Great hotel. No hassles with visitors. Great lap pool. I stayed at Sukhothai Hotel past week - double the price. Voco is almost comparable in terms of comfort. i found it more fun to meet boys on grindr. Just made it clear that id pay 200 for taxi if not what I was looking for. The bars are dire. I also got scammed in one bar where they claimed I'd given a 100 instead of 1000. Just not worth the hassle.

I'm in BKK now. Staying at Voco on Suriwong - excellent value btw and a good base. Flew in in Air India £2400 business return bought at the ticket desk at LHR. I was waiting for a flight to BCN to get fucked raw in Thermas for a few days and somehow thought Bangkok might be fun after a 12 year absence. i've visited BKK over 100 times since the mid 80s. I'd consider myself comfortably well off - i sold my business years ago and live well of property and other investments. The bars used to be teeming and relatively good value. But 400b for drinks is absurd imo. Sut with three or four boys, buy a couple of rounds, choose one or two to take off (expectations of 3k ea) and tip the others 200/300 ea and you've spaffed £300 to £350 by the time you've showered the spunk off your face It may be cheap by UK standards but It's put me right off when there's plenty of boys on grindr for 1500-2500 i've had a fun time, but raiding the atm for 20k at a time almost daily is absurd. I have much more fun in PP or KL (just host a party) and for far less. It's a shame as Ive fond memories of BKK way back to Garden Bar and Harry's days in soi 2.

I stayed past week. It's excellent. 5 star guesthouse and with the spa and massage boys there's plenty of fun to be had.

Soma is a regular masssage shop with above average prices just off Riverside i won't say too much, other than the masseur was very skilled, knew some very deep massage techniques and gave me a very full filling experience I tipped 30 us, such was my satisfaction

I was en toute to Phnom Penh and stopped in KL to break the journey. All major 5 star hotels were fully booled with the ASEAN conference. I traveled here via Athens, Abu Dhabi then a few dsys near KL. in PP Im staying at Artgur and Paul (excellent choice, btw) and a guy at pool recommended a bar "Asia Cam Bar" about a mile away. The crowd was youngish, mixture of a few foreigners and a few 20 ish muscle types and some very, very 'me' twinks. I suspect some of the locals were looking for money, but it seemed non commercial.
