  1. Oh, I see, Vinapu, please be careful when you present your point of view as to not tell how you feel if your feelings reflect negatively (I didn't see it in the above quote) on the owner of another board. All boards are suppose to work together to rid the Gay Thailand community of dissent. I just reread George Orwell's 1984 recently and like surfcrest, we need to be uniformly in agreement on every matter for the betterment of the gay Thailand world. (sarcasm)
  2. I am glad you and Gaybutton have a good relationship. That is great. I am happy with that. I did not know that this board was in the outside of the mix and not successful working together. This is news to me and I am glad you bring it up. I do not think that working together prohibits the free flow of comments on a board. If you feel we should give you or him special treatment as you own another board, well, that is just insane. IMHO. As a member, I don't see either of you treated any different than another member. The main difference I see is that you can't control the flow of discussion the way you can on other boards. I don't think that is a bad thing. But, I have read this thread over again since reading your comment and have yet to see how Gaybutton was disrespected in the thread. He got as good as he gave and he is the one that started the giving. In your world, it may be better to let him have his say and then for the admins to jump in and protect any negative comments about him, but to me, that is just weird. He chose to get involved in the discussion. He chose to be aggressive about his stance and he was challenged. Isn't that what a board is suppose to allow and encourage? I have known Gaybutton for many years and I think he knows that when I have a disagreement with him over a post on a message board that it is not personal. Some people just don't understand this. But, adults do not have to agree and just because he owns another board, that does not mean that he deserves preferential treatment here or on your board. IMHO
  3. Looking forward to this.
  4. So, with 33 posts in total since 2006, you don't post much here anymore as you have been treated like an outsider? Indeedy? I do not see discussion limited here at all. I see the opposite. I see people able to post about issues they want to post about and then a discussion is had. It may not end the way you or someone else wishes, but free and open discussions are important to a forum community IMHO. And, may I ask who piled on who? There seem to be statements that were in support of the original poster and against. And, I didn't see any group pile on anything. But, then again, I may be blind and sometimes need a guide to help me navigate.
  5. I am thrilled beyond belief. I read this as a kid growing up in Alabama and never understood why no other books were written.
  6. I want to say Reece Witherspoon but that is not it. LOL And, I don't want to look it up. I do remember seeing her on Survivor a few years back and thought she was wonderful.
  7. 3. The Facts of Life - pretty blond lady who is now religious?
  8. Yes, I think we will. I say your site is a business. You said it ain't. We disagree. Isn't that what we both agree to? My own feedback on the maps? Really? Do you really want that? OK. I'll tell you what I think about them. I think maps are a great way to get around. Just last year, I was traveling across the US and I used a Garmin. It helped me get from point A to point B in a superb manner. I find great value in maps.
  9. We will agree to disagree with the definition of a business. Facebook did not make profit for many years and operated at a loss. But, like you, they are not a business either. I do no disagree with your feedback of their maps. I do disagree with the way it was said. You must be a Yankee. I am a refined southern gentleman. We always try to say things in the nicest possible ways.
  10. I admit that I do find it amusing that people that state there is no need for nastiness when directed at themselves are OK to direct it at others. And, I think Gaybutton does a great service to the Gay Thailand community. Probably more than anyone since GayPattayan (I think that name is right) was around. But, for years I have said that there was no need to be nasty to him because he likes his "Iron Fist" and to shut down conversations and discussions. People that don't like it can not participate in his board. I know he is OK with that as he has stated that many times. But, regardless of what he says, his site is a business. It may not be in the money making business but it is a business and one that many rely on. Likewise, Out in Thailand is a business. They try to provide a different service. And, when they get things going well and the site is updated, they also will provide a valuable service to Gay Thailand. They are in the business to make money and thus, they must take their customer base suggestions and do with that as they will. Gay Button's business is not about money but it is about him having a voice in Gay Thailand and in the Gay Pattaya scene. When suggestions are given to him by his customer base, he can take that and do with it as he will. I see no issue or problem with the way either run their business. I think there is room for both and regardless of GayButton's Iron Fist or the lack of updates on Out in Thailand, I still enjoy looking at and reading both sites.
  11. Something on the Internet is inaccurate? Holy Shit. Let me call the New York Times. Maps are hard and difficult to do in Thailand as businesses come and go VERY fast and it is impossible to keep up with the data. Even if someone visits in Dec, things really change by April. So, it means almost having an impossible task. Relying on readers to give input is the best way for them to go. And, if you value their site, you will contribute and give them better info. If you don't give a rats ass about their site then take it and shove it and let them do their thing. If they get good detail and don't use it, that is on them and is bad business. If they take it and make the site better, then it is a valuable commodity for the gay Thailand community. Does anyone need to be nasty to them just because they don't update their maps. Holy Shit. Not me. I have better things to do with my time. But, for those of you that don't, enjoy.
  12. I would in a heartbeat. I have met him on several occasions in LA when I was there and always found him sexy. At a recent game, he had one of the trainers he took his head and rammed it into his crotch to simulate a blowjob. It was quick and meant to be funny but still hot.
