Thank you so much for all the input on the website. The only way we can make it better is if we have feedback. We have been in discussions with a programmer about the auto login. They want to study this and try to find a solution. I hope that others post about events in all cities. We welcome those posts and I hope everyone does that. If it will be helpful to others, I can post the events I hear about on the boards. I get newsletters and updates from venues throughout Thailand and will do this more often if that is what the membership wishes to see implemented. I apologize for the contest changing. It was not something we wanted to do but we got a great deal of flack from long term posters that it was destroying the website. We made a decision and tried to make the best one possible. I am sorry that some were offended by the decision and it was not our intention to alienate anyone. The Flirt advertisements bring in revenue for the site. For over one year we had ads for businesses in Thailand but they were not paid ads. They were put up as a courtesy and the businesses we approached said they would not pay for something they can get free on any other site. So, we brought back the Flirt ads. I know they do not have a great deal of Asian guys on them but many of the clients from Asia like them. The site is popular for visits and we have a constant flow of new member profiles. That is one of the main reasons we are going to spend more money to make the profile section better. We don’t feel we are in competition with any of those sites as we are a member dating site and not just a forum. We remain popular in that arena. We are lacking in the forums and not sure what to do in order to fix this. We have great moderators and great posters. We also have far too many lurkers who read and never post. For search engine placement and clicks, we are at the top of all the keywords we have been working on. I bring this up only to show we are trying to get new members and new posters. haha. I just talked to the BF and he is ready to buy a 400cc motorbike. I told him that was too much power for him but he said if he got it, he promised not to modify it. I told him to go ahead and get it. I have seen Le Reve and I enjoyed it. I also saw O and that was one of my favorites. My hotel manager came to welcome me to Vegas and gave me front row tickets to Phantom. I have seen it about 20 times in NYC, London and other place but the theater they built here is fantastic. They have really done a fabulous job. Vegas just keeps growing and having fantastic shows. I do miss the Liberace museum but am plannning on seeing Zumanity again as I have friends from NYC in the cast and they got me seats. But, they only gave me one seat as they have set me up on a blind date. I just hope it is not with one of my ex's from NY. LOL

You make me homesick! I so would love to be sitting in one of their chairs in Pattaya watching the time fly by! I am glad it is busy and I hope that the boys are getting offed a great deal as they had a hard low season. I am currently in Vegas right now and I am having a blast with all the hot white boys. But, I miss my Thai guys! I picked up a guy from Hawaii tonight that works in my hotel. I wonder if I am a rice queen? Still, I'd trade Vegas in for Pattaya any day of the week. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I like massage and no place that does massage has done well in Sunee. Maybe this place wil be different. Why do you think so many in this area fail? Do people really go there for massage? LOL Wonderful! Can I use that?

First, I want to thank everyone for participating in the forums. They have a great deal of good information in them and I hope they continue to flourish. We needed to upgrade the forums due to security vulnerabilities. When we upgrade the forums, it is easy to do except for one key issue and that is log in. We use our own login system as opposed to the one for the forum board. The reason for this is that the profiles on the main part of the site and the board is integrated. They need to be in order for the site to function properly. I tried to upgrade the boards myself and I messed things up a bit. I then got in touch with the people who developed the board and asked for assistance. Between them and a programmer, we were able to solve the problems that we saw with the board. However, if others are still having issues with this, I guess not all is solved. I did ask Invision about the white screen and they suggested that if you get a white screen that you completely clear your browser’s cache. Another way to determine if it is your cache is to try another browser and see if the same problem exists. If so, just let us know and we will try to work on things ASAP. Thank you all for bearing with us during this change. As for the City Guides, they were working properly a few days ago. We just installed a new way to access the info and apparently all information now goes to Bangkok. We are working to fix this as well. Thank you for your patience. We have hired programmers to redesign the entire front end of the website and hope to have a revamped site in the coming months.

