  1. Janeway, away from Starfleet help and she still managed to guide her ship and crew to safety every damn week.
  2. The View from the Cherry Tree, I must've read that 10 times in 6th grade. Plus there was a Nancy Drew mystery, I can't recall the name, but I read it in 4th grade and it deals with a girl who is being abused by her relatives.
  3. It's an attraction like any else. Some people wax, some people dye their hair, some drink to excess.
  4. I've always avoided ALL scenes frankly cuz I hate being around too many people.
  5. I had a huge panic attack a couple of years back at work and thought I was going to die. Although it wasn't life threatening, I hadn't given a second thought when I got up that morning that it may have been my last day on earth. It certainly put a damper on things but it also made me realize that I had to take care of matters before the inevitable happens.
  6. I use H&R Block online. Those 1099s are a real pain with the schedule c's and all. Make sure you get offical IRS transcripts to show that you paid self employment taxes otherwise you may not get social security or medicare benefits.
  7. John Carter was introduced by Edgar Rice Burroughs in the 1917 book A Princess of Mars. He is described as 6'2" tall, clean-shaven, with close-cropped black hair and steel gray eyes.
  8. Carol: no daughter to look after so the family angle can be played by the Grimes. T-Dog: doesn't really do anything. Andrea: she's become a bit cocky but not strong enough to challenge Rick. Hershel and clan except for Maggie: I can't really see them living outside the farm.
  9. I created an excel program to keep tabs of my money and everytime I spend money I immediately update it. My dad who still does it old school with the statement he gets from the bank and no calculator.
  10. Why did you give us minds that can ponder the future but the bodies to not see those future events come to pass?
  11. My Beautiful Laundrette and The Fourth Man are two interesting movies from the 1980s that I've enjoyed.
  12. In no particular order: Ghost Hunters, Face Off, Finding Bigfoot, Walking Dead, Psych.
  13. I guess Cole Porter didn't have any beefcake pics for them to post on the list.
  14. She was part of the soundtrack of my junior high and high school years but the last few years she was basically the punchline to so many jokes. I hope she's happy wherever she is.
  15. I would like to see New York city. Watch a rocket take off. Go on a zero g airplane ride. Participate in a 5k run.
  16. I believe in the teachings of Jesus.
  17. As some may know, the Mayans and some other cultures declared that 2012 would mean the end of the world (12.21.2012 according to Mayans). With this in mind, I can see kind of an upside (no Xmas shopping!). But I wanted to start this thread as a repository for anything that might be of consequence about The End. Anything you hope to accomplish? Anyone you hope to hook up with? Any parting shots or thoughts? This is meant to be a fun thread but if you have thought provoking messages those would be welcomed as well. Now to be honest I have not thought of anything signifcant just yet but I'll come up with my list at a later time....
  18. I don't know, seems like the kind of guy a tween girl would be interested in.
  19. Just did my taxes today and found out that I pay a higher percentage of taxes than Mitt does.
  20. So are they going to go after the people who downloaded material like they have in the past?
  21. I'm uncut and it's never been a good or bad thing to me.
  22. Eh? You need a physics degree to figure out that phrase.
  23. Girth is nice to look at but it's a pain in the ass.
  24. Can you point to some article relating to the Tea Party starting out as a group hating Bush policies?
  25. Shervin Lalezary, the Iranian born part time cop who caught the LA arsonist.... Anyone else have any "real" non celebrity crushes from a news story?
