Todays sun is pretty unbearable. Only got better after 4 pm.

Seems like the scene in smaller cities are changing. Olimpo in BH no longer has GPs. The sauna in Curitiba that housed many really good looking GPs now changed owner and no longer has GPs. And now Porto Alegre seems like a hit and miss. Haven’t been back to Fortaleza, I wonder if California is still good.

I think Porto Alegre scene is only happening during the weekends.

There is another footage of the same incident. Looks like the boys were trying to rob a woman, then a few bystanders intervened and one of them is the victim. Still bad but it is not like the boys seek out to assault the guy and rob him.

Talked to one of my regulars at 117. He said in Dec, most days are rather busy. So even Wed is good at 117.

The victim looks like a local and doesn’t dressed flashy. Guessed it could happen to anyone; wrong place wrong time. Hoping tourists (not clueless) do not get targeted as much due to hitting international news thus making the police working harder to catch the perps. Then again this is Brazil, maybe not.

Sure, most of them are. However, there are some good looking GPs in Lagoa that only hang out with other GPs and maybe talk to the staffs. Never looked at the clients. I have seen several clients constantly trying to get their attention but never got acknowledged. Lagoa or rather SP has less GPs, so they don’t have to work as hard as the ones in Rio.

Tonight’s free suites night at 117 is rather busy. Saw lots of familiar faces. I prefer the garotos in Rio. So much warmer and friendlier - day and night compare to guys at Lagoa.

Went to 555 tonight (Sunday). It was supposed to be their busier night but seems yesterday was actually busier. Lots of bingo and a go go show thrown in. Saw some familiar faces from Rio. Similar garoto types as the old place but on a smaller scale. Too bad I really like the building and facilities. Might be a dud night but who knows. Will probably sticks to lagoa for my last night in Sampa.

I have been using the same vivo prepaid sim for years. Top up when it was about to expiry - usually every 3 to 4 months. And yes I have a CPF. Checkout an app called RecargaPay. There are a few ways to top up; ask a Brazilian friend (pay him cash and he pix you), use boleta or use Remitly (this app can transfer to any pix account; including your pix keys that you can create in recargapay). I use Remitly, the transfer rate is quite good. You can also add credit card to recargapay but charges a fee however I couldn’t add my foreign credit card.

And Top Man Club have a few masseurs. I didn’t go for it but heard they do extras. The clubs demographic is on the younger side (same as Chili Peppers). Good looking bunch too. It was reasonably busy when I was there from 4 to 5 ish (Saturday)

I talked to an ex-Olimpo GP at Lagoa tonight and he said there is no GP now. Anyways I already booked my flights and accommodation so I will still go. Will probably go to the other GP sauna. It was OKish when I was there last time. There are a few other non GP saunas/clubs; should keep me busy for a few days. Anyways, it seems like the better looking GPs go to Lagoa late. It was bad until around 7 ish and it was a Saturday. I might go to 555 tomorrow and if it turned out bad I can always go to Lagoa later. Oh and I now pay GPs via PIX. So convenient and don’t have to worry about low on cash. Less need to withdraw from atm also.

I am in SP and I just saw this. Was debating whether to go out but kinda beat after Top Man, Lagoa and Inhouse Agência today.

Will leave for SP tomorrow. Is anyone in SP at the moment? I'll be there for a few days then heading to RJ.

I am going back to Brazil this Dec until early Jan. Will spend most of my time in Rio with a few days in SP and BH. Has anyone been to Olimpo BH since the re-opening in Oct? It looks like it might be sem garotos now and 24 hours on the weekend. There is also a new Dedalos BH. Strange that there are many 24-hour sex venus in BH but none in Rio.

I have only been to a Homo Sapiens in BA pre-pandemic. Didn't know there is one in SP.

Republica at night is not for the faint heart. Maybe try Dedalos or Chilli Pepper. The former is a cruise club and the latter is a hotel/gay sauna. Both are 24-hour sex venues. A photo ID is needed for Dedalos and a passport for Chilli Pepper. Use Uber. There are many more in the area; sex clubs, bars, and dance clubs. Search the forum. Almost all of them are not escort venues so how much of a good time you will have is tied to how attractive you are. I think Bar Queen's go-go boys are also GP.

I have had CPF for years now. Some shops (eg pharmacy) ask for it but is it cheaper? The only real advantage for me is able to get the Bilhete Unico metro card in SP rather than queuing and having small changes to purchase the qrcode ticket. Oh and maybe easier to get a sim card but some bigger branches allow you to get one with just your non-Brazilian passport. What other uses are there? I might have missed out. I know previously (still?) purchasing inter-city bus ticket needs one.

I'll probably keep my backup hotel and decide which one to keep before the refundable date.

Resurrecting this thread. I am thinking of trying Airbnb for my next trip. I found that most places that are managed by a company usually have strict rules regarding visitors. So I'll probably be looking at more private listings. One of my worries is the host cancels my booking days before the arrival date and it'll be an expensive inconvenience to re-book another place. I'll probably have a backup refundable hotel booking just in case. Any other gotchas or things to look for when renting an Airbnb?
