to have a session this morning, but most gave the impression nothing happens for them before noon. I get it.  I was that age.  But I'm a morning wood kinda guy lol

Heading back to Bangkok today but the Pattaya excursion was definitely worth it.  Pretty sure I'll do a 2-3 day visit when I come back in October.

This is a GREAT example for why members here r called upon to recommend worthy providers as much as possible (and warn against unworthy ones),
contrary to the popular atitude that such recs and warnings r to b avoided bcs they r too subjective or interaction-specific.
