  1. The rich have gotten much much richer during coronavirus. Bezos gained $60 billion and bank deposits shot up 2 trillion: U.S. bank deposits increase by $2 trillion amid the coronavirus https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/21/banks-have-grown-by-2-trillion-in-deposits-since-coronavirus-first-hit.html?__source=androidappshare
  2. The BLM skate in San Diego was a success:
  3. Thermas Barcelona can't be far behind. Paragonya Zurich is open.
  4. The K Pop kids on Twitter were pretty open about inflating expectations for crowds. There was almost zero overflow crowd so there was just little enthusiasm. Both sides will play this photo-op game where to cameras the crowd looks big. In fact if you look at some candid pics, camerapeople and reporters and often most of the attendees. The campaign will use the best photos and much of the media will too.
  5. when you have to start your campaign speech off by proving you can drink with one hand: (where did they get all the blacks?)
  6. I assume this is small plate not entree. Lat can have my yucca,
  7. To be honest, I doubt many people in Tulsa ever wear masks or distance. In the meantime I just went to a carry out and leaving two young guys without masks were arguing loud on each side of the exit. I thought of asking the shop to let me exit another way but scared of a scene I just excused myself and brushed through them with just a cheap mask. As soon as I got home I stripped, showered and gargoled for ten minutes. It's getting tough out there.
  8. don't assume Democratic areas do much better. I have swarms of smug millennials without masks on all the sidewalks around my house in DC like this NYC pic:
  9. Roberts seems to be more pissed at Trump's ignoring judicial requirement of proper administrative procedure (The Administrative Procedure Act) than changing on substance. (The 5th overturned Obama's expansion of DACA on the same grounds.) The ability of DACA people to work or to get parole to marry into citizenship is still doubtful reading Roberts and many are now in their 40's. A good piece this morning: https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2020-06-18/daca-ruling-shows-john-roberts-doesn-t-trust-donald-trump
  10. But it's worth searching the decision to see if there's an indication they will uphold DACA (and DAPA) as constitutional when it gets to them.
  11. When you're on the highway and the other choices are McDonald's, Waffle House or truck stops, Cracker Barrel seems Michelin 3-star. Rated best chain: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sf/style/2017/12/12/which-is-better-applebees-or-cracker-barrel-our-critic-ranks-americas-most-popular-chains/
  12. But also people need to remember this case was not on the constitutionality of DACA but just on Trump's authority to unilaterally overturn it. There are other cases brought by Texas and some states challenging DACA in a court that overturned DAPA.
  13. Hugo Black had been in the KKK and Earl Warren was appointed as a conservative. The earth-shaking aspect of this case is Sotomyer's concurring opinion. Controversial.
  14. It's American "soul food/southern food". You have to like turnip greens and ham hocks and cornbread. Most meals are about $10. It's hip to put down as associated with food lower classes like. I find they have the best meatloaf, biscuits and turnip greens anywhere and my Argentine and European guests always love it's food when we're on the highway. The nearest to DC is close to BWI airport and at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge past Annapolis.
  15. There's still a suit by Texas and other states to block DACA as unconstitutional in front of the same court that blocked DAPA (for parents). May not be out of the woods yet. https://www.texastribune.org/2018/05/07/texas-lawsuit-daca-dapa-ken-paxton/
  16. That ad from the Republican wing of the Democratic Party lets Trump off easy and just helps him with elderly voters who he's otherwise losing but who can relate to going down stairs or steep ramps with no handrail. But the young Clintonistas can't resist the pleasure of a knife jab as revenge for the Goddess being humiliated as infirm 4 years ago even if it costs Democrats votes with the elderly. Much more concerning is the two-hand glass of water toss. It is a sign of dementia. And the reason Trump is frail standing or moving is that he's well-known to wear heel risers in his shoes to make him look taller and more slender. That's very common and it does also work for him.....as long as he's standing still. Young people don't get it.
