  1. Yes, from the article referenced above: "But María Antonia Martínez, of the National Toxicology Institute’s Drugs Service, says that scopolamine intoxication through the skin is “practically in the realm of science fiction.”" Getting drugged during a rub down or stretching with a trainer in a public space is highly unlikely. Maybe oral ingestation but even then the outcome is unpredictable based on what I found online.
  2. Snopes did the homework on this for you. This is an urban legend - the drug causes mild disorientation. At higher doses it will make you physically sick. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/burundangascopolamine-warning/
  3. Same is happening elsewhere - South Africa is another example: https://www.downtoearth.org.in/blog/africa/covid-19-in-africa-real-toll-may-be-thrice-the-official-figure-77825
  4. I agree there is little joy to be found in banking service - but (to me at least) it is a necessary service. What you are really saying is that you want the bank to 1. safeguard your money, 2. make it available to you on demand at ATMs 24/7, 3. provide internet banking so you can pay bills, 4. provide an app on your phone so you can shuffle funds around on the go or deposit a check in your jammies, 5. give you state of the art cyber security to protect your personal account and transactions details. And you don't want to pay a dime in fees. Interesting point of view!!
  5. Your expectations are too high, sir. But I suspect you know that already given your experience. Banking is a service - you need to pay for a service for it to be worthwhile. My 2c.
  6. Come On! Somebody has to have something nice to say about Wells Fargo! So here goes: Nice stagecoach dude! It also explains why their service is so slow - they are still delivering via coach! They have been a disaster for me too - I was a Wachovia customer until Wells purchased them in 2009.
  7. I totally gdt that... Ask them to send someone over to take your statement at home - blame Covid and your injuries. Maybe they will send over a cute young officer - eye candy may be just what you need to help break out of the post mugging funk!
  8. I am sorry to hear you had this experience on your first trip to the bars. Do report it to the police - they can step up patrols etc. If you dont see more visible policing within a week, call thr mayor's office. Be the squeaky wheel. Goes without saying that you should cancel your cards today. Hope you feel better soon.
  9. Well that is rather alarming! Glad I got the vaccine!!
  10. I could not find whole wheat flour at the store today so have to make do with regular bread flour this week. Buns will be kinda pale this week! Definitely not Thai Buns!
  11. Do you have a link? When I Google it I get a large list, starting with "Resident Evil Village"...
  12. I have been getting a lot of use and value out of my bread maker too. The smell of freshly baked bread and fresh coffee takes me right back to my grandmother's kitchen at age 7! So many people started baking their own bread during Covid that the machines sold out and yeast/flour got very hard to find. I was glad I had stocked up on a good supply. Yesterday I used the machine to knead the dough for today's picnic. Made New England style hot dog buns. Bring on the extra relish!!
  13. Something very similar is happening in other countries. For example I have friends in South Africa and they have an extensive private hospital, private doctor and private medical insurance network. They have not been able to secure the vaccine - the government has done everything in their power to make it impossible. It's very sad, really.
  14. That is an interesting point of view. I didn't know "Daddy" so don't know what his wishes were. But given his support for the LGBTQ community I doubt he would be pleased if the site disappeared. He certainly recognized the value of the virtual community since he took on ownership responsibilities for it for so long.
  15. To be clear, this appears to relate solely to stopping prosecution of the sex workers. Does not extend to clients of sex workers - their clients may still be prosecuted.
  16. You may enjoy Fran Lenowitz's discussion of the topic in the Netflix special "Pretend it's a city" Being a practical kind of guy, for outdoor use I recommend porcelain tiles with a matt or textured finish!
  17. Could make for an interesting hobby...by in litigious NYC I doubt I am willing to take on the liability!
  18. As today is National Tax day here in the USA, I would be remiss not to remind you that you should keep in mind the taxes you will pay on all those crypto gains!
  19. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. In my opinion it is necessary and I encourage everyone to stick to the CDC guidelines when it comes to getting the 2nd shot.
  20. I got the Pfizer. I pfeel pfantastic! No pfucking side effects! Consider it a gift from Pfauchi! So ready to pface the summer now!! (Just trying to make you smile! You did make some good points!)
  21. I only use the app sporadically. Have never had the urge to pay for the Xtra or premium versions.
  22. It is important to note that neither the FDA nor the CDC recommended revoking its use authorization. Social media will have a field day with this- will add to the hesitancy and likely have an impact far beyond that which is warranted.
  23. An abundance of caution indeed. This is a very small number and specific to a sex and age group. I am sure there will be more to come...
  24. Indeed - they seem to have hit a few snags in meeting delivery targets. They did under promise so that will help them with managing expectations. Their Baltimore plant issues continue to make headlines - it's been in the news for 2 weeks now.
