I may be adding more. In the meantime, please take liberties PM/DM. Hugs.

I have found the likelihood of program candidates matching my preferences is greater on Friday and Saturday. I think it is a combination of overall volume and the type of provider taking part on weekends. Again, nothing etched in stone, as my ‘research’ sampling to date is limited.

I only wished to get the financial part out of the way because the private room rent system is different from other venues to which I am accustomed. My intention is more to inform, as some readers prefer clarity over ambiguity, than to generate a huge volume of discussion about money in the oft ad nauseam fashion that occurs.

A few accommodating English-speaking providers were willing to briefly discuss that there was no hard and fast compensation guideline about the differential between 30 minute cabins and 55 minute suites. It goes without saying that various factors, too many to name here, come into play.
-
You may observe the slightly more comparative imperative of sorting out your trick’s paycheque based on the arbitrary room rent durations. So far, the expectations are variable and have ranged from guys content with ‘typical’ half-hour compensation for 50-55 minutes (sizeable proportion of the room inventory) to at least one provider requesting [counterintuitively and time clock count-deficient] 100% more (ie, double) compensation for tacking on 20 minutes to 30 minutes. The latter example being a guy without any apparent business yet prepared to leave cash on the table. More amusing that frustrating.

Private room price list Mon-Thurs (small blue print at the bottom of sign). As far as I know they do not switch this sign for Fri, Sat, Sun, holidays, BUT the cabin inflates by 10 to 35, and the first price tier of bathroom-inclusive quarters goes up by 5 to 55, while the second and top suite tiers remain the same.

The pathways are very straightforward and all at the front of the building structure. The sole exception is a short stairway, as delineated by the red asterisk, at the very back of the building from subterra reception level to the back of streetlevel Social. Just imagine the new opaque façade superimposed on the photo of the previous appearance. At street side at the juncture of each of 4 levels is placed signage indicating where you are. Example provided. (Parenthetically, I find the transitways simpler than Thermas in Barcelona).

Greetings, fellows. I am not sifting through previous reports, so some of this info may be redundant. I have been to Lagoa a few times this winter.

Nicely done; well organized, informative, and interesting. I am impressed how much you packed into such a short time, 12is12. -
Much will depend on the ‘severity pyramid’. The mortality rate is more influenced by intensive care sustainability than baseline vulnerability to acuteness, eg, age, co-morbidity. In other words, the current mortality rate is attenuated by complex ICU care for a much higher percentage of infected persons than the mortality rate is inflated by vulnerability factors for the percentage that ultimately succumbs. This is not just 2-3% of those infected dropping dead on the street outside the context of complex care. I believe the hospital admission rate is about 20%, way way higher than typical non-pandemic flu seasons. Pre Covid-19 ICU/ventilator expenditures already account for greater than 10% of total health care costs. If the level of virulence persists and prevalence escalates, one may not be overestimating worry about capacity in terms of high quality pull-out-the-stops intervention. The figures are still too early for predicting risk factors for death and even earlier for predicting patient variables related to ICU requirements. It is simplistic to think in age terms in relation to care needs. In seasonal flu research, the probability of ICU admission and mechanical ventilation necessity is not very different comparing children, elderly, and adults as a whole.

First (flagged) case, São Paulo, a man in early 60’s who had travelled in Italy. Inevitable, I suppose.

I discovered it a year or so ago and also particularly like him singing Miserere Mei, Deus with an ensemble of adults (YouTube). Age 17 in 2 months, now baritone.

Arrangements are now being made to evacuate and quarantine at least some of the requesters. -

Today it is reported that Bolsonaro will not commit to evacuating about 40 nationals from China, citing undeveloped/unclear quarantine legislation in Brazil. -

Leave it to a Brazilian stripper expat in China to ‘micro-influence’ designer face mask uptake, but someone should alert him about spreading trace elements of fecal matter on its surface ... -
Remember that progression globally went from 45 to over 10,000 reported cases in the past two weeks even with emerging vector control measures. Thailand’s current baseline is almost half the baseline n=45. Watch it closely over the next two weeks prior to departure, and gauge projected progression over your duration of time there. The exponential factor increases with time. For me, apart from the health risk would be the complexities of travel medical insurance and health care costs. I would certainly want to know my insurer’s position ... it may not be Valentine-grade.

Here is an example of predicted model progression that emerges from epidemiology. If the model reasonably approximates exponential progression based on recent tallies, the forecast is certainly startling, particularly since there are concerns about underreporting. Today’s tally (12,000) falls short of the assumption, but is still worrisome. Sorry the image is not crisper ... you can always search the domain.

A minority of Brazil’s Supreme Court justices support the decriminalization of possession of small amounts of cannabis by adults for personal consumption, ie up to 25 grams. The case, considered to be landmark, had been postponed for years, and again in November was removed from the docket due to pressure from the conservative right ... more analysis required. Not surprisingly, one argument against legalization is that trafficking stakeholders would adapt by creating ‘ant armies’ of distributors that can avoid prosecution by adhering to the maximum possession allowed. Of course, this is but one of several points made against relaxing the law. In contrast, the legalization of cannabis products for medical use appears to be gaining a little bit of traction. I can possess in my province but I wouldn’t be caught dead attempting to bring even one small joint into Brazil.
