A short report on my last trip to Colombia.
The plan was to first go to Bogota and then, via Pereira and Manizales, to Medellin, finishing the trip with a few days in Cúcuta.
After receiving an invitation to a gay wedding in Barranquilla, I unfortunately had to cancel the Pereira and Manizales part of the trip.

I stayed in Chapinero. My Airbnb had a change in its visitor policy, requiring me to register visitors 24 hours in advance. As a result, I mainly used the motels around Calle 61 and Carrera 14a (basic rooms at around 45 kCOP).
Those motels are a bit hard to reach though, due to the works on the new metro system.

Northern Barranquilla is quite nice. I stayed at the Prado Hotel, a 5* luxury hotel for an incredible price (3 nights for $160). You can simply let security know you're inviting your companion to the pool bar or restaurant. If they're staying overnight, you have to register them.
The wedding was fun, with a party in a finca in Puerto Colombia, near the beach. 
Gay discos: 
lives: closed for renovation Patio / phuket: Patio is outdoors, phuket indoors. Nice atmosphere, music not too loud.  Legacy: music volume deafening, but cheap and plenty of cute guys. Nightlife is mostly limited to Friday / Saturday evening. 
Saunas:
Dark: looks promising, but they close early and I arrived near closing time. They also run a motel (not at the same location). 
Guys:
Grindr is very popular. Most men are happy to meet you for free or for a small fee (50 kCOP is common). Because almost all of them live in the south (the city's poorest and most dangerous neighborhood), they ask you to pay for taxi fares, which can add up. You can't use Uber Moto Taxi, as it's illegal in Barranquilla for two men to ride a motorcycle.
 
Medellin
It was quite hot in the city of eternal spring, and I'm not just talking about the men, but also about the weather. As always, I had a wonderful time.
Sauna:
Cruising:  According to friends, it's the most popular sauna these days. I went there at 5 p.m., and it was packed. All types of men.

industry club:  A "plaza" now is in control of Industry Club, a local gang that claims a monopoly on all drug sales in the club. If you bring or use drugs that weren't purchased from them, you'll receive a multa (a fine). Gang members patrolling the entrance, the dance floor, and the restrooms kind of spoil the atmosphere. I don't use drugs myself, but because I often go to the restroom after a few drinks (small bladder), they even started harassing and interrogating me. A bit of a downer. premium: plenty of eye candy, the place to be. Music not too loud and a great 'flow' like they say over here.  prado verde: 'remate' disco & motel located in a very bad part of centro, but they have excellent security (they walk you to your car). Very popular nowadays. People start arriving around 2am and by the time the other discos close, it's packed.  Since it's also a motel, you can immediately take your friend of the night to a room (basic rooms at 38kCOP). Recommended (for night owls). Guys:

Cucuta:
A friend and reader of this forum accompanied me on this part of the journey. As I said before, it's not a place for the faint of heart. I would only recommend to go there if you have plenty of experience travelling in South America, good situational awareness and you speak sufficient Spanish.
We had a great time anyway. There were plenty of handsome guys, and the advantage of not being alone is that you can keep an eye on each other (share your location).
Some changes:

I'm planning a solo trip to Colombia in March, and it will be my first time traveling outside of the US/ Canada. I just started learning Spanish with a tutor in Colombia (by video), so hopefully, I'll know some basic conversational Spanish by then. Here is the hidden secret gay sex club many of you have been hoping for. Sort of.
This space was for many years a classic men’s sauna with requisite steam room, jacuzzi, video room and dark room.  During the pandemic, it underwent a management change who changed the programming to make the club stand out in the local scene.
The club is notorious for its weekly orgies and occasional special events. Themes range from young + hung, interracial, fisting, and double penetration parties. This space is not for amateurs. You must contact them via WhatsApp for the weekly programming since the day of week can change, mainly Saturday night orgies (8pm-6am) with the occasional Wednesday special theme night. The entire space is open game for sexual encounters on event nights, so plenty of cruising happening. As discussed, there are escorts available for hire at these events in their provided guest rooms – typically found on the second floor.  The rest of the spaces around the hotel are available for group sex and breakout couplings.  
Fair warning: These events get very intense. Drug use is rampant and open. Cocaine is everywhere and the place smells of weed from the time you enter. Tusi (tussy), a pink stimulant mix that contains MDMA and fentanyl, is prevalent here.  Much of the sex is bareback. Well my 5 weeks in Colombia just gone like it was nothing. I'm leaving Bogota today and here are my final thoughts. 
First of all, many thanks to all guys on this forum for all the tips and recos, I wouldn't make it without you👍
I think for a beginner Bogota should be the starting point, it feels the safest out of all places I've been to in Colombia, has plenty of paid and unpaid guys with reasonable prices, lovely weather and lots to see in and outside the city. 
I stayed 1w in Cedritos, which was clean and lovely, safe and just enjoyable but it's residential so only local unpaid guys around you, however paid guys were happy to visit Cedritos on request. I managed to meet ppl from Tinder and Grindr, which felt totally safe, local guys are very keen to meet a foreigner. My 2nd week was in Unilago area north of Chapinero, and it felt different, still relatively safe but too many ppl and untidy, although lots of paid and unpaid guys around. 
My last week I just dated one guy from tinder, which was unpaid and he paid everywhere for himself(except when it was too expensive to eat because I wanted to go to a fancy place so I'd pay). Met lots of guys in their 20s, although I'm more after mid age guys, I found those young ones that were bigger and more "masculine" looking so I was happy with the choice. 
Had a few trips around the city and the countryside looks just like a mix of England and Gran canaria which is really unexpected and I enjoyed those little towns and villages very much, they all felt safe and touristy.

