THE REAL REASON DONOLD WANTS TO IMPOSE TARIFFS ON CANADA
RockyRoadTravel replied to Goober's topic in Politics
The Incompetent-in-Chief also hates Canada, probably, because they have been successful with creating a healthy, non-gun totting society, where multi-culturalism is celebrated and not criminalized. Also, Canada has lots of water. If the lakes were filled with Coke or Pepsi the Incompetent-in-Chief might not hate Canada as much. Canada's inflation fell to 1.7% in July, signaling at least two more interest rate cuts this year. Mortgage rates are just over 4% now. Canada is limiting tariffs on USA goods at the moment, because they don't want to increase taxes (aka tariffs) on Canadian consumers. I hope Nebraska will survive the Trump economic crisis being created in agriculture. -
Anyone here have any idea why Trump fears the Bhutanese?
RockyRoadTravel replied to unicorn's topic in Politics
Trump is afraid of every foreign leader. He is weak. Very weak. -
Trump is a weak leader. Has there ever been a weaker leader in the USA history? Carter negotiated a lasting peace between Egypt and Israel. Reagan managed to conclude summits with the Soviets where treaties to reduce nuclear weapons were signed. Clinton (mostly) kept us out of wars. Obama took out Bin Laden. Trump, has sucked the dicks of several dictators.

Nevada and Florida, states that are more dependent on the tourism that the Incompetent-in-Chief has been driven away by his stupid trade war, are now Number 1 and Number 2 in mortgage defaults across the country. Almost 1 in every 2500 homes was in default in July. Large increase in defaults across the country from 2024. So much (fucking) winning

Mounting U.S. debt problems could lead to ‘shocking developments’
RockyRoadTravel replied to a topic in Politics
Neo-conservative governments (Reagan/Thatcher/Pinochet) ushered in the era of massive government debts. And neo-conservative ideologs have always been the ones who have continued to drive governments into ever higher levels of debt (Mulroney/Harper in Canada, Johnson in Britain, Bush/Trump in the USA). They've never believe in small government debt levels, they have always believed in cutting taxes for the ultra-rich and fuck the government books. -
The next administration is going to have so much to clean up after these fuckwads are finished messing up with incompetence and bravado. Top of the agenda will have to be Supreme Court reform. These extremist who declare corporations are people, and that money is free speech sold the nation out to a bunch of billionaires who want to buy elections. Merrick Garland may have made a good Supreme Court Justice, he was way to timid as an Attorney General. The next (sane) Attorney General will have to be a pit bull for the rule of law, upholding the Constitution, and defending the right to vote and democracy from these MAGA extremists.

The impacts aren't going to be felt immediately, and the brain drain that's happening because of the anti-science, anti-information, anti-fact agenda of the Incompetent-in-Chief and his minions, will definitely have a lasting negative impact on the American economy and society. We're in an information age, with an anti-education agenda. The policy pursued by the current federal government is to concentrate wealth amongst a few billionaires, and then those billionaires will buy out any upstarts to eliminate competition in the "free" market we have. There's nothing free about the oligarch economy in the USA promoted by MAGA.

Lauren Rinaldi - don't forget your Bill Clinton chips from the bankrupt Bill Clinton casino -
Hopefully some of the honorees will come to their senses and decline the honor for an honorable time

Let this thread died, as does everything that Trump touches. No reason or facts are going to impact a Russian bot or Trump Delusion Syndrome
-
I'm waiting for him to tell the United Nations to move out of New York City for some bullshit reason he's manufactured in his colon of government policy.

A yard stick would just be a reminder of how he doesn't measure up. (Other than Burma and Liberia, the rest of the world uses meters, just saying.)

What's your plan/suggestion?

Trump is being played by Putin no doubt. No one who has had to work with Trump ever writes a book about how bright the man is. This "land swap" that the Incompetent-in-Chief is talking about - where exactly is this equal amount of Russian territory that's going to be swapped to Ukraine, to make up for the Russian occupied Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk etc. Or is the Incompetent-in-Chief swapping land like Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain did with Hitler, in the great pre-WWII policy failure of appeasement. Here Hitler, take Czechoslovakia and Austria, no strings attached. Appeasement won't work with Putin. (And Democrats, appeasement won't work with our own American Hitler wannabe.)

The Mad King and his new soon to be kingdom - Washington D. C.
RockyRoadTravel replied to RockyRoadTravel's topic in Politics
I don't think that's what it's about. I think it's about the Incompetent-in-Chief having complete military and policing control around the Capitol for his next coup attempt. If there's people on here who support Trump that's fine, and be honest that you don't give a shit about the Constitution, the rule of law, democracy, or the American working-class - white, brown or black. -

Trump may be incompetent on the economy and meeting the needs of Americans, but he's finely tuned about meeting his own needs. If he controlled Washington DC in 2020, the way he wants to control it now. The Washington DC police department would have never showed up to the Capitol and intervened in his coup attempt. Is he planning another coup? We best be prepared and start making plans. -

I know I'm repeating myself about your buddy Lichtman. He failed to account for Biden being a poor campaigner. The keys (from the 80's or 90's) aren't enough to reflect the digital age of campaigns. It doesn't matter that Biden delivered a lot of good policy, he didn't know how to campaign effectively in the digital age. -

We have an obligation to scream if we're being thrown out the window by our jailer. -
Another reason not to become the 51st, 52nd, 53rd ... 63rd State. A boring technical process, that's what drawing electoral boundaries should be. Gerrymandering, basically a non-issue in Canada. Canada has an independent federal Electoral Commission that draws the electoral boundaries based on geographic integrity, population and representing communities. They then hold public hearings to review and get comments on the draft boundaries before they're finalized. No provinces ever loss political representation, all provinces which are growing more than the national average will get extra seats (BC, Alberta and Ontario). To get on the voters list, it's a check mark on your annual income tax form. Boring. Efficient. Simple. Transparent. No chaos. I'm sorry I have to disagree with you. Trump is the Deep State liar. He's signing a contract with Peter Thiel to develop a national data base on Americans. Trump is fulfilling his dream of a surveillance state.
