In fact, the department in which Medellin resides (Antioquia) has slightly more Afro representation likely owing to higher Afro density on the Pacific coast. The patterns of considerably higher Indigenous representation appear to fairly beyond Bogota. In sum, even if race were a factor in terms of city choice I think I would be inclined to go with the reliability of demographic research.
