I always carry a black and white copy of my passport photo page with me in Brazil. I can just show this copy to enter any clubs or saunas. I am not qualified for senior discount at metros. I have never had encounter with police. The only time I need a real physical passport in Brazil is at airport and at hotel check-in.

Yes there are white people in Mexico. But I was making a comparison between Mexico and Brazil. I still think Brazil has more muscular white (not brown) guys than Mexico. I know I am stubborn.

Having visited both Mexico and Brazil, I would say there are far more muscular guys in Brazil, and far more white(European descents, not brown) guys in Brazil than in Mexico. A muscular white guy can be very popular (desirable) in Mexico

Many shopping malls have cambio booths. There are also a few cambios booths/offices in Copacabana where tourists gather. Any of these cambio booths gives better rate than airport or hotel currency exchange. This has been my experience, not only in Brazil, but also almost all other countries. Most savvy travelers don't exchange currency at airports.
