No boy has ever stayed with me without going to school. It is a requirement. I refuse to just let a guy live with me and do nothing. I work hard and I play hard. I feel those I am supporting should do the same. If not, they need to move on. The boy's father did get an education and finished his high school. He has been deciding which school to go to and it is not the school I would choose but that is up to him. As long as he is pursuing his education I won't dictate how he pursues it. The other guy living me for a long time also finished high school and is currently enrolled in college. Both of these guys have been sent to AUA language school for MANY terms and had tutors. I have no problem paying for an education for them or their girlfriends/wives/children. To me, there is no better investment. As to the 9 year old, I can put my foot down and the boyfriend will make his son go to the school I want. The boyfriend has easily let his mother borrow over 1 million baht over the past few years and with that comes a price. The price may be that the BF's decisions count more than anyone elses. IMHO that is the way it should be but it is hard to tell a Thai boy that. A few years back, I had another problem with the BF and we ended up splitting up for about 2 months. I cut him off completely and the 100,000 baht or so I left to him was gone almost overnight. When the mother found this out, she too kicked him out and said he needed to find a source of income. He realizes who she is and what she wants. He is a smart guy and should he set his foot down, it will happen. That said, I don't feel I should do this without having a consensus. I am working hard to building that up. First, I think I'll get him a tutor to help with his school. Yes, as the boy goes to school 60 miles from me, most likely that money will be wasted or drank up in whiskey. But, it shows I am willing to help. Next year, I have already spoken to the boyfriend about a private school. We can't just uproot him now as it is the middle of the school year. But, if I can get the BF on board with what I want, the rest of the family will follow. I agree with many of the things said in this thread and I appreciate the advice. One of the main reasons I post on this forum is that from time to time, I really do need some input from those that have been or are in a similar situation. When that happens, I find I get lots of "food for thought" and this case was no exception. Thanks to everyone that gave advice both on the board and in private. Education is very important in my life and it raised me out of poverty. I grew up very poor and not unlike many Thais with no hope of getting out of that life. Luckily, I was smart enough to make opportunities happen and put my life on the path where I could get a full scholarship in school and then a few graduate years. It saved my life. Perhaps it will not do the same for every guy that lives with me but I try my best to give them that opportunity as I know how valuable it was for me.

Bangkok is an amazing city and I love it at night. Thanks for your photo of the day!

haha OK. I was talking to Firecat yesterday as he saw my review and I told him I planned on eating at the Hilton every day. I said, "Hell, for 12.00 USD it is really cheap." He said it was more like 18.00 and not 12.00. I did the calculations and he was right. So, perhaps I won't eat there as often as I was planning. I guess I am just not good with numbers.

I wrote about having breakfast there yesterday and I enjoyed it. I wanted others who are considering the hotel to see a video of the fabulous top of the hotel roof top pool. I think it is lovely and have been there a few times to swim and enjoyed it. It is no where near as big as the Marriott's pool but it does have a nice view.

The boys and I spent the day today at the Sanctuary of Truth Temple in Pattaya. Is pretty amazing. The Sanctuary of Truth is a gigantic wooden construction which covers the area of more than two rais. The building was constructed according to ancient Thai ingenuity and every square inch of the building is covered with wooden carve sculpture.

You know he goes home to see his girlfriend one night every week. Would that not make it impossible to do EVERY night?

My apologies to everyone. I have just been informed via PM that my information is not factual. From the PM, Thailand has slipped to No. 3 for export. I did not fact check that information either as I would hate to state something that is not accurate so I'll let you all do your own checks. Thank you to my secret admirer for the information. I have asked the BF to spank me for being naughty and not providing good information.

