Thanks for the very interesting and timely reports @Slvkguy I have just one small question: do the sauna guys, or young Brazilian men generally, still ask you to wear a condom to suck you off? I’m not a person of color but I’ve extensive experience of/in Barcelona over 25 years. I believe POC get treated equally. I’ve never witnessed in Barcelona the discrimination based on skin color that I have seen in various countries of Latin America. Barcelona has all sorts of ethnicities. Unless you’re very expert in Spanish, I doubt you’ll be able to tell whether you’re speaking to a Catalan, Cuban, Argentine or Peruvian.

It’s always good to see bureaucracy becoming more efficient in the US. As an aside, the UK Passport Office has offered a same-day renewal service for more than 20 years. You have to reserve a time-slot and take your old passport in about 9.30am to collect the new one after 2pm. Last time I did this, the total cost was about $160.

The problem I can foresee is at Border Control where your ‘Beautiful Creature’ will be quizzed about his trip, where he’s staying for how long and the nature of your relationship. You should certainly rehearse his answers with him in advance of his visit. I did something similar to what you propose with a blond Argentine muscleboy. I invited to stay with me for 4 weeks in Europe. He never spoke English with me, but he held a senior post in the civil service. He had with him a letter I’d drafted saying we were friends and I’d be responsible for his costs while in Europe, and emphasizing that he’d be returning to his senior job and his flat in Recoleta, Buenos Aires. Yes. Your links don’t work (for me, at least). The website you need for both hotels is www.axel hotels.com The first named is the original hotel - the first in BCN aimed at the gay market. It’s classed as 4* but that’s generous IMO. I haven’t stayed there in 12 years but the rooms and bathrooms were basic and service was almost non-existent. It’s more 2*-3* in my view. The location is very good as you can easily walk everywhere and see the sights, visit restaurants etc. As it happens I looked to buy an apartment in the vicinity of that hotel. It’s a smart area. I ended up buying near the second hotel named. The main difference in my view for a gay male visitor is convenience. If you plan to spend lots of time in the gay sauna Thermas, the second hotel is only 5-6 minutes walk from it. The location is decent, good lower middle-class area, residential and it’s a short walk to the stop for the Airport bus (which is rapid and cheap).

I recall him @pauleiro He was a beautiful young man at 21 (and I had one great date with him) but later he filled out and became chubby. He tried to work for years, using very old photos, and he had a bad attitude.

You may have more luck @Alex_Berl if you start a separate thread. Put your request as something like “Seeking hotel & recommendations for Salvador” I’m sure there are posters here who are also travelers that stayed in Salvador but they will see your request more easily if it stands alone as a thread.

Perhaps the escorts have had so little income in the past year or so that they are now trying to make up the shortfall. Perhaps they are just being greedy. I don’t want to upset you but before you go, please check online for the local Covid-related restrictions. Various regions of Spain are relaxing their rules but NOT Catalonia so far. It has just extended the closure of nightlife for another week. And you need to wear the proper masks outdoors or risk being heavily fined.

Thanks for writing a full report @young11. You've had good advice here: Never pay upfront, and Exit straightaway if you feel threatened. You should have phoned the police (999 in the UK) once you were outside. I'd just add one caution: Never flash your wallet/money to a stranger. You should have put the money in one pocket, some extra plus a credit card in another pocket, and leave the rest in your hotel-room safe. I hope you have some good experiences soon, and put this bad experience behind you. At least, you avoided getting hurt.

As I read the reports of @Uqtyang he was asked for 200 but he countered, and it was agreed, that the guy must cum for that price. IIRC the rate previously was often 150 but cum was always an ‘extra’ 50-100. IMO @Uqtyang is a smart negotiator
