He made that comment when he was 14 years old. I hope to goodness no one has videos of me when I was that age. I was a fucking idiot and said some horrendous things. Even at 19, I remember vividly a openly gay guy in my university and I would not ever even sit near him for fear of being found out. At the same time I was going into video booths and doing god only knows what. I also remember walking down Christoper Street and not going into any gay bar as I really thought someone from my church (in Alabama) would see me going in. The only point to the above is that often when we are young we are stupid and we learn and we grow. I think what he said was horrible and growing up in a racist family who used the N word and words to disparage gays all the time, I know how it feels to sit there and listen to thing you know are insane. Justin is hot and sexy and I want to fuck him. But, I also know that will never happen so I am not biased because he is cute. I tend to always believe that young people need 2nd and 3rd chances as they do stupid things. I know I did.

Also, I have friends that use Slingbox which lets you view anything on your home "slingbox" on your TV or Roku. There was a service I used a while back and liked but you must have a good connection to use overseas. It is called Nation TV. They set up a Sling Box for you in their Manhattan office and you are then allowed to get all the channels you want for a monthly fee. The fee is high at like 99-199 but if you love TV like I do, it is well worth it.

A federal judge in Madison Friday overturned Wisconsin's gay marriage ban, striking down an amendment to the state constitution approved overwhelmingly by voters in 2006 and prompting an emergency action by the state to halt the scores of weddings that began in the state's two largest cities. In the 88-page decision, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb ruled that the prohibition on same-sex vows in the state violated the rights of gay and lesbian couples to equal protection under the federal constitution and fair treatment under the law. She did not stay her ruling but also did not immediately issue an order blocking the enforcement of the ban, sparking a heated and hasty debate on whether the ruling meant that couples could immediately marry in the courthouses of Wisconsin. Instead, Crabb asked the gay couples who had sued over the ban to say by June 16 exactly what they wanted done to enforce her ruling, with a further wait of one to weeks for both sides in the lawsuit to file responses. Crabb, who was appointed by President Jimmy Carter, said she would then address whether to stay her decision while the matter is on appeal. http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/federal-judge-overturns-wisconsins-gay-marriage-ban-b99286138z1-262161851.html

Do you pee in the pool? I ask only as yesterday I was swimming and was in the pool for a few hours and got up to go to the bathroom every hour or so. But, there was a lady there who was drinking tons of beer and wine and never got out one time. I know she couldn't hold it in for that long. I almost asked her about it but as I didn't know her, I thought a bit rude, even for me. As a precaution, I swam on the other side of the pool.

OK, I am watching and enjoying it. It is a bit weird. LOL But, the actor who plays Dorian Gray is divine. I could literally stare at him all day and night and never take my eyes off of him.

I think thank you notes are not "in style" these days. I can't remember the last time I got one and I always send my cousins wedding and graduation gifts. I remember when I graduated high school, I sat for days writing thank you notes to everyone. My mother did not let me miss a one. Plus, I was thrilled just to be leaving Alabama!

I think it is one of the funniest things on TV. I have seen all 5 episodes and have to say for a new show, it is fucking amazing.

The admin and programmers will need to take the forums down for about 30 min as they do some work to the site. It will happen in 4 or 5 hours from now. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

OK Expat. You guys convinced me to watch American Horror Story and I did and love it. But, I HATE scary movies. Will I be able to watch this without shitting my pants every time I hear a noise at night?

Yeah, with the coup and all, I would plan for this June either. To date, still not CNN or BBC on the TV stations here. I did see some protesters out a few days back but they are not in big groups. It will be interesting to see what happens but you are right, not enough time for this July. As for the time of the year, unless you want to spend 24/7 at the beach, the time of year does not matter. July is rainy season and the rates are lower and the boys are hungrier. I detest Dec and Jan in Thailand as the crowds are big and the prices are the highest all year. Yes, still a bargain but it depends on where you stay. The hotel in Hua Hin I stayed in last December was over 250 per night. For that, I could be in many places.

Flashing 3 Fingers to protest coup may get you arrested

Brooklyn? Is that in New Jersey? -
Got a call from a boy that works in the Plaza last night and he asked me to come to Bangkok. He said the military had cracked down on the bars in Pattaya. He said he thinks things will get even worse. But, that just may be a reason for him to come for a visit. When I woke up this AM, I looked around to see if any reports of the raid and GayButton has some good info on it that was sent to him by the owner of Eros. http://gaybuttonthai.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6562

There were none the night I went. But, the hotel I stay in is mostly Asian tourist from China and Korea and Hong Kong. It is very quiet. The boys and I go swimming every day and the pool is usually crowded. We have had 3 days this week where we were the only ones in the pool area. I loved it but I felt bad for the restaurant that serves the pool as they have been very very slow.

Reading the Bangkok Post today and found it very interested that flashing 3 fingers to protest the coup may get you arrested. I have not seen this happening but I did watch the movies about that girl in the Hunger Games. Is that the same? Luckily, I am from NYC and we only use one finger consistently.

The boys were watching Thai TV and said that the curfew had been listed in Pattaya and a few other cities. It remains in place in Bangkok from 12-4AM.

I was chatting with a friend in Pattaya and was asked if I had heard about Neal. I don't know the details but the reports of his death seem to be true.
-
Sad to read this today. Duc was a true character in the Pattaya scene since I have been coming to Thailand. I had more than a few drinks and good conversations with him over the years. He will be missed.

We have a new support person here. His name is Boytoy. He will be helping in the admin of the site as well as work on new things that need to be done to take the site to the next level. I have known him since my days in NYC and I know he will be an asset to the site. As you all know, we try our best to keep improving on the site and making things better. It has never been a one man crew and I am happy to have someone else to implement new ideas and projects.
-
I love the idea. January is not possible for me as I have other commitments. How about July? That is not high season and the cost is much lower than the rest of the year for hotels and everything else.
-
I like the idea! I'd be happy to plan an adventure to Thailand if others are interested.

Great report. Thanks so much for sharing. How do you adjust time zone wise on short trips? It always takes me a few days each way to get adjusted.

Reminds me a bit of Sister Act. Amazing she is a real nun. She has a great voice. I bet her and the new pope will get along well as this is surely a new age for Catholics.