I already sent Scooby an e-mail to let him know of the issues with the forums and the issues daddydawg brought up about the cityguides. I have nothing to argue with you about. I came to the response to say why boards change software. I have as much right to defend this board or any board as you do. I was not condescending at all. Perhaps, you are just not use to anyone saying what they want with regards to one of your posts? The comments you make are not unquestionable. I have as much right to respond as you do to reply. You gave your unsolicited advise about how if it is not broken, don't fix it. I find that absurd when it comes to software. I stated that. You didn't like it and got upset. That is your deal, not mine. My first response on this thread was simply to say that I couldn’t see the issues. I still can't. I was only trying to help find the solution to the problems you were experiencing. Lighten up! Your response and nasty post really does baffle me!

What I said was not to be taken personally and I should have known better than to put my two cents worth into this. My comments about problems on your board were related to spammers figuring out board software and how to get around it. They do this with every single update and good board software normally takes this into effect and makes it harder for them. For example, with Invision's spam software, once a board reports a spammers IP, it goes to a spam based collection system and then others do the same, that IP and that e-mail is banned across all the boards unless an admin approves it. I am sorry you got upset with my response, It was not meant toward you. It was meant to acknowledge the issues that all boards have. Well, sorry, all boards but yours. Yours is perfect and never any issues and no spammers. My apologies for thinking otherwise. I could not agree more. I was trying to tell you that I thought the issue was with the url you have saved. If that is not the case, can you show me a screen capture of what happens when you try to access the board? Quick Time has this free feature built into the software and it lets you records a quick screen capture. I am only trying to find out the issue as I tested this on all my computers and it works perfectly when I log in. I am a firm believer in people that think "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" when it applies to Internet software don't really understand software. I am not trying to be rude at all but you have had problems with your own board and spammers on many occassions. With each forum version, they create ways to alleviate these issues and they also repair security vunerabilities. I am a firm believer in keeping things updated and working properly. I know people get upset with any changes but you must realize that browsers and operating systems are changing constantly. When you don't keep up with them, you are doing a disservice to your viewers. IMHO I have had zero problems accessing this board since the changes were made. If you are, I suggest that you change your "bookmark" url. The best way to enter any site is through the homepage. This would be http://gaythailand.com You can save you name at the top to fill in automatically. You then only have to click one button to log in. You then click the forums. It doesn't sound like rocket science to me. However, you have have booked http://gaythailand.com/forums/(with any more words) you need to change this. If you only want the forums and not the home page, go to http://gaythailand.com/forums/ I will never understand why people don't want to keep up to date with their software on forums or browsers. It is the smart thing to do. IMHO

I am glad you like the new look. There was nothing broken about the old software but we have to keep updated on the forum software as there are often security vulnerabilities in older versions. This is the exact same system but was only an upgrade. IPS stands for Invision Power Services I think. That is the board software. I am sorry this was down for a bit but I was trying to upgrade the software myself and I was having some issues. I then asked for help from the software company and other friends to get all the things in place. I hope all the kinks have been worked out but if anyone sees any issues, please let us know. We have hired a team to redesign the entire site and will be rolling out new features on the front end in the coming months. Thank you for your support of Gay Thailand community!

I am never one to fully commit to anything until I get there but I hope to be able to go to this week. My plans are: Rio for 10 days before Porto Alegre for 5 days Sao Paulo for 9 days I used points for all my stays and the only thing I'll pay for is airfare. However, I am staying at Holiday Inn in Porto and would love to know if the Internet there is OK high speed. If I get to go, and that is a big IF, I am very excited!

Like Lucky, I love politics and I don't often get involved in the debates. But, I have never seen the issue with having the discussions in this forum. From the onset of this site, Political discussions were not allowed. Then, we allowed them into a separate forum and that seem to be a good compromise. I'll try to post more in that forum as well.

I am impressed with the stamina of both of you! I hope it continues. That said,I have done these contests before and the general trend is high posting at the onset and then people get into a routine and it slows a bit. As I love all the posts, I hope that it never slows. But, that is normally what happens.