Just come back from a trip from Mexico City so I thought I'd give an update.
Arriving at the airport there are self service passport checks at the border. As you come into arrivals - turn right and you'll find the official taxi payment processors DO NOT go outside and get your own taxi. It's about 300 pesos to the city.  I stayed at the Sheraton for 9 nights. I had no problems bringing guests back. This is a decent hotel and I was upgraded from a Corner Suite to a Malmaison Penthouse Suite.
 
Bars are relatively conservative I went to the following:
In the gay area:
Blow Bar - 150 pesos cover charge. This is 70% women to 30% men. GoGos are hot but they keep their shorts on the whole time. The women here tend to be a bit screetchy and scream when the guys dance.
Marikoteca - Unsure of the cover charge because it was 250 pesos on NYE. This used to be kinky bar - 50% to 50% men and women. The women here are different, chill, don't scream etc. Again GoGos are hot but stay in shorts. Drag show is maximum effort - one bitch was waltzing round in a ball gown.
Workshop/ El Taller - 100 pesos cover charge. Drag show; no GoGos but the staff are really the nicest in the city. Chilled out.
Macho and King/ Papi Fun bar* - No cover charge, no menus and no show; these are scam bars. Do not go to them. You will pay prices similar to Los Angeles.
Sauna Olympio* - 250 cover charge, decent enough gay sauna and bathhouse.
Outside the gay area:
Tom's Leather Bar - 250 pesos cover charge inc. five drinks. Guys dance with hard ons in the two bar areas. They do this every half hour from 10:30 for 15 minutes. The crowd and the staff are good fun here. Worth the Uber with one caveat - I'm a smoker when on a night out so I didn't mind but the guys here smoke in the main bar which wouldn't be ideal for someone with respiratory problems.
Near the historic center:
Funny Love Cabinas - 100 pesos cover charge inc. one drink. This is cabins in a sex shop. You go in and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. The guys stand around the Cabins. There is a show here (full sex) but they don't give out the details. It just happens.
Sexto Piso - 150 pesos cover charge. Most difficult place to find. In the same street as Funny Love you go into a building and it's on the 6th floor. Staff very nice. Cruise club with light room and dark room. Guys fucking all over.
Cine Savoy - 60 pesos entry. Old fashion sex cinema. Anyone can get it here. It's packed with about 100 men.
Things to be aware of:
Gringo prices - You will pay gringo prices in a load of bars. I've put * next to the ones I paid extra in. This can be anywhere from an extra 100 pesos in the sauna to an extra 100$ in Macho and King bars. If they won't give you a price list, just walk out. HOWEVER, if you chose to be taken to a table by a waiter and they run around after you and look after you all night expect to pay about 20% for drinks. I didn't mind at all because I took it as a service charge but if you're on a tight budget go to the bar yourself.
Uber - Uber is 99% safe however, do not come off the main drag or the busy areas to make it easier for your driver. This leaves you vulnerable. The concierge told me that occasionally an Uber driver accepts and if the area is remote, they send friend to rob the gringo waiting for them.
The metro - If you want to get flashed at, or see someone suck off a random guy - use the last carriage of the metro from Cuauhtémoc to Hidalgo.
The street scene - Not my thing but there are a few guys who look too vulnerable to me but they offer sex for less than 10$. These are not in much evidence but they are occasionally available and always on Hamburgo Street between C.Ambrese and C.Varsovia.
Closed bars - old favourites BoyBar and BotasBar are perminantly closed. 
Honestly - I'll be back to Rio for my next adventure. CDMX isn't a lovely place but fun. 
 
 
 
 
 
 

If I have not mentioned this before, I apologize. @midwestdad is absolutely correct and the dozens of miradores around Medallo are a great excursion with a new friend.  Download the app Miradores Destination for the best selection with instructions how how to arrive (choose an Uber unless you really enjoy steep hiking trails) and to know what amenities are on site. Some have restaurants and entertainment, other have simple cantinas where you can buy a beer and take in the city lights. Great way to end a day in Medellín.