I had to sync hundreds of these devices at my job in California last year. I know the problem you are having. I would happily walk you though all the steps to resolve this but if give up, so do I. As to the ICloud, etc. I love ICloud. Yes, I get frustrated that they keep switching things up but I have the ICloud and it backs up all my ITunes Purchases. Since my BF in Thailand and one in Brazil have IPads I have given them and are using my account, they can update all their applications even if I am not in their country. They just go onto wifi and update. It works perfectly for me and I love that if they want to download my music, games I buy them, movies, etc. that I have purchased, all they need to do in go to any wifi and update. It works great for what I need. I also love dropbox. I have 200G account and I use it for work and for fun. It is so easy to share with friends and family and to do work. I can even put files into the Public Folder and share a link with someone and they simply view it. There are Dropbox alternatives and I use Google and Microsoft as well but I use their free versions. Dropbox is free for 2G but I pay for 200 and I think it is 200 a year and totally worth it for me. A few months back, I bought a new computer. I simply signed into my ICloud account and all my data, preferences, apps, etc were brought over. I signed into dropbox and all my documents, etc were brought over. I signed into my Firefox account and all my bookmarks, etc were brought over. It was such an easy process and I use to dread buying a new computer as it took so long to set up and enjoy. No longer!

To me, it sounds like you have purchased something (even if for free) when you were in Thailand and thus you have 2 Itunes Libraries. This happens to friends of me. The best way to get rid of this is to do a complete wipe of your devices and sync them with your ITunes collection on your computer. When it asks if you want to restore from the "cloud" you say no and sync with only your computer. Once you have done this, I bet you have no more problems.

As I had a long day yesterday and my best friend left me in Pattaya all alone (with the 2 boyfriends), I jumped online as there was a hottie next door to me. We chatted and he came for a visit. His name was O and he asked for 1500 baht which I normally give but hate to be asked the high end. But, I wanted to sample his goods and I did. He was sexy and versatile and had a great body. (I only saw him as I knew Firecat would wander into Bangkok and find all these hotties he would send me photos and brag about)

The Hilton in Pattaya is in a fantastic location. It is right on top of Central Festival and if you are looking for a hotel that is right in the middle of all the action, this place is great and very easy to get anywhere in Pattaya. They serve a great breakfast on the 15th Floor. The room overlooks the ocean and I love sitting outside and watching the parasailing boats fly by time and time again. The breakfast is open to all and really does have everything that you can possibly want in a breakfast. It has custom order omelets, pancakes, French toast, tons of meats, breads, Thai Food, Japanese Food and several choices of curry and Indian style food. I was a bit surprised when I went as I counted 46 tables full of customers and 49 of them were filled with Asian customers. There were many from Japan and Singapore. There were very few white guys or families there. The cost for the full buffet including all you can eat and drink is 550 baht and that includes the VAT and Service Charge. IMHO, this is still a great deal and if you don’t mind spending a bit of money, it is a great breakfast. I give this place 4.7 out of 5. Highly recommended for the food and the view. In other words, GREAT Bacon and GREAT Eggs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99Kn0fNdg2g

We need to talk. I don't know why you are using 2 ITunes accounts. I use one and download TV and Movies, etc from everywhere in the world. I have a USA account and it is in English. I downloaded many movies this week from Thailand and it works perfectly. I use it for all my Apple devices. I have them all linked to the same account and I can go into ITunes and Purchase History and download anything I have purchased to any device. They have make this so easy to do for me. The App Store for ITunes does not have the vast number of books that Amazon.com offers. At least when I have checked before they didn't. And, I don't think those books transfer over to other devices that are not based on Apple. The Kindle allows for this transfer very easily. FWIW

I have an Amazon.com account and it is linked to my CC and thus I have never had a problem ordering books from Amazon. In fact, I ordered over 10 of them this week and they were delivered instantly. To my knowledge, I get all the options that everyone else does. I use my IPad Kindle Application to view most of them. I love the way the words appear bright on that. I have a Kindle DX as well and I use this when traveling as it seems to last for weeks with no need to charge. Do others have issues downloading Amazon ibooks in Thailand?

The food is great tasting, consistently good and very reasonable. It is an open air restaurant and frequented by a great many locals. It is the place to go when you know you will get good food and NOT get ripped off. It is my favorite place to eat in Thailand and I go there every day but I have 2 guys that live with me and they love it as well so it just makes life so easy for me.