  17. Cracker Barrel became very pro-gay several years ago, including equal health and life insurance benefits for same-sex partners. And Chick Filet stopped donating to the anti-gay-marriage Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes last year. Personally I admire that Chick Filet loses enormous profit by closing on sundays because of their beliefs. That sunday closing is also a reason many people with families or spouses love working there. And my father made me promise to always help the Salvation Army because it was the only group to help him as a soldier plus I've seen the great work they do for people in AIDS housing in DC.
  18. Let's take a moment and thank all those looking for a cure.
  19. Yuck. Eric Flowers added a couple recent photos to his 15-year old ad so at least clients have a clue what they're really getting. I find it amusing when a guy's ad has photos cleary spread out over 10--20 years. I only look to the most recent candid ones and the one you posted above is clearly a recent candid one while the one spread out in a chair is clearly very old and irrelevant. Luke Ward is surprisingly nice and when I met him 4 years ago he looked like a strapping all-American high school football player. I never met his pal Ryan Cage but heard good things. Ray Cutler is way over-beefed up now. I have noticed that most of the better guys in Prague have started using Rentmen. There are more younger guys than ever but they've grown up with social media. Their Facebooks, Twitter and Instagrams are on Porn Base Central, etc and once you friend one the networking goes very fast. I have about 100 of these Czech guys on Facebook. A few others here have many more. Once you start networking on Twitter especially you find dozens of Czechs in the US and Czech with OnlyFans etc. (You don't have to be suckered into the OnlyFans $10/month $10/show routine- they communicate freely on Twitter.) The smart eager ones make more on OnlyFans/Twitter than working for BelAmi either filming or chat. Their 1, 2 or 3 times working for BelAmi is not much more important to them than 1, 2 or 3 other dates with clients. We identify them as BelAmi. They don't at all except as a 1 or 2 time job. The younger 20 yr old ones I know and who visit me I hear from and see every day almost on social media and meet their friends too. The older ones in their mid-30's rarely post if they even have Facebook. The exceptions are (I'm sure you remember) Velvety and Marciano. They post every day what they do traveling etc. Long posts. Because of social media I probably have 10 times more contacts than off the old Romeo listings. I also have a close circle of a half dozen Bel Ami guys who visit me and travel with me a majority of the time. It's hard to find time for so many new ones but there are many new ones. And their best friends, brothers and cousins.
  20. No, but pure capitalism assumes race in how much a person is worth in the market. (Spoiler: women, blacks and Latinx aren't worth as much unless you need a token).
  21. Yes, reddit's learning curve is very steep. It's a seeming jungle of millions of reddits and sub-reddits but once you find a niche it excels. The posters can be tedious and even arrogant but the best intellects are there in most fields. Art and literature is especially good.
  22. Cracker Barrel is the only chain that doesn't consider turnip greens and ham hocks to be "just ni##er food". They got my business. You cannot have pure capitalism without racism. People and their labor are commodities with different values and race is a huge factor in how much that human animal is worth. The end of slavery just meant that you could no longer own or kill people like other living stock. All the meaningless platitudes in the world don't change pure capitalism as a dog-eat-dog, kill-or-be-killed system. The "safety net" is kept at the minimum to keep peasant society from collapse and a pitiful charade of democracy keeps them entertained. ( As Peter Thiel says, if democracy gets too democratic, we may have to dump it.) Most of the biggest public complaints...racism, healthcare, wages, education, housing, sexism, (including even lack of competition and free market) relate back to pure capitalism but people are under an illusion they are all separate problems that randomly occur at the same time. Why are all these problems handled so much better in European social democracies? I'll support democracy even when the masses are stupid and make bad decisions. But don't ask me to choose the lesser evil among our present master class.
  23. But the turnip greens and ham hocks is so complex and tantalizing to the palate.
  24. Next week they are going to rule that religious belief overrides this though. So not really such a big fucking deal. We've been around this wedding cake before.
