  1. I really have no reason to lie. It happened. Having been out of the USA over 200 times in my life it is the one time this happened. So, I thought odd and wondered if others had experienced it. I am sure this was specific to Asia countries just as when I return from Amsterdam, they always have sniffing drug dogs. As far as trafficking, I really have not experienced it or heard it was so rampant. If you are talking about drug trafficking, I can't imagine anyone trying to take things over from USA to Thailand. I think it is far to easy to ship from countries close by. If trafficking means slaves, servitude, etc, I have not seen that either. Nor have I seen kids forced into the sex industry in Bangkok. I just haven't seen it. Now, I do see migrant workers doing construction, etc often, but I don't know the story and I don't ask. But, truly, I despise drugs and have never seen forced labor in Bangkok. Yes, I have been checked dozens of times in USA and I let them check computers, hard drives, etc. It was a regular thing until I just sat down each time and read a book as they went through my stuff. When they asked a question, I answered yes or no. They soon got bored of me. That was exactly what happened here.
  2. I really am happy to be an American. I am very unhappy that being an American does not stand for what it once did. We are not a democracy that is to be admired and looked up to by the rest of the world. We are not a shining example of anything any longer. We do have more freedom of speech but not as much as some other countries. Our liberties are being stripped away and our freedoms are being fucked with. Just look at the US House of Representative. Is it really representative of the people? With the new money from the billionaires, will my vote be as important as it once was? I don't think so. So, you are right jim, I should be happy to have been born on US soil. But, I am not happy that this country has gradually changed from the powerhouse it once was to being less relevant each year. I don't know. I answer in Yes or No for most questions. They want you to talk. But, that is stupid with these guys. I am not worried they will ever find anything illegal in my possession. I don't have it, never have and never will. But, I do hate that I was targeted as an older white guy traveling to Asia. That is my whole point. I have not liked the road we started down with the 2nd Bush and I think it gets no better each year.
  3. One was broken. My heart along with it. How do you break an iron skillet? It is not drugs they were looking for. If that were the case, they would have asked different questions. This was about human trafficking. I am not sure if looking for underage or not as that was never a question. I also agree with you on the none of their business stuff but they do prosecute people upon return for breaking laws overseas. And, prostitution is illegal in both Thailand and most states in USA. So, legally could they prosecute you for that? I think it is possible. Hard to prove but possible. This was done after the security check. I flew from Cincinnati. No stops as we were going to Minneapolis. After the gate agent checked us in going from Minn to Tokyo, the Homeland Security guys where there. They were not TSA.
  4. For the first time in 20 years traveling out of the USA, there was a team of Homeland Security agents that were picking people at random. The flight was headed to Asia. The passengers they were picking were single men. They asked questions like: Why are you going to Bangkok? What do you do there? Where do you stay? How many times have you been? Why do you go so much? Have you ever seen any trafficking of any kind? How many bags do you have? What are in them? Do you have camera equipment? I was more than a little surprised to get these questions upon leaving the USA. They said they were trying to target traffickers before they leave the USA. The questions were odd and I can't imagine a trafficker actually answering them wrong. When asked if I was going to Bangkok to see the ladies, I laughed and said no. He said, why do you laugh. I said, I'm gay so I have no desire for ladies. He asked if I liked boys. I said I have a Long Term Boyfriend for 10 years and if he calls that liking boys then yes, I guess I do. The conversation lasted about 10 min before he selected the next single guy. There were 6 agents in total. While I do realize that there must be a point to this, the rationale behind the expense baffles me. And, I was insulted that I was targeted as a traveling alone single guy. When I arrived in Thailand, I went to the customs and he guy said, "you have been here many times, you must like Thailand." I said Yes. He said, "good. Welcome to Thailand." Fuck America! (Yes, I know some of you will be upset over my foul language but I can't wait till I am 50 and never had to return to that cess pool of puritanical beliefs.
  5. It is always unpleasant. I despise it.
  6. Meant why are doing so many in Bangkok? or, perhaps: Why are you going to Bangkok? He did think it odd that one 70 pound bag was filled with Cast Iron Skillets. I had wanted them in Thailand for a while. They are heavy. He said how many? I told him 8. He asked why. I told him that my Aunt used Lard on them and they were seasoned well and fat people from the South like their lard seasoned skillets. He said, "Are you kidding about one bag of Iron Skillets?" I said, "no, just ask the TSA. I am sure they have been through the bags carefully by now."
