I know, but I couldn’t help myself 🙂 . However, the forum is quite full of recommendations on venues to explore.

Hi boyjt and welcome to the forum For gays to explore in Bangkok you can open Grindr or Hornet, plenty of gays there. Nox is pretty new and far away from Silom and centre.. See if you can find some of their guys working in other and closer venues. Glam’s is a solid upmarket choice and guaranteed H. Good luck!

Guys, don’t take the bait. You know Christian gets a dominance boost out of pressing prices/tips as low as he can.

First Time exploring Massage/Bar in Bangkok
Enchanted_Elixir replied to RavenFlock's topic in Gay Bangkok
From what I hear on the grapevine, it depends on the masseur. Shino will not offer H, but you might have better luck with First or Babe. -
You’re not wrong, you’re just operating in a different intellectual time zone.

I find it super interesting that you interpreted my post that way.

Yes, we might be comparing the prices of fresh peaches with those of old bitter lemons.

Do the guys who charge 700 B an hour in Bangkok look like the masseurs at «History of Massages»?
-
Yes it was at Urban Thai, very conveniently located near Le Meridien.
-
I had manicure and pedicure + waxing of the ears, that is removing those hairs that become numerous as you advance on your journey to become an octogenarian. I used to go to a different shop near Senso men club that also provided the Chinese style ear wax cleaning treatment as an add on to waxing. That lady sold her shop this year unfortunately so I can no longer avail myself of her services.

Ah those days, and Soi Twilight 🕯️

New massage shop - Soft Opening: FaFa Massage [Bangkok]
Enchanted_Elixir replied to Verchiele's topic in Gay Thailand
This is an H place and tip rates are all-inclusive of full service and rates are stated very clearly for each masseur on their Line feed. Indeed tip rates will vary for each individual but going from 1000-1200, up to 3000 B in some rare cases. -
Third floor - trip to SE Asia in Jan/Feb 2026

That he is called Jey at Glam’s does not change the fact that it is the same person working both places 🤷‍♂️ Time to go to Specsavers. -

Yes JJ is the name he uses. I found him in 20 seconds in the Line feed. He is now also at Glam’s. -

TCS Spa is an SS place where you’re not supposed to be offered penetrative services. Naturally admin won’t inform you of their role. That of course won’t prevent you from being offered it, as was clear from the review… if you read the review: »Halfwaythrough, he told me to keep this a secret as they were not supposed to have anal sex with customers and he would get into trouble if found out.» -
PeterRS, Your point about missionaries riding in the slipstream of empire is worth keeping on the table. In a lot of places, “colonialism” was not just a flag and a garrison. It was also schools, courts, bureaucracies, and a moral vocabulary that got baked into law. It’s hard to talk about anti-sodomy statutes across Africa without acknowledging that inheritance. Where this thread risks going sideways is when postcolonial theory gets used like a moral credit card. Swipe “the British did it,” feel absolved, and move on. That isn’t analysis. It’s a ritual of blame. It can even become a way of refusing to look at what is actually happening now, on the ground, in real communities with real fears, resentments, and power struggles. A more serious postcolonial reading does two things at once. First, it admits historical conditioning. Legal scripts, policing habits, and the prestige of “Victorian respectability” did not emerge from the soil unaided. Colonial governance did leave behind tools, and later states learned how to use them. The past still has hands. Second, it refuses the comforting fantasy that LGBT politics is automatically anti-imperial. In the West, the rainbow is not an outsider symbol anymore. It’s often a brand, a corporate badge, a state-approved moral posture. That matters, because it changes how LGBT rights talk is received elsewhere. When your language arrives stamped with the seal of Western governments, NGOs, and global capital, it can be experienced not as liberation but as a new kind of soft power. Whether that perception is fair or cynically cultivated, it is politically real. And that is part of the tragedy in places like Senegal. Local elites and movements can weaponise the suspicion that homosexuality is “a Western import.” They can wrap repression in anti-colonial pride, and it will land, because the story has just enough historical truth to be believable. Meanwhile the people getting arrested are not abstractions. They are bodies. They are neighbours. They are scapegoats in a theatre of state and street. So yes, colonial history matters. But it does not exhaust the explanation. Postcolonial agency matters too, including the agency of governments, clerics, media, and crowds who actively choose targets and ratchet up the heat. If our theory can’t hold both realities at once, it turns into moralising. It makes us feel clean while other people get hurt. The hard lesson is that neither “anti-colonialism” nor LGBT or queer theory can be a magic key that unlocks every door. They can yield insight when used with humility and specificity. They become dangerous when they flatten cultures into villains and victims, and when they confuse slogans for understanding. If we care about the people being arrested, we should be allergic to easy narratives. We should tell the historical truth without turning it into a single-cause morality play. And we should speak in a way that defends the vulnerable without importing a script that makes everyone else feel conquered by our words.

First Time exploring Massage/Bar in Bangkok
Enchanted_Elixir replied to RavenFlock's topic in Gay Bangkok
Yes, that is a typical experience. I find that all the masseurs have their own style when it comes to to B2B. Some even joined you in the shower later. Just to be clear: minimum tip for HJ at Ssense is 500+, whereas B2B is 900+, for normal massage it is 100-200. As always you can add a little to the tip if you’re very satisfied with the service. -

@Tomontheroad You can try Wabi Sabi massage in Sathorn too. I have been there twice. The Residences massage has a combined branch with sauna in Silom which might be of interest, but I have not tested it. -
Homo Hill is in Itaewon. It is a cluster of gay bars and clubs.

Is South Korea a good place to visit for gays?
Enchanted_Elixir replied to asntp's topic in Gay Korea
Sure there are many places for gays in Seoul, and inactivity on certain subjects in this forum does not imply inactivity of the place itself. Since homosexuality is not as accepted socially in South Korea as in Taiwan for example it is more discreet. The Thailand forum here is mostly silent on the White Party, Songkran circuits and bear parties etc. without that implying that these are not options for gay foreigners, rather it reflects the lack of interest of those subjects of the regular posters on the forum. Gay Korea is mostly clustered around Itaewon, but you can also find a few options in Gangnam. -
Thailand Trip Report February/March 2026
Enchanted_Elixir replied to jimmie50's topic in Gay Thailand
Last time I went, I stayed close to Nana plaza. That was certainly an experience 🤣. Sometimes I find that Sukhumvit is a good area to get a change from Silom. Jey spa is never far way… -

Please note that Ssense is an SS place, whereas Jey Spa is an H place. Both of them are very good but adjust your expectations according to the type of shop! -
BKK Feb 2026 Trip report - Let Me Tell You Something
Enchanted_Elixir replied to GoldMember's topic in Gay Thailand
HE is understood differently by people on this forum, for some (most I guess) it refers to HJ only, whereas for others they seem to understand it as all extras including penetration. Needless to say that has caused some confusion here in the past… I’m not surprised that Singha was fully booked for 6 days straight. He is their #1 masseur. Knott used to occupy that place but he hasn’t climbed in the ratings since he returned a short while ago. You will notice that most of the guys in their top 4-5 are quite hunky, reflecting no doubt the demands of their Asian clientele. Last time I was there some clients were posing with Singha so they could publish the pics on XiaoHongShu (Rednote) later. Ssense remains a good option in this market segment with their quality control and competitive pricing. -
No it is not particularly cheap there. If you want cheap you should go to SE Asia instead.
