I frequent the massage shops in Sapan Kwai that focus (mostly) on massage.
I have several regular guys that I would like to take out to a nearby short-time hotel room for a lot more fun than can be had in their massage shop (no private rooms).

Yes @NoNameFanBoy, you certainly can skip the massage if you want to.  That's what I do.
I have offed massage boys a number of times using a massage shop's outcall service.  Look for the massage shops that offer outcalls in their fee menus.  It easy to communicate with the shop using the Line app on your phone.  Add the shops you are interested in as Line friends, and they will send you daily posts, showing photos of the boys available for that day.  
You select the boy you want from the Line photos of the boys available.  In addition to the Line photos, some shops will send a Google Drive link or a website address with the photos of the boys.  Many of the boys appear in the photos of several different massage shops, as many are freelancers, not working exclusively for one shop.  
The shop will tell you how much the shop fee is, and the amount for the boy's tip when you make the booking.  I think the last time I booked an outcall, it was 700 baht for the shop (massage fee), and 2,500 baht for the boy's tip.  
Often the shop will send the boy to your hotel using a Grab bike.  When the boy arrives, I let him know I don't want a massage.  I've never had any massage boy act surprised when I told them I wanted to skip the massage.  They will generally stay in your room for a couple hours.
I prefer the comfort and privacy of my room, rather than a massage shop room.  In the massage shop ads on Line, you can see a menu of fees.  For an outcall, the fee is generally about 1,000 baht more than an in shop massage.  Well worth the price to me, as I don't have to visit the shop.  Some shops will allow you to pay the fees to the boy, and some will want a bank transfer in order to make a booking.  Just ask on Line, and they'll tell you how you can pay.  
Look for the shops that show the massage boy body stats.  Those shops usually offer full service (sex), and often they state if the boy is gay or straight in their photos.
I suspect the shop managers know a customer booking an outcall will often skip the massage, as I've never been asked when making a booking what type of massage I want, the type of massage oil, or how long for the massage to last, ie 1 hour, 1.5 hour, etc.  
The cost quoted for a hotel outcall will include round trip transportation for the boy.   It is actually no more expensive for a massage shop outcall than offing a boy from a Patpong bar for short time, and sometimes less expensive.  No drinks, no off fee, and no mamasans.

To be fair to Mike’s taxi, unsafe drivers are everywhere. Thais have their own ways of calculating and managing risk and safety.
That was my one and only bad experience with Mike’s taxi. What put me off them was no response to the feedback I sent. That motivated me to look elsewhere….

Because we all have our own priorities I do not think we have a right to criticise others for their choices. I have certainly enjoyed far more amazing life experiences than I ever dreamed of when I started my career and I put that down initially as much to stubbornness and serendipity as to making a specific choice. Still in my 20s I just decided that if I were to get further up the ladder in the type of job I was doing and enjoying, there were so few available in the UK I had first to move abroad for a few years. It was always said that experience overseas would be an advantage when I returned to work again in the UK. I assumed that would mean the USA and I did make a couple of trips to see what jobs might be available. Then totally out of the blue i was asked if I'd like to be considered for a job in Hong Kong. 
I knew absolutely nothing about Asia and all its different countries. The furthest east I had been was for holidays in Crete and Rhodes. Had I not agreed to go and be interviewed, I have no idea if I would ever have considered visiting Thailand. Certainly in those far off days it was much too far away and flights far too expensive. But I did go to that interview, got the job and within a month found myself in Hong Kong for what I assumed would be no more than three years. Staggered by the place, I kind of fell in love with it within days. From then on my life totally changed - and I just could not believe my luck. Less than five months later I was discovering the special delights of Bangkok, and soon thereafter many other countries in this amazing continent. Only once since then have I ever seriously thought about leaving Asia. I am happy I did not.

This was my go-to place for several years. Always very cute guys available.  Never did check out their shop way out on Sukhumvit after their Soi 8 place closed. Good memories 👍

Forgive the cynic in me, and it is nothing personal, however reduced to it’s bare bones and in abstract…….
A Farang newly retired to Pattaya meets a Rent Boy, who becomes his Fuck Buddy, who becomes his Pimp, who becomes his Boy Friend.
 Sounds like Boy Friend, not in the first bloom of youth, starts to become financially dependent on his Farang. Farang decides to break up with Boyfriend but as a breakup gift provides Boyfriend with wherewithal to set up his own business.  
The business is selling fruit salad which requires the boyfriend, who likes to party until dawn on Jomtien beach, to get up early to purchase fruit in the market and then be in attendance to run the business. 
 After a few weeks of the business(which is not going well) being set up Boyfriend persuades Farang that perhaps their relationship may still have a future after all so is ready to walk away from the business for a few weeks to be with Farang. Farang meanwhile is putting time, and probably more money sooner or later, into correcting the Boyfriends mismanagement of the business.
 This reads like quite a lot of similar stories, and the chances of this working out well, in any of the relevant areas, are small.
But I wish you luck.
 My early relationship with my Thai partner also had a poor prognosis, but amazingly we are still together and happy after thirty years!

It's definitely confusing because while the Revene Department has now recreated a way to remit income from abroad tax free for 25 & 26, ongoing discussions continue regarding a shift to taxation of worldwide income. 
Probably a lot of Internal polical struggle over this issue....
