You are most likely too young to remember my teenage tv shows. But, Hee Haw's: "We don't go around repeating gossip. So, you had better sit tight and listen close the first time." I do think we all listen when gossip is shared. I know of few who don't. I have tried over the years to distance myself from those that the majority of their conversation is about others. I much prefer a nice political debate to hearing about the misfortunes of others. I also think the mods on this site are doing a great job. It shows great respect for posters and for free communication that they have allowed this debate. I know of other mods who would have deleted the initial post only based on the poster's name. I am glad we have moved beyond that. I do hope that the thread dies a slow death and this will be my last post here in this thread. But, in the mean time, kudos to the mods for doing such a good job and having patience to allow all to express their view.

In Pattaya? Surly you jest. Perhaps that works in Chiang Mai. It doesn't in Pattaya.

I am not going to diminish the seriousness of posting personal information if you are not going to diminish the seriousness of verbal gossip.

IMHO, the owner needs to update to the latest version of the forum software. Why? They fix vulnerability issues with each version. If I remember correctly, and it has been a long while since reading that board, they used a very old version and never updated. A VERY bad idea and makes it easy to hack.

I wonder that as well. Agree. I just take it a step further than you and say that the gossip that goes around in those little groups should also be considered a violation of privacy. That is where you and I disagree. You seem to be OK with the gossip as long as it is not posted. I am not OK with it being posted and I am not OK with it going on face to face. And, HeyGay's post was only sharing information and experience in a spirit of friendly good fellowship as well. Come one, you honestly see a difference? Really? Truly? I like the guys in the group at the Corner Bar. I have sat on many occasions and had wonderful chats and conversations. When the conversation moves to the gossip, I just get up and excuse myself and say that I am on my way to Nice Boys or some other bar. However, don't kid yourself and think that the "friendly chat" when it turns to gossip doesn't get spread and then posted on the message boards. I have seen this on MANY occasions. As I have been a witness first hand to this, my proof is irrefutable. LOL Thaiworthy, I agree with you 100 percent. The sad part is many thrive on others misfortunes. Look at the gossip rags and how well they sell. People seem to love to see those who are elevated in any way fall. Your last comment "when in doubt, don't say anything at all" is the best advice given for anyone. My mother use to say this to me. I think it holds value today as much as my childhood. Having grown up in a small town in the deep South, I know the harmful effects of gossip and I know some guys in Pattaya are worst than the church ladies in my home town. I have seen the destruction that it can cause and I think harmful.

I agree with you. I think it sticks. I also think that group gossip stinks as well. Gossip is gossip and it is just as harmful for one to tell tons of people who then share with others and who knows what else and one that posts on a forum. IMHO, both stink. But, some can't smell the shit if they are too close.

Hold on here buddy. I think there are more gossip whores around the Plaza that all hear and repeat over and over the same stories. I heard there is even one group at VIP tables that share the information willingly. I wonder if he heard the story from them?

He was expressing what the BF told him about Mike. That is not gossip now is it? That is almost as reliable as the standards from Pattaya Mail.

I remember stories of this man from when I was young and in Alabama. I also spent a few summers in the Boston area and the name is infamous. He was able to turn his FBI handlers into informants that allowed him to kill his enemies. I have read most of the books on this list as I do enjoy a good thriller. I will admit that growing up I was in love with Stephen King. I would read every book he wrote and devour it before I fell asleep. You lost me at hello. I read and reread Bob's first post. Not once did I see anything unacceptable. What words offended you? hack job? gossip?

Here you can post your favorites or obscure videos that you like from YouTube. Here is mine to start.

What is typical in Sunee is you buy a shop and pay "good will" to the owner of the lease. You then get a 3 year lease with Miss Sunee. The "upfront" money is the right to have that business. So, in other words, if you luck into a shop with no upfront money, you may ask 1 million baht down the road to turn your lease over to someone else. I enjoy Sunee and I don't think it will close in 18 months. But, I don't think it will stand the test of time with the Arabs surrounding it and the lack of tourists visiting.

Do you honestly think they will give their views? Come on, if true, they will deny it as they won't be able to sell. If not true, they will still deny it. IMHO, there is no other answer they can give that would benefit them.

Totally agree! I was almost suckered into this condo with big promised. I am glad I had the common sense not to trust those I met who promised me I could trust them. I'd be out hundreds of thousands of dollars and I'd never live next to Elton. IMHO, this thread has gone way off topic. The topic was bullshit gossip and I suggest the mods end it before it gets worst.

We had a few recent questions about this on member's profiles. I thought I'd bring it up to the top again so others can comment.

I have been working out every day for a bit trying to get in shape for an event this fall. I work at the same gym and usually early morning. There is one guy that is obviously gay (as I am) and we flirt with out eyes every day. This has been going on for 6 weeks. Today, I was in the jacuzzi and he came in and we chatted. The gym is REALLY dead in the AM's and I am usually in the jacuzzi by myself. He asked about my boyfriend as he sees him with me from time to time. We chatted a long time and then went to the steam room. One thing led to another and we ended up having sex. It was great and it was a much needed release but this gym is kind of high end and I'd be thrown out of the place if they found us. Passion hits when passion hits and we did the dirty. I didn't think much about the door opening until..... Well, it didn't. We were able to have fun and no one disturbed us but it was risky. If you were in the same position, would you get down to business with a cute young guy in the sauna of your gym?

I have many but I guess this is the one that brings a tear to my eye every time.