  13. I find this conversation very interesting. Being a former pimp, I can tell you that there are two sides to escorts. The truth is that escorts are paid for sex and in the end, that is what they are after and it is their job to get that in any way possible. If that includes lies and deceit, then that is part of the job as well. If some are surprised at this, you really need to go back and rethink the exchange of sex for money. I can also tell you that escorts like spending time with some clients and detest spending time with others. Some enjoy the attention they get from men but also enjoy the conversation and the way they are treated. In some cases, they can't wait to get away from the guy. I think both have to do with the way they are treated. I have been to Brazil on less trips than Tom and Mvan but my trips are usually longer and I have been there on many occasions for 4-6 months at a time. The guys that were with me were with me for the money I paid them but they also loved the 3 ways and groups and dinners and trips and shopping sprees. I can't tell you the number of guys that I met 10 years back that I have not hired in 10 years but still keep in touch with me and chat with me. The reason for this is I treated them like a true friend and boyfriend as opposed to a piece of meat. As my mother said, the proof is in the pudding. A lot has to do with the way you treat guys. When I am in Thailand I have never had one guy that has been with me who has regular clients not be willing to give up their week or month to be with me. It is not because I am sexy and not because I pay them outrageous prices. It is because they know I actually do care about them, their future and will treat them with great respect while they are with me. Boytoys, escorts, hookers, etc around the world are the same. They have preferences as well. They like being treated with respect and kindness and not like a piece of meat. In Tom's adventures so eloquently outlined above, I have met and been with 2 of the guys for long periods of time and know them for a long period of time. They are working boys but they also are open to deeper friendships with guys that treat them right. One guy, I have known for at least 10 years and I see when in Rio and have gone years without seeing and yet I still get emails and photos and Happy Birthday reminders. To me, this says they are much more to me than just a hooker. But, then again, I never treat them just like a hooker. One thing I remember from Tom and I have said myself is that I don't like to recommend guys to someone as when you do, you never know what experience that person will have with the boy. 10 guys can see Diego and all 10 may have different experiences with him and come away with either happiness or disappointment. A lot comes into play with a sexual encounter. The age, weight and size of a penis, are just 3. But, also the respect, kindness and attentiveness are some others. But, also the boy may be having an off day, may have had a fight with his boyfriend or wife or their child may be sick and their mind is preoccupied. They still need to make money and thus why they are in the business. I don't quibble with anyone. I just say that we all have different experiences with guys. But, mine have been good 90 percent of the time.
  14. Best sex guy ever is adorable. The cousins are hot as well.
  15. I have not lived in Brazil for 5 years but I did live with a Brazilian in NYC for 5 years and can confirm that he was the best at taking every spare penny I made. Damn, his home life was very good. My work life was hectic but in the end, it was a good experience. I enjoy this discussion but please, lets debate the topic and not each other. As for IHPGUY, I have great respect for him and I also saw him work his magic. It works great. But, his command of the language is excellent and he can get away with a lot more than most of us can. He fits in and blends in. I stand out like a sore thumb just waiting to be sucked in by the right guy. We all have different experiences and expectations and that is what makes life so fucking wonderful. I wish I had the skill that ihpguy has or the charm that Tomcal has or the ability to pick up gay boys without pay. I don't. So, I go with my gifts and that is to be the highest bidder in the race. Hey, we all have to use what we have don't we?
  16. The boys that I go with come to understand that I do tip with good service. If that service is not there, they do not get a tip. But, if they go above and beyond, so do I. The going rate is fine to pay in any place. A tip is fine in any place is you so desire. That is your call and don't let anyone tell you different. If it is NYC and a 100 tip or Thailand and a 10 USD tip, a tip is appreciated. Again, I disagree. They all tell me that the idiots buy them food and drinks and the intelligent clients tip them. LOL JK I don't think you are an idiot for tipping. I also disagree that the boys find you an idiot. I have had my fair share of long term boys in Thailand and Brazil and USA and I negotiate everything in advance and that is what I pay. I also treat them to a great week or two or three. I take them shopping and I buy them nice things. Perhaps you are right in them thinking I'm an idiot. I'm thinking all the time, how lucky I am to have such a beautiful boy for such a great rate. Winning!
  17. Totally. Totally. Totally. Disagree. Tips are nice and while not expected, I don't think the guys that get them think you are a putz for giving them. I have done the full gambit. I have given tips, shopping trips and paid for entrance fees. All are appreciated. Having run a NYC escort service, I would say that most of the boys were tipped on most calls. IHP, you speak the language and you are there year round and not really a "foreigner" per say. You are a special case. Most of us are not. I am in Thailand often and I have been hiring for 14 years there. I still tip when given good service even though it is not expected. I do so as when I am in town, a boy will drop his bar or club or sauna and spend time with me over anyone else. To me, that is what I want and if I paid only the amount expected without any extras, there would be no incentive.
  18. I often hear this as well. I think one should pay what on wishes to pay. But, I always pay the local prices. I do this and then, after I tell them this is for the programma, (negotiated in advance), I'll hand them the tip of my choosing. I stopped just paying any amount that I felt was in line with American standards overseas many years back and only negotiate for what the locals pay. Most go. Some don't. But, those that go and get a tip with me always go back if I ask. But, I never negotiate above the local price point.
  19. No more taxis for me. I'll be on the subways as soon as these price increases take effect.

  21. Bob, that is probably the best summary I have read about all of this!
  22. I am not sure why they decided to pursue this or aggressively go after an ex-Prime Minister but this may be more trouble for them than what it is worth. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/24/world/asia/in-impeaching-ex-premier-junta-revives-thailands-divisions.html
  23. Wow! This sounds like it is going to be a wild ride! Can't wait to read all about it! Hang on boys, Tomcal is in town!
  24. Yes, love it!
  25. I love New Kids on the Block when I was younger. They were cute and sexy and had great appeal. I just read the Jonathon Knight is going to be on Amazing Race with his lover of 7 years. Love this!