I just got back from Medellín on Saturday from an eight-day trip.  It was my first time in Colombia.  I had an amazing trip and never felt unsafe.  I will admit that I planned a trip back in April, but then canceled because I read too many Facebook sorry stories about crime.  Obviously it's terrible whenever something bad happens to anyone.  Like others have noted, common sense and trusting your instincts will go a long way.  I don't drink, use other chemicals, and I don't party.  I wore an Apple Watch and used my phone occasionally on the street, but I wasn't obnoxious about it. 
I met up with many guys, mostly from Grindr and mileroticos.  They were all very attractive and I had a great time.  I did my best to vet them, and make sure they had social media, twitter, an onlyfans, etc.  My sense is that many were interested in ongoing financial support, either directly or through through their websites.  To be blunt, if they kill you they might get what's in your wallet that day, but nothing in the future.
I think the best advice I can give you is to spend time with the local guys, and they will look out for you.  The local job market is really tough and there are many guys on Grindr who are unemployed and bored.  I was very interested in seeing the sites around town, like Comuna 13, museums, Pueblito Paisa, parks, and Guatepe.  I met up with two guys in particular and offered to buy them lunch and pay for travel expenses.  Both were happy to take me around town and were very proud of their city and its culture.  One even took me up to Mirador Picacho in the evening to see some breathtaking views of the city at night.  I was a bit apprehensive but it was worth it.  The trip to Guatepe was also worth the two hour Uber drive!
I'm already planning my next trip back.  There are many more things I want to see and guys I just didn't have time to meet up with!

Two small things 1) at Taurus while the interactivo action starts downstairs on a platform they put near the bar where the interactivo guys indeed stand while others sucking/rimming/fondling/touching them, quite soon afterwards the action and the crowd moves upstairs to this giant fuckodrome they have in the well-lit upstairs room leading to darkrooms - that fuckodrome is essentially a huge rectangular mattress/couch taking pretty much the whole room - in that respect Taurus is a tad different

I have a fair bit of experience organizing parties with 3 or 4 GPs in Europe, the US, and Colombia, at my hotel or Air BnB. Usually going about 3 hours, sometimes longer. Generally they have been super hot, sometimes just off the charts spectacular.  Occasionally a guy will be a dud and just isn't into it, or doesn't have chemistry with the other guys, in which case I diplomatically send that boy home after the first hour. In such cases I will usually have fun with the other guys deciding which new GP to invite to sub-in (so to speak.) My goal is usually to mix things up in terms of roles and body types.

The problems I have had are not related to jealousy or anything like that, but more generally if a guy shows up who has already been partying and is strung out - although that has been infrequent. And usually I find that the boys police themselves. If one of them is acting strange (e.g. is strung out) the other guys will tell him to leave, etc, and are very protective of me as their client. As far as I can recall, the guys have all gotten along. In fact I hosted a party with three scorts in Phoenix this year and found out that two of the guys who met at my party hooked up as partners, and started travelling / living together, LOL! I think the key to my successful experience as a party host has been:

I got the idea to visit Colombia like a year ago after seeing and chatting with all the hot Colombian and Venezuelan boys on Chaterbate. I have a thing for young Latino BOTTOM boys, and I just discovered how cheap yet nice the accommodations in places like Bogota are, so spending a week in Colombia sounds like a lot of fucking (affordable) fun. I see there are numerous nice AirBnb options available around the area where Theatron is located, which is perfect because I'm super excited to check out the club. I assume this area is also the place to be for escorts on Grindr? I've already found and chatted with two guys from Mileroticos who I want to meet, but I'm sure I'll come across a lot of what I'm looking for on Grindr. I've been using the Explore feature, and the current selection looks promising. 
 
I just have a few questions for y'all:
1. After reading through a lot of posts in the forum, it seems as though a lot of the foreign visitors are looking for mostly top Colombian guys. Are the majority of the escorts more on the top side? I'll be on the hunt for bottom boys like the boys in the photos. Will that be difficult for me? 
2. Bogota seems like the best option as a first-time visitor to Colombia, so I was planning to just stay a week in Bogota. However, given how I'm into young bottom boys, does that make Medellin the better option? It seems like a lot of the boys on Chaterbate I consider most hot are from Medellin.
3. Another poster I came across on this forum mentioned finding other like-minded travelers who would split accommodations and party overnight with multiple boys. That sounds like a hot fucking time! If anyone is interested in doing that, let me know!

