Over the past couple of days a weird controversy has erupted over at wikipedia. A bunch of women want the term "girlfag" included on the site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girlfag They define a "girlfag" as a woman who identifies as a gay man and seeks out sex with gay men. They make a distinction between that and a "fag hag" who is primarily seeking friendship with gay men. Wikipedia doesn't believe they exist and wants to pull the entry. Several sites have now gotten into arguments about it. The most interesting is on Live Journal - http://community.livejournal.com/girlfags/77702.html - where Janet Hardy, the author of "The Ethical Slut" is arguing on the side of the girl fags. What do you guys think? Some weird feminine fantasy, or something that exists in the real world? What do you think wikipedia should do?

I think that when Craigslist started turning information over to the cops that a lot of escorts started getting worried about any additional information on them being on the web.

I think outing is pointless and dangerous because it puts people further into the closet and makes them do more and more reckless things. I think a lot of the public rest room culture - which is almost always unprotected - is based on people being closeted and I'm willing to bet that when closteted guys hook up on business trips or whatever they are going to be far, far less likely to use protection, because carrying condoms around would arouse their wives suspicions and make them have to confront what they are planning on doing.

Given that we spend so much tax money that we get no return on at all, I can't believe that people would be put off by their tax dollars going to help them stay healthy. We are the only western country that doesn't do this. If we reject this what's next - we'll decide we'd rather private police forces than local cops?

When I stop dating French dudes and find another ex-pat. My problem is I seem attracted to younger, insecure guys. I suspect that unless I get lucky t his problem will get worse as I get older!

Something I've noticed this summer. Every time a relationship is about to end I find myself smoking more - even though I'm not consciously aware that the relationship is about to end. I think from now on whenever I find myself smoking two packs instead of one a day, I'm going to start looking for a new partner, so I'm prepared for what's to come. Anyone else notice patterns in their lives when relationships are about to tank?