Firecat, thank you so much for the great report. I always love reading about your experiences as I know you are great to the guys you meet and you have good taste when traveling. I also find that Bangkok is much better for me for a long term stay. I love the city and would live there instantly if not for the traffic. I just detest the traffic in Bangkok but the city is by far the easiest for me to live in. I decided to stay in Pattaya for a long term this trip as I thought my 2 long term boyfriends would like to be closer to their friends in Pattaya. We have been here one month and they have seen them only one time. Had I known this a month ago, I would have been staying in Bangkok again. But, I am happy to spend more time in Pattaya as I love the city as well and have good friends here. That said, Pattaya does not offer the amenities that Bangkok does. There is just no comparison IMHO. As for boys, I always get exactly what I want in Bangkok. I love Hero and would be very happy just going there every day. I had tried to get a room on that Soi this year at the Fraser Suites and they wanted 160,000 baht per month and would not negotiate. To me, that was absurd but I guess the close proximity to the hospital makes this place a favorite among Arabs and thus they don't need to negotiate. Had I been given a good rate, (I tried in person and via email) I would have stayed there and just visited Hero on a daily basis. Pattaya is so hard to find good massage. It is easy for me to find guys here but not ones that give great massages. I agree Siam Paragon is top notch. I stayed in the area you were in for a week about a month ago and I loved the area and thought it very convenient. So much so, I will look for a small place there when I go back to Bangkok as I'll love to have a small place there for weekends and such. As always Firecat, enjoy your days in Bangkok and keep us up to date with your trip!

Every time I visit Thailand, I use the same sim card and I use the 12Call. If I don't put a "plan" in place on the phone, it sucks up the minutes. However, every company offers many options. For example you can get 199 baht plan that is unlimited from 5AM morning to 5PM evening with 12Call customers. As most that I know use this service, it is pretty good. You can then have your BF or others give you free days and nights. I have gotten about 50 free days of calling in the last month. I can't explain how it works other then you call the call center and order a special. You then get options. I have the BF do this and it always saves me money in the long run. When I get ready to leave LOS, I make sure the plan is cancelled and place 500 baht on the phone and I then get about 1 year extended service. That way I never loose my Thai phone number and since I have too many guys that know my number, I like to make sure it is the same for each trip. Anyone else use these offers? Have other advice to make this cheaper/better?

Thailand is the world's largest exporter of rice. A good deal of the economy is based on this. When you travel around the country, you will see rice farms stretching for miles and miles. It is often very beautiful and when the workers are out in the farms, it can be quite fascinating to watch. I can't think of many more back breaking type of jobs than bending over the rice all day in the hot sun. This photo is of a rice farm near my boyfriends family home. I love the bright green.

I wanted some tech stuff for my computer and I could not find it in Thailand. So, last Thursday night I ordered it from Amazon. The cost for one item was 28.00 USD. The shipping was 35.00 USD and the tax for Thailand was 30.00 USD. Yes, it was 3 times the price as I could get in USA. But, I could not find it in Thailand so I sucked it up. Today, Monday AM, it was delivered. The BF was shocked that it came so fast. That was 2 day shipping. LOVE IT! So, I ordered more today. And, I love being able to order my Kindle Books and read on the IPad. Amazon rocks even in Thailand!

Of course caution needs to be applied. Who on earth is going to believe anyone from the Internet unless they have more information? OK, he is not FH. When FH posts, I tend to rely on him as more of a reporter of facts and not gossip. But, FH is not Joan Rivers. He is more along the lines of Anderson Cooper. Would you really watch those 2 on TV and expect the same level of information? It is easy to make a post but it is also easy to check up on a post someone has made. One can easily do a search on this board for heygay and see all his posts AND all the posts from others about him. If they wish to them make a judgement call as to his veracity, they can do that. But, he is no Walter Cronkite or Carl Bernstein. It is not rocket science he is talking about. It is his opinions he is discussing. Now, yes, I was one of the fools that ALMOST listened to him about Ocean 1. And, if I had relied on his voice only, I would be out a few million baht. But, he was not the only one that was talking about Ocean 1 and I had one other very well known realtor that was also singing its praises. However, before I made that kind of investment, I did some research and I also learned about the guys doing the project. I decided it was not a good investment for me. Thank goodness! I decided the same thing about the View Talay right on the beach. I regret not buying there one of the corner units but I was not sure with all the legal actions what the outcome would have been. I really just do not understand why others get so upset about his posts. I honestly do not. We have an ignore feature on this board and it would seem easy to just place him on ignore. People try so hard to prove him wrong on everything he says, they often get lost in the few things he posts of value. He is a smart man and a very kind man. I like him. I hate reading the grammar on his posts but I forgive it a bit more than others as I often find good content in it that is worth my annoyance.
