I did Airbnb in Pattaya in 2016, Dubai 2020 and 2 in Colombia recently. I have been looking at them as a home base for a longer trip to Thailand (a place to leave most of my stuff if I do shorter trips to other locations over my 2 month stay). If you want cleaning, laundry, ask the host. most have a cleaner who will (for a fee) come in. In Pattaya (Talay 2A), I had them in once a week for 200b (that was 2016). the cleaner swapped sheets and towel and did dishes, mopped etc, about 1 hr in the apartment. Also, there was an inexpensive laundry service in the building (but I had my long-term take it where he knew for cheap). The Condo 24 hr "guard" would do the ID thing if you brought your guest over to his desk. For longer stays, I have seen the airbnb listing to say fee plus water and electric and mention unit cost. In Dubai they had full hotel like service every other day (it seemed to me more like a hotel or serviced apart). In Colombia, one did it for a small fee, the other wanted too much, so I paid a money boy extra to clean. Regards legality... my next door neighbor is doing it illegally. If no one complains to the local authorities, the owners have no problem. Don't know about guarded condos but it would seem to me if the people cause no problem it is not in the best interest to make problems for their owner/members.

I was in Medellin in march, I got a airbnb hostel like place up the street level train line (Cra 41 near train) for 7 days. The whole area around there is pretty rough at night, I did not feel safe at night even with the heavy police presence. I accidently discovered Plaza Botero area during the day, I was amazed. I never did see any males I could determine were hustlers, but I did see literally a hundred + female workers. I spent a couple afternoons exploring the area, but never talked to any locals. I explored wide during the day, maybe never realizing my danger. Later when I had moved la pueblo (holiday inn) I ran into a straight retired marine who winters in Medellin and is part of a group of men who meet everyday in the area. their goal is to sleep with as many street whores as possible. he had a by the week love hotel room he took them to (not where he slept). he said he did two to three a day at 10$ a fuck. He knew nothing about prep..... my local guide did not know the plaza area, and he was afraid of the area at night.

I like smaller men. Must start using saunas....

I was thinking the security aspect. I had not read about gay torture/murders before I went. All the men I had were obviously over 18. The hotels/airbnbs did not check, and I did not ask them to.

A little off topic. I was in Colombia Medellin and Bogota. Most rentmen did not seem to know about prep; and the few that did said it was too expensive to get it. No one I chatted with had ever said they were tested. All seemed to think they would not get it. Only 2 or 3 out of 15 said anything about a condom when we had sex. The bottoms were comfortable with me breeding them. The real professionals just ask for more money for Bareback. No free man hookup wanted a condom, top or bottom. I went tested clean to Colombia on prep and antibiotic prophylactic. I will get tested Thursday for my post visit.

I spent 35 days in Medellin and Bogota March and April. I mostly had a longterm companion. I was never asked for ID. some hotels/airbnbs I registered him. some I did not. I also had about 15 other men. no problems anywhere I was, but I did not ask them to check their id. in retrospect maybe not so safe. But most of my guests were during the day.....

When I explored, I did state I was not in Medellin yet but would be coming in early march. I wanted people interested to contact me. not me randomly hit up hundreds of people looking for one that might want to do what I was asking. (there were still many that did not read it before hitting me up. so I had a more detailed Spanish ad as stored text for immediate use when someone hit me up.) I am not a Grindr paid user, and maybe it behaves differently if you pay. But there are quite a few differences when you spoof, rather than visit or explore. I wanted to have arranged guide when I arrived. not start looking when I got there. They needed to see my ad. To each his own methods.

I'm an android user, and there are multiple android apps to spoof the GPS (although Grindr actvely tries to defeat them). I spoofed GPS on grindr before I went to Medellin /Bogota, changed my profile to Spanish and indicated I was looking a paid companion who would be my 24 hr guide; hopefully someone who spoke some English. I received multiple offers for "longtime" companions. I settled on a beautiful 24 yro man who said he was trying to learn English (not really ). I met him the morning after I arrived in Medellin (no problems anywhere bringing back a companion as long as they are over 18 (with ID if they look young)), He was a pretty good companion (although we both got frustrated with google translate) and had fun touring and in bed. I was with him for ~30 days (although I had plenty of other hookups as well). I was his first foreigner and he wants me to come back and is happy if I share his info for other (nice) foreigners. He would love to find a sugar daddy, and treats you pretty damn good, being honest and loving. We are friends now and I will hook up with him again when I go again.
