Ah, another interesting tidbit of gay Thailand history. On my first trip to Thailand, it was Firecat who introduced me to GayButton's board. It was an invaluable resource to aid in my first trip to LOS. GayButton was also a moderator on this board for a while many years back and a friend when I was living in Pattaya. That would not have happened if not for Firecat. I would not have met Firecat if not for Hooboy as it was a post on Hoo's board and a trip to Montreal that helped Firecat and I connect. Many years back, I think around 2000, I met this guy named Hooboy at my NYC apartment. He ran the Male4malescorts website. He came to my place for a party. I had around 20 plus sexy models from NYC around and he was fascinated at the guys. We became instant friends. I had started building code to make a competing site (the maleescortreview.com) but meeting Hooboy and becoming friends, caused me to stop building the site and become friends. After several years, I changed the name to Boytoy.com It was a name that I thought would be a better fit and easy to remember while the new owner, Firecat ran the GayThailand site. Firecat and I were friends about as long as Hooboy. We met in Montreal when I was on a trip there. I traveled to Brazil, Thailand and other places with him. He was a good man who was good to me. He ran the site with his BF for years but when they broke up, he needed more help with it and eventually lost interest. Hooboy and I chatted a lot about the sites and technology. Firecat and I chatted a lot about bars and clubs. Firecat also know Stef from before I even knew him. Yes, it is a small world. MaleEscortReview became Boytoy and that is now GayGuides. GayThailand was once ran by me and then others and now it is GayGuides. Two board merged together who had a long history and similar interests. That is the long, dry tale of two boards.

Welcome to Gay Guides. We welcome all of our boytoy members to Gay Guides. It took us a while for the merge to happen but we were finally able to do it. It was a massive tasks as there are over 300,000 posts and over 60,000 images and videos that needed to be moved. The structure is still a work in progress.

Hooboy is the name of a friend of mine who started male escort reviews online. He died many years ago in Thailand at the Four Seasons. I traveled with him to several continents. After he died, I started boytoy and named the forum for him. Yes, they will all come over.

Issues were resolved and we are proceeding with the merge. We hope it is complete in the next week. One thing to note is that if you have an email account that is the same on both sites, they will merge and the dominate screen name on GayGuides will be the name. That can be changed by admin if needed. All posts, topics, member counts, ect. moved over well in our test run.

We were finally able to successfully test our merge of the two forums. It took a long time as the merge converter from Invision had some flaws and still does. But, we worked through it. Based on this, we found that the merge will merge email accounts and often ignore Usernames. This can be easily changed after the merge. For me, I have been using the name TotallyOz on the other site since 2006. My current screen name (Michael) will change over to that name when the merge happens. The major change for the other site is that XXX images are not allowed. All those images are being removed or move to participating members only areas. This will take time but it is a work in progress. The forums and all posts converted over easily. There will be a bit of a newer structure and if you notice on the board today, a few separate forums areas now exist. We found it easier to complete the merge if these were broken down. Other than that, we are working to ensure this happens smoothly and efficiently. Thank you for your patience as this was announced a while back and no movement since.
