Republica at night is not for the faint heart. Maybe try Dedalos or Chilli Pepper. The former is a cruise club and the latter is a hotel/gay sauna. Both are 24-hour sex venues. A photo ID is needed for Dedalos and a passport for Chilli Pepper. Use Uber. There are many more in the area; sex clubs, bars, and dance clubs. Search the forum. Almost all of them are not escort venues so how much of a good time you will have is tied to how attractive you are. I think Bar Queen's go-go boys are also GP.

I have had CPF for years now. Some shops (eg pharmacy) ask for it but is it cheaper? The only real advantage for me is able to get the Bilhete Unico metro card in SP rather than queuing and having small changes to purchase the qrcode ticket. Oh and maybe easier to get a sim card but some bigger branches allow you to get one with just your non-Brazilian passport. What other uses are there? I might have missed out. I know previously (still?) purchasing inter-city bus ticket needs one.

Resurrecting this thread. I am thinking of trying Airbnb for my next trip. I found that most places that are managed by a company usually have strict rules regarding visitors. So I'll probably be looking at more private listings. One of my worries is the host cancels my booking days before the arrival date and it'll be an expensive inconvenience to re-book another place. I'll probably have a backup refundable hotel booking just in case. Any other gotchas or things to look for when renting an Airbnb?

It's a 24-hour cruise club with a small bar. Before you go in, the bouncer will check if you have a photo ID and scan you with a security wand metal detector. You pay for the entrance and drinks at the counter and will be given a wristband with a locker code (also for drinks) before you can enter the 2 levels club. The ground floor is a small bar with lockers. Upstairs has cubicles, glory holes, dark rooms etc - the cruise club essentials. Check out their insta for events. I am not sure when is their busy time; reckoned after work, weekends or when they have events. One time, I went around 2 am on a weekday and it was still quite busy. The crowd tends to be similar to Chili Pepper.

A few years ago in 202, I was in the locker area and overheard 2 guys talking and they sounded like Americans. It was nice to hear a familiar language after being in Brazil for a few weeks. So I asked them if they are from the States. "We are from NYC and this place sucks. There are no boys, only men here". A few minutes later, I saw them talking to the youngest-looking GP in the house. Flights are still very expensive from where I am. Just checked that it'll cost me around 3K USD for Dec/Jan and it's on cattle class. The last time I was in Rio for Revellion was in 2018. Maybe I'll be there again this 2024. Does anyone know if SP's NYE is good? I assumed there will be mainly parties in the clubs.

There is this guy at Lagoa for the past few days. Long pants, tshirt with sweater around his neck, going around chatting up with the boys promising marriage and taking them home but does nothing. If that is you, for god sake tip the poor boys. I heard from boys venting to other boys and to me that it’s a waste of time spending time with him. I guessed there are people that goes to sauna just to chat and feel ‘wanted’. It’s all good but please do tip them for their time spent on you.

There is also a Uber-GP in 117. Pretty sure he can drive there and back and throw in a romp in the bushes for a fee.

You need to show your ID to enter Chilli Pepper. Not sure they accept other type of IDs other than your passport (not printout) since you are a gringo. As for Uber, I never had any issues hailing one in front of Lagoa (2 weeks in SP). So I find it strange that more than 1 person from this forum said it’s problematic. Maybe it’s the time? I usually leaves around 9 or 10 something.

Top man and Chilli Pepper are non GP sauna. Never been to Top man but reviews say that it’s usually empty. Chilli Pepper is quite popular and usually has a lot of hot guys. I think most of us only carry some cash (USD, EUR or GBP) for emergencies use so hardly uses câmbio for exchange. But it’s good to know. Withdraw from ATM is easy and the rate and fee is acceptable. Just use your bank card that doesn’t charge extra for overseas withdrawal. I also use travel credit card (eg Wise) for everything else (non GP payment). I am getting excellent rate (near mid market) with Wise. And my main credit card for backup.

Last night (Sunday) was slightly better. I was there as well. Wow 300 and 500 for gozar, even those perfect adonis model types from old Lagoa didn’t ask that much. And I didn’t see anyone there that even looks half as good yesterday. I usually do not negotiate, if he is asking too much then it’ll be a definite no and still no if he decrease the price. It happens all the time. I have seen it often but they usually happens in the steam room, sauna or porn room. So not that public but still with other people around. Pointe 202 sauna/steam room is famous for some GPs to do more (sometime complete session) with clients. Some sauna that has free rooms (Sauna 1097 in BH), I seen a GP full on fucking a client bareback by the door in the smoking area.

Most clients tip them after. I usually hangout in the smoking area and heard the boys venting about which clients are not worth spending times investing. Obviously some do sits and talk for a long time because they are regulars (or big spender)

I never been to Salvador. The city gives me the impression that it is predominantly black. I like lots of variety in one place. Sometime I like dark chocolate, other times white chocolate and often also likes to indulge in salted caramel chocolate. Obviously GPs moves around … maybe I’ll visit there in my next trip.

I also saw him at 117 around the same time. We might have been in 117 on the same night! Didn’t do a programa with him as 117 has so many to choose from. Anyways, I hope he goes to Lagoa when he comes to São Paulo. That place is in need of a better talent.
