  1. [had an interruption and missed the edit /add deadline] This theme was akin to a game hybrid: Russian Rock-Paper-Scissors Roulette. You want to all be on the same page thrusting out paper, no rock-slinging, no scissor-kick sprint. Calls for dress rehearsal. Well, OK, pull a Little Britain's Matt Lucas exclamation, if you must, over the policia lineup later: "Não, não ele, mas ele ė absolutamente LINDO!"
  2. I heard that if you accidentally swallow the tequila worm it viloently hatches out of your belly button and relentlessly wreaks havoc everywhere. (Sorry ... couldn't resist). Exhausted and hungry diaspora is not likely going to zombify you. Maybe try to volunteer at an emergency Red Cross hydration station.
  3. Disagree, at least indirectly. Opportunistic felons with honey badger DNA put them in danger. Being an innocent mark put them in jeopardy. Understandably buying into the illusion of inviolability and not taking coordinated group precautions opened the vulnerability. Our lizard brain makes a snap decision. The split-second in-a-blink-think usually serves us well in most circumstances. Freeze, fight, flight ... all viable self-preservational impromptu responses. We have now had an inservice training, fortunately without casualities, on how to better engage our more complex reaction sets. I usually practise being the guy in my North American city that the retail security guard tracks with his eyes and flight path. And lock down valuables up against my sweaty mischief zones when out and about in crime-endemic environments. I will now add to my playbook a mock-up prep drill with any new fellow visitor joining me out in public. They balk? Bounce alone, bitch.
  4. A corollary question: is Doug Stamper up to the required janitorial tasks?
  5. True 'nuf, but johns also bone a part of them typically linked to ignominy.
  6. Who wouldn't happily get poked with YF vaccine for this FG fellow?
  7. Swipe left to right for increasing freedom and safety ... Guyana is more Caribbean in values. Sodomy law technically remains on the books. Suriname more relaxed but do not expect Netherlands-level openness. No mixing of same-sex surnames. French Guiana law follows that of France. Gay marriage is legal. And imported champagne likely cheaper.
  8. It took me a whole week to get bounced there a while ago ... boomeranged back under a different address with my trenchcoat more buttoned up.
  9. Maybe was a recently turned white suburban female who had been catfishing here?
  10. Assuming the event is true, the relevant club's press secretary would likely be lodged between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand, a harsh lesson in the pros of keeping your play on the premises, thereby maintaining safety profit one side and profit margin other side. On the other hand, expanding the penumbra around the club-based sex trade enterprise and rousing far from dormant zombie-grade homonegativity among the fundamentalist rabble.
  11. The D-K effect has been applicable to AIDS denialism and Vaccine conspiracy theory. A number of additional human tendencies help explain these illusions of confidence in knowledge and beliefs. For example, the WYSIATI rule: what you see is all there is. The human mind does not easily integrate new information when the previous story made the bare minimum of sense and was just comfortable enough. It has been adaptive and essential to human survival to rapidly and rigidly lock together a relatively small number of puzzle pieces. And Trump is relatable to so many supporters because he masterfully yet unwittingly mirrors the virtually limitless capacity to ignore one's own ignorance. His simplemindedness is, paradoxically, his greatest strength with many constituents. His developmental evolving to grasp what he does not know would be his unmaking ... he would not be able to drag his base along that learning curve and it would fragment the connective identification. What is a central catch phrase these days? ... It [he] is what it is ... Elegantly simplistic. Covers information and nonevents alike. There is little more to know about Trump. Everyone believes his/her own version. Nothing really much new, whereas, in contrast, people might be thrown off by information supporting that Hitler loved puppies and infants in swaddling clothes. Sadly, that is a more credible narrative. My personal narrative of Trump is that any apparent fondness for pooches and babies is self-serving.
  12. This love motel offers a portable prie-dieu, as needed. 30 minutes? Fuck that.
  13. "So fuckin' stinkin' hot in my teddy-bear ballerina jacket, Maya! ... Yas, gurrl. Damn, Pepita, I'd kill for a full body wax! Maybe this gringo stooge snapchattin' us will offer us an ice-bucket challenge."
  14. "Fine, slip my hand in, then, but just for a second ... I do you, you do me, after duchas."
  15. That story would not be stretched as wide horizontally as the mile-high club is vertically.
  16. "Stop pouting ... this is not the place!"
  17. "You don't want me no mo'?"
  18. "Not here ... later."
  19. My candid camera catching joggers militar.
  20. The current projected lifetime risk for Brasilians' homicide victim status is 1 in 50, if the tide does not turn. And that figure omits cases of upping the ante in cruising for a flatline. At a rate of 80 murders in Rio since the reported recent incident, chances are it won't be overtly news-worthy. The risk ratio of a hideous client expecting Powerball-win elation equivalency among club escorts bending over while being spared hawking, in congested traffic, crisps; frayed bleached tea towels; and cough drops, on any given day, is considerably worse.
  21. The place is Massage at Sapphire, though I no longer have his direct contact info. Was 14 months ago. Enjoy Guadalajara. Unlike PV last Fall, it does not require knee-high wading boots every late afternoon. I was staying directly where the altitude begins to level out at bottom of hills near the local market.
  22. Two sides to the equation. I have witnessed obnoxiously entitled clients drastically lowball more average or below-average looking garotos. One recent foreign tourist disdainfully and within clear earshot offering 50 reais to a shy somewhat older working guy who had not even been hustling the customer for a programa. Some others go off site to their already paid lodgings to avoid the cabin fee and yet want to pay a similar sex trade rate range. Burns my avocado toast. This is not a unilateral offense-defense zero-sum game. It is more a reciprocal offense scenario based on mutual stereotyping. Perhaps it can be said it is a version of 'cold war'. Wringing and withholding are both money-grabs. Expect casualities. DISCLAIMER: I don't know the current relevant details, just encourage a balanced view.
  23. Likely most public health clinics "posto de saúde" for a fractionated (eg, 1/5) dose, good for 12 months ... supply limitations account for lack of full lifetime doses. Bring your translate app. For bigger guns: Albert Einstein Hospital or private clinics, cost more. You can contact your consulate (USA?) there for recommendations. If new travel requirements are driving your interest, note that you may need to be 7-10 days post-vaccination in order to enter, for example Panama, for a period of time exceeding the airport connection threshold (6 hours, I believe).
  24. Was the pro massage guy Carlos, aka 'Charlie', possibly? What a doll. Straight, married with a kid. Drums up biz at the Blue Chairs beach section and uses a table at a resort adjacent. Also does housecalls. I ask because I was also soaked with endorphins.
  25. The Yellow-Fever-specific inoculation requirement is a more recent one, having shifted from the lower 'recommended' tier in Feb 2017, for arrivals from Brasil to Panama (even just flight transit at Tocumen!), so I will be bringing my certificate with me because I have returned to using Copa Airlines from South America to the north. I have no need to currently investigate malaria or Cuba aspects. I do not think that malaria is an issue landing in Panama as it is likely the Yellow Fever spike in Brasil that precipitated the change. The traveller mentioned above may be unique in landing in two countries following departure from Brasil. More complicated to tease out. The rules for Panama are variable, depending on length of time at Tocumen and final destination. Best to call the airline. My previous connections in Panama past 21 months were (and always are) extremely short and involved jogging, so perhaps I was lucky to board in Brasil.