There is no shortage of bottom guys in Medellin!  I wouldn't spend a lot of time trying to chase down webcam guys.  From what I can tell many have set work schedules that they can't or don't deviate from.  Even though some might be really good at their jobs, it is usually just a job for them.  You will have zero trouble connecting with guys through Grindr and other apps.  Treat them nicely, and they will reciprocate.  
Personally, I'd be a little reluctant to try and arrange an all night party with multiple guys.  Most hotels and Airbnbs will allow at most two guests.  Most all nighters involve a fair amount of alcohol and other chemicals, which could make you somewhat vulnerable.  I've had zero issues one-on-one with local guys.  Most are very friendly and eager to show you a good time.

Since this is my first post, I’ll start with the country where I have the most (and most recent) experiences: Brazil.  Rather than repeating what everybody else has already said, I’ll just highlight some of the salient points.  Forgive any duplication with other threads.  I understand that I cannot yet see all threads (since I’m a newbie) so my post my contain ideas that are already discussed in those invisible threads.
In/out:  I always order in when playing from Grindr or meeting a GP from an ad.  When booking my AirBnB, I therefore avoid apartments that have rules along the lines of “Only persons registered at the time of booking are allowed in the apartment.”  I’ll only use a hotel in a country that I haven’t visited (and only if I’m concerned about safety there).  And when reserving that hotel, I’ll book it for two persons (to avoid a situation where the desk says that only one person is allowed in the room). In Rio I always stay in the Ipanema/Copacabana neighborhoods; in SP, always Consolação/Jardins.
Ads:  I use Grindr (for playing and for GPs), garotocomlocal and vivalocal.  I enjoy tantra massages but also like screwing.  I have hired two masseurs from vivalocal who advertise “massage only” to receive a tantra/naked massage… and ended up making out and having lots of foreplay with one and fucking the other one.  In fact, that is my ideal GP date.  Regarding the ad photos/videos, I’ve seen many ads over the last few years with the same old photos.   (I do the same thing with my Grindr pics, so:  pot, kettle). I also realized that many of the GPs do commercial photoshoots when they’re in peak condition (eg, after finishing a cycle of steroids).  The difference between their peak condition and their standard condition might be significant.  Of course, even in their non-peak condition they are usually gorgeous.  So do not be disappointed if the 8-pack abs are missing when you meet your online GP in person.
Online GP prices:  When establishing contact with GPs, I use WhatsApp with a local number (from a local SIM) and write in Portuguese in an effort to not receive an inflated tourist price.  Because I don’t want to give the GP a step-by-step play of everything that I want him to do, I usually just inform the GP that I enjoy massages and that I am top.  Many GPs have one price for massages, plus another price for bottoming (which, if I remember correctly, they refer to as the “full program”).  They usually also have a surcharge for Uber.  To avoid any issues, I now am always clear that I am paying one single price for their time and that there are no surcharges.  I usually get a lot of pushback regarding the Uber, but I prefer GPs who are flexible, so I stick with that filter.  As a result, all of the GPs who I do not filter out have been great and have always received generous tips (much more than what the Uber surcharge would have been).
Rejecting GPs:  Chemistry is extremely important to me.  If the GP has arrived in the last 120 seconds and no clothes have been removed, I will only give him the equivalent of what the Uber charge would have been but not the price of the massage/program.  Luckily that has only happened once in the last 18 years. 
Dance clubs:  I never finished mourning Le Boy (at the Ipanema/Copacabana intersection) and then had to start grieving the closure of The Week (Rio).  So I don’t even bother with dance clubs when I visit Rio these days.  São Paulo has many more options for nightlife, although frankly I haven’t tried any of the SP dance clubs because I’m always too busy enjoying the REAL reason for my trip.
Safety:  I use Uber instead of taxis.  I never use street trade.  The AirBnBs that I choose all have a doorman.  A couple of times I made GPs send me (via WhatsApp) a copy of the ID that they would be showing to the doorman.  I walk a lot while in Brazil but rare venture beyond Ipanema/Copacabana or Consolação/Jardins. While there, my clothes are never flashy; just basic shorts, tank top and sandals. No jewelry or watch.  No phone in hand.  No camera.  When going to the beach, instead of wearing speedos I wear a swimsuit with a pocket and only take sunscreen, a book and enough money to rent a lounge and umbrella (and to buy a couple of drinks), but leave my cards, cash and phone in the AirBnB.  Fortunately (knocking on wood as I type this) I personally haven’t had any physical safety issues (but do not know people who were not being cautious and were mugged or robbed at gunpoint). 
Gyms:  Relatively inexpensive day passes are available at most conventional gyms.  As you might imagine, the eye candy is there incredible.  I never hooked up directly from the gym but did hook up on Grindr with someone who went to my gym.
Rio vs SP:  When I’m more in the mood for the beach and relaxing (with sex as an added bonus), definitely Rio.  When I’m more in the mood for sex, definitely SP.  If you’re mostly a fan of online GPs, note that many of them do travel circuits throughout Brazil.  So don’t plan on going to a certain city just for one particular GP, since it is highly possible that he may have moved on to his next destination when you arrive.