  7. Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever heard of such shit? For the first time in 20 years traveling out of the USA, there was a team of Homeland Security agents that were picking people at "random". The flight was headed to Asia. The passengers they were picking were single men. They asked questions like: Why are you doing to Bangkok? What do you do there? Where do you stay? How many times have you been? I was more than a little surprised to get these questions upon leaving the USA. They said they were trying to target traffickers before they leave the USA. The questions were odd and I can't imagine a trafficker actually answering them wrong. I told them I didn't think trafficking happened in Bangkok but more likely the surrounding countries. He went on to explain how I was wrong. I just said, "I didn't know that." When asked if I was going to Bangkok to see the ladies, I laughed and said no. He said, why do you laugh. I said, I'm gay so I have no desire for ladies. He asked if I liked boys. I said I have a Long Term Boyfriend for 10 years and if he calls that liking boys then yes, I guess I do. 8. Now that the evil king is dead, who will be next? Who will take over the throne? Who is your favorite character on this show? For me, it is without a doubt the young Stark girl. She is growing into a very ballsy young lady and the first season while we saw she was a tomboy, the scene where she played with her tormentor and then stuck a sword in this throat every so smoothly, was amazing!
  9. I would feel him up but much prefer to feel up Usher. Yummy. I would have gone for the crotch. Who do you think would have won that one?
  10. I have found the board to be such a wide variety of people that often agree with me and often disagree with me. It helps me in many ways to evaluate my own opinions on a wide variety of subjects. I also enjoy the fact that I can talk about sex and escorts so openly without judgement. That is truly unique and not something found on many boards. I also have met some amazing people off of this site and Hoo's old site. Friendships that have lasted over a decade in some cases. So, to me, it is truly worth it. As an admin, I have a vested interest in trying to keep the peace when fights break out and to try to take the middle ground. But, I have said so many times to posters over the years that they can't take any board so seriously that they get their feelings hurt. I see it all too often. Too often people in your own life won't tell you what they think for fear of hurting your feelings. On a private message board, people tend to call bullshit quicker than in person. While this board stays civil and a gentleman's forum, it is not for someone who can't hold their own in a conversation. We loose many this way. I can't tell you how many times I have been told, "either this poster goes or I go." It is not once or twice but multiple times each year. In each instance, I tell everyone that we don't ban people just because they are not liked or they have conflicts with others. Part of life is learning to get through those tuff times. I have always found you intelligent and funny and I hope you stay. But, don't stay for me. Stay because the site might benefit you in some way in the present or the future.
  11. The one for Holiday Inn Express in Sao Paulo was gone 2 days afterwards. You have to be quick with these things. I was going to book it for the entire month and went back and it was not being offered. One month for 150,000 points is the same as 3 nights in a high end hotel and well worth being a bit out of the way IMHO.
  12. The Marriott gym the last time I checked was near 40k per year. The Royal Cliff is close to that as well. Both offer specials if you live there. I was curious as Wow was so great and busy and should have made great money and I am surprised no other place has opened up.

  14. Now that California Wow has done out, has any other companies came in to take over that segment of the market? I saw in Bangkok that Fitness First has taken over a few Wow locations. Not sure if they have plans to expand or what. Anyone heard anything or know anything?
  15. A friend from NYC just got accepted into Mahidol University in Bangkok. He asked me about it and I didn't know anything to share with him. I did google it and it says it is one of the best if not the best in Thailand. However, for someone who wants to be in academia I am not sure how much a degree from a foreign university will help them with jobs in the USA. Perhaps I am wrong but most of the professors I know tend to frown on foreign degrees. Any info on this place?
  16. This truly surprises me. I thought the opposite would be true. I love my IPhone and I can't switch as I have so many thousands of dollars invested in the App Store, but I love the look of the Samsung.
  17. Beautiful!
  18. “The voter is less important than the man who provides money to the candidate,” he said. “It’s really wrong.” Justice Steven's show retired in 2012 said. And, he proposes a constitutional amendment to void Citizen's United. Who in their right mind can disagree with this? http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/22/us/politics/justice-stevenss-prescription-for-giant-step-in-wrong-direction.html?hp&_r=0

  21. I am glad the pool table went as hard as it was to often play on. LOL Did the boys move there as well? I met a really great one a few years back in this area. http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/topic/2340-like-a-virgin/?hl=virgin
  22. Thanks for pointing this out. Very sad. I had many fun nights in that area years ago. I liked the vibe and how relaxed things were. Plus, I love the pool table pick up games.
  23. A few years back in Alabama, a friend of mine got into a fight with his father in law. It was a fist fight. It was a battle of words. He told his father in law he was going to take away his son. He was at his in laws. He started to drive away. He was shot in the car as he was driving away. The father in law was acquitted as it was his land and told the boy to stay away (even though his son lived there). Don't think for one second that the laws apply to all the same in Alabama.
  24. Fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
  25. You have just got to love Pharrell!
