  1. When was your last trip to Jupiter? 😄
  2. You're the king of asinine comparisons and ridiculous statistics.
  3. I find it somewhat obscene to compare CIA actions with using toxic gases to murder tens of thousands of one's own citizens. Well, having to live in Russia for the rest of one's life is at least some form of punishment, unless he's allowed to live along the Black Sea coast, such as Anapa, Gelendjik, Novorossiysk, or Sochi.
  4. There were plenty of people who defended the perpetrator before he was identified. But yes, you are right, the LPSG string is full of men who are absolutely mesmerized by his gorgeous good looks. My favorite was the man who wanted to sentence him to "Death by Snu-Snu," with the sentence carried out by himself.
  5. Well, Cafe des Artistes is definitely not on the beach. La Palapa does have a section of tables in the sand on the beach, so I suggested that one as the alternative to CdA. The youngest was well in his 30s, so I didn't consider either of them "boys." CdA has an "outdoor" garden area, but their dress code still applies. There are other nice restaurants with dress codes such as the Casa Kimberly restaurant, and maybe Tintoque. We might be seeing these two for Independence Day, to visit Saugatuck for our first time. Maybe in Saugatuck during the summer no places have a dress code, but I'll have plenty of button-down short-sleeved shirts and polo shirts nevertheless. We did consider the buying a shirt tactic. We might try Pho PV on our next trip to PV. We'll probably skip PV next year, though, since in December (our usual month to travel there), we're taking our first cruise to Antarctica. 😃
  6. We're finishing a week in Puerto Vallarta, and while we were here, we ran into some casual acquaintances from a colder city in the US. They are fairly well-off financially. Since we've both been here many times (a dozen for my hubbie, and over 2 dozen times for me), we told them of one of our favorite restaurants, where we had dinner, the River Cafe. I was a bit embarrassed (but said nothing) to seem them in tank-tops (one is in his 30s, the other in his 50s). They enjoyed it, and my husband said that maybe the next day we could go to my personal favorite restaurant, Cafe des Artistes. They agreed. I then said that they have a smart casual dress code--the shirt should have a collar. They said that it would have to be some other year, since they did not bring one single shirt which had a collar, just tank-tops and one T-shirt. We ended up going to another restaurant we both liked, La Palapa, and this time they at least wore T-shirts. For myself, I can't imagine going on a trip without at least some polo shirts, or other shirts with collars. Is this a thing? Have any of you gone on a vacation, and not brought along a single shirt which had a collar? https://www.cafedesartistes.com/en/nuestros-espacios https://rivercafe.com.mx/river-cafe-gallery/ https://www.lapalapapv.com/photo-gallery
  7. Incredible--all of the merchandise already out!
  8. It's really incredible what people are posting....
  9. I do find it incredible that there are all of these men on that LPSG string who want him set free!
  10. We had dinner at a nice restaurant in Puerto Vallarta today, and my husband said "Everything is reminding me of Luigi..."
  11. Rescue me Luigi! 😆
  12. China, not densely populated? Just when I thought you couldn't make a more ridiculous statement. Are you trying to kill me by having me laugh myself to death over your posts (don't answer that)? Well, I guess they do have the large and uninhabitable Gobi Desert, but you've either never done any serious traveling in China, or pulling some pretty incredible BS out of one of your orifices. And to compare it to the UK and Israel, which are tiny and densely-inhabited countries? Why not compare the population density with Monaco?
  13. This episode reminds me also of the murderous Menendez brothers. I remember at the time, oh so long ago, thinking "They're so hot! Too bad they're cold-blooded killers." Andrew Cunanan, Versace's murderer, could have made better use of his good looks as well: The buzz in the internet says Luigi's bisexual. Oh, how I would have liked to have the opportunity to buy some of his sexual! Luigi's case is different in that his victim was earning an obscene $10 million a year in a rather nefarious manner. That doesn't make murder OK, but does decrease the sympathy for the victim.
  14. Wow. Thanks--that thread is super-hot! It looks as though his back problems threw him over the edge. I guess that some really hot men think they're above the law, like that dude who killed Gianni Versace. Too bad I missed his OnlyFans page, which has been taken down. Almost wants me want to get incarcerated along with him! 😍 https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/crime/luigi-mangione-spondylolisthesis-surgery-missing-unitedhealthcare-ceo-b2661804.html
  15. I trust that you mean overthrown democratically, not a la Trump. It seems almost axiomatic that the economy will be in a shambles, particularly with respect to inflation, given the insane tariff wars which appear to be coming up. I'm not sure if the big change in Congress will be in 2 years or 4, but it seems inevitable. In the meantime, I've been moving funds from stocks to bonds.
  16. Yes, a loved one's claim was denied. That CEO, who earned $10 million a year, hasn't exactly generated an enormous amount of sympathy. I suppose that one can never condone murder, but hot damn, that man is incredibly handsome... 😍
  17. Have you guys seen photos of the suspect in the killing of the UHC insurance company CEO. Luigi Mangione? Jesus Fukin' Christ! What a 10!
  18. I've haven't heard any media reporting this as a victory for democracy. Indeed, many report that things may get even worse for the citizens of Syria (especially the Kurds and the non-Sunni). There is no denying that this shows Putin in an embarrassing light, since he was unable to support his own puppet, who was providing Russia with its only naval base in the Mediterranean. This new regime may prove to be a disaster for many. Only a fool can deny this is an embarrassment for the Russian Federation, though. The only good that could come of this for the US is if Russia loses its military bases to Turkey. Syria has been a thorn in the side of the US for decades, and might continue to be so. At least hopefully it won't be so aligned with Russia and Iran. Time will tell.
  19. Assad brutally murdered tens of thousands with chemical agents, and EK turns this string into a pro-Trump post. Pretty disgusting. I heard on the news that Turkey helped the rebels. Maybe the Russian bases could be turned over to Turkey?
  20. I suspect it's going to be a dictatorship again, but the developments over the coming weeks will be fascinating. I wonder if the new government will allow the Russians to keep their military bases, for example.
  21. But they can tell if you're a Putin ass-licker... 😁
  22. The statistics obviously are entirely irrelevant to the fact of whether or not the boy is a terrorist--no more relevant than the price of eggs in Malawi. Deaths at the hands of police in the US is a complex issue, much of it revolving around issues of mental health and/or substance abuse. These days most cops wear body cameras, so any deaths at the hands of police can be easily investigated, and the police officers involved punished if they went too far. In some cases, the cops do go too far, such as George Floyd, but in others, disturbed and/or drugged individuals physically threatened the public and/or police officers, and their deaths can be considered "suicide by cop." Not following instructions given by a cop and being aggressive often leads to fatal consequences. This is more of an indictment on the US mental health care approach than an indictment of the police per se. Just recently, manslaughter charges were dismissed against a police officer who killed a violent, mentally disturbed, and drugged man who was threatening subway passengers in New York. Negligent homicide charges are still pending. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/jury-daniel-penny-trial-tells-judge-cant-reach-agreement-manslaughter-rcna183185 "...Neely [the victim], a former Michael Jackson impersonator, threw his jacket to the ground and loudly ranted about being hungry, thirsty and not caring about whether he died or went back to jail when he boarded the train, witnesses have testified. Penny put him in a chokehold that prosecutors said lasted six minutes. It continued after the uptown F train arrived at its next stop, the Broadway-Lafayette station, bystander video showed. Neely, 30, was homeless and had a history of mental illness. At the time of his death, he had synthetic marijuana — known as K2 — in his system...". This is a complex issue. The kid's is not. He was certainly not a terrorist, nor was he afforded a jury trial, as he would be guaranteed if he were in the US.
