  1. CNN) -- A federal court in Riverside, California, ruled Thursday that the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy -- which bars gay men and lesbians from serving openly -- is unconstitutional. "Plaintiff has demonstrated it is entitled to the relief sought on behalf of its members, a judicial declaration that the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Act violates the Fifth and First Amendments, and a permanent injunction barring its enforcement," concluded U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips, a 1999 Clinton appointee. The ruling came in a case filed by the group Log Cabin Republicans against the government and Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates. The next step is expected to be for the government to ask for a temporary injunction to prevent the ruling from going into immediate effect, pending further appeals. The government at some point in the next few weeks or months would then file a petition with the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, which is based in San Francisco, for a hearing. If the government were to lose, its next step would be to the Supreme Court. But since the Pentagon and White House have signaled their intention to end DADT, with congressional approval, Thursday's ruling may be viewed in a different light. http://us.cnn.com/2010/US/09/09/dont.ask.dont.tell/index.html?hpt=T2
  2. Geeze. It was suppose to read: an evening out "with TY or Oz." Neither of which should be your fantasy.
  3. Rackspace is their hosting company. They suspended the account. They have a clause which prohibits hate speech and basically did a fuck you to the church there.
  4. I have a friend going to Brazil in February. He is looking to conserve money and not spend a shit load. What is the normal cost that most will spend for all their expenses in Rio? Hotel Food Boys Fun Etc Please include anything I have left out. He has never been there before and also wants to do some sightseeing. What are the places he must see and about how much for that? Thanks!
  5. LOL I would love some Prime Rib in Thailand. Hard thing to find is good meat (steak that is). That is about the only thing Prime I am interested in.
  6. Excellent. Thanks. I try to hold my age. I do have a thing for gamblers BTW.
  7. Would you get upset if I said, Amen!
  8. Glad it works! No, you can't block them unless you hit the X. But, I had them removed all of the tabs from the site (even the X). But, I can see in Firefox but can't in Safari or IE. Then again, I have bad eyesight!
  9. I told the programmers to remove these from the site completely today. I still see them. Does anyone else see them?
  10. I completely agree. There is so much here going on that one person. I am sure his money backing has helped to create the mess. But, at least there are those who realize that they are not destined to be poor and uneducated. IMHO the best way out of this is to educate the entire country. But, those in power do not want an intelligent electorate.
  11. I find the older I get the more the details become irrelevant to me. (Or, I just like to reinvent history the way it was meant to be).
  12. He is a charlatan. The new one is no better. The Generals are no better. In fact, there is no one that is ruling the country that has clean hands. That being said, Thaskin had one thing going for him, he got the poor of the country to realize they were getting screwed. Sure, he had his hands in the till. But, until then the poor were under the impression that being poor was the way it had to be. No hope and no chance. Thai politics are horrible. It is a deeply divided country. The current Prime Minister was supposed to call for new elections. Now, he is saying, the country is too fragile to vote. Why? He knows he will be ousted. So, the red shirts protest. When they get back in office (and they will), then the yellow shirts will protest. A never ending cycle. UNLESS, they have a miracle politician that can bridge the 2 divides. It is not anyone I know in power.
  13. We started an ad on Facebook and have been getting many new members to the site. How to convert those members to posters in the forum is a much harder area to conquer but we will continue to try to bring "new blood" into the site and the forum. We thank you for all the suggestions you are giving. It is appreciated and we welcome them and hope that you keep communicating ways to improve the site and the forum.
  14. Yes, temporary. They can only work 10 hours a day. They are working on this. The solution for the short term, log in from the home page of the site. I didn't notice this but I'll have them check. Throwing axes. It is better to have one site with logins that are the same. If not, we would have to have 2 sites and the names on both would be different. Maybe easier to manage, but not a good idea and thus why we are willing to spend the money to get it right. And, why we asked for a bit of patience and we will work on it. We always try our best to fix items that are brought to our attention. Thus, I appreciate you bringing this up. I log in from the front page each day. I keep my browser open. I never have log in issues. So, when others do, they need to tell me exactly what they are doing so I can tell the programmers to work on it. Again, I apologize for the frustration this is causing you. It is causing me more. And, the fucking tabs are back again even after I told the programmers if I saw them on the forum, I'll take 200 off their salary.
  15. Investigations into the dealings of several Thai websites have uncovered a suspected child prostitution ring operating in Thailand recently. Police discovered the illegal operations following the June arrest of an internet gaming business owner in Pattaya. Thailand, the 6th of September 2010 [PDN]: Following the arrest of Mr. Traiphop Bunphasong, implicated in a Pattaya child prostitution racket, Children and Women Protection Center Police successfully uncovered a larger 'parent' operation, which had been running in Thailand for the last 10-years. Mr. Bunphasong's arrest was directly related to the later arrest of famed Russian musician Mikhail Pletnev. Initially, police investigating the case of Mr. Bunphasong linked the offender with several homosexual websites (poochai69.com and dekchai.com). The websites were found to be openly selling images, videos and DVD's of explicit gay pornography including material believed to involve underage boys. Progressing the case to a national level, Major General Rungsap Sunsap (Children & Women Protection Center Region 2 Deputy Commissioner) and Major General Kittiphong Ngaomuk (Police Region 2 Commissioner) begun investigations into the matters, finding that sites were operated by a Mr. Kanphon Chinchayaphorn [48] (AKA, Lung Mo, Lung Max (uncle Max)). Mr. Chinchayaphorn is known to be a prominent figure in Thai gay social scene and was subsequently linked to at least seven other illegal pornographic websites (gaymorply.com, unzenzer.com, vdostation.com, gooogay.com, seeguy.com, thaiboyx.com, and loongmax.com). 16. It should be set to 1 hour. I'll make sure this is correct.
  17. From the programmers: We have common top file so all pages shows login link. Actually when we upgraded the forum much of the customized code was removed from forum files. And there are lot of files we have made changes for customization. We had missed to add this code so you were getting login issues. Now it will work fine. I have made it proper.
  18. Polls are back to working. Sorry it took a few days.
  19. We can do this for you. Are you suggesting sub-forums of the Gay Asia forum? If so, I have added the forums to that area. Check it out. We can also copy any relevant threads to the correct forum to make it easy to find the information.
  20. When the site is organized, we are considering doing a weekly Gay Thailand Newsletter. We would do this to promote events throughout Thailand. It would be similar to the old Pattaya Gay Report. Is there a need for this to be done? Is it overkill? Are we stepping on anyone's toes? We would do it though an organized e-mail provider like Constant Contact and it would be opt in for only those interested. We would not be sending spam mail to every gay person in Thailand. We would appreciate any thoughts and comments you may have. Hugs,
