  1. I was in Tawan last week and it was busy during show times. Plenty to choose from. Had a good off. Dreamboys now 480 bt for drink. Leave it for the mugs. Other go go bars 400 bt...bit too steep for me. Beer bars 120, but all done and dusted in Soi Twilight now by 1.30am. Whole street in darkness. Nothing like it used to be, don't believe the threads that tell you it's all back to normal there.
  2. P.t taxis. No problem. 1000 bt including tolls. P.t.taxis@hotmail.com 0863921240 or 0854 466035
  3. Well I beg to differ, Soi Twilight is pitch dark from 1 am whereas it was usually full swing in the drinking bars until at least 2 am and sometimes longer. Things there are certainly nothing like "back to normal".
  4. Anyone know what will be happening?
  5. Fortunately my Kasikorn Bank is also the one at Tukcom, so I will go there when I arrive and present the new passport. I might as well cart the old one around too even though I have enough shite to think about! TiT! I thought it best to update them just in case they need to see the passport for anything...
  6. Anyone renewed their passport recently? What do I do to inform Kasikorn Bank, just show them the new one...with the new number?
  7. "In BKK the main meaning of that change was that everything dies at midnight. All the boy bars held only one show each night. DJ station was open till midnight and G.O.D closed." Is that still the case, everything, all bars closed at midnight? Will it be the case in early December when I arrive, do you know? I had planned 4 days in BKK before going to Pattaya, but may go direct if it is all finishing at midnight
  8. Thanks Colmx and others. The dark Sois don't put me off but they may my "offs"! I'm therefore inclined to carry on with Yensabai, and all its problems!
  9. Thank you, very helpful
  10. Means until they see income dropping... then business as normal
  11. I'm thinking of staying at Novana Residence just off Third Road, for a change of scenery! It's about 200 metres from the Third Road junction with Pattaya South Road in the direction of Jomtien Anyone tried it?
  12. I get the feeling that those responding above are (or were) mostly long term residents of Thailand. No wonder they are perhaps jaded with the scene and it wouldn't bother them if it disappeared. I have been visiting for 12 years, (for about 4 months per year) and feel the complete opposite. As has been written many times in the past there is very little to do during the day in Pattaya and to a lesser extent in BKK too. We visitors therefore become somewhat nocturnal. So, if the scene vanished there would actually be little or nothing for us to VISIT Thailand for. I think its a different matter for those who live, or have lived, there.
  13. Scams ... someone told me no one gets scammed in Thailand ...ah just a moment!
  14. Did it re-open, as promised, at the end of September?
  15. The problem I find is the multitude of different Thai accents, particularly in Pattaya where the population originates from all over Thailand. I went to a Thai Language school for some time and picked up quite a few words. My Thai (such as it is) is probably spoken with a Pattaya accent and therefore most people don't understand it!
  16. Hope you're right about them re-opening...those words are so often associated with permanent closure in Thailand
  17. And realistic and fair price it is too... 5000 Baht (or £108 if your English) or ($143 if you are American) for touring gogo bars, drinking, tipping and then fucking all night...its hardly burning money is it? What planet are you on?
  18. WTF....? You are talking about Toyboys aren't you? The place in Boyztown? In Pattaya? The first bar on the left as you enter the Soi? You wanna see horrendous prices?....Ever tired Dreamboys in BKK?
  19. And therein lies a problem...which most here appear to have missed. If you buy a boy (or a gang of boys) drinks from the bar then they get a cut for every drink bought. However, when you buy a bottle they get nothing from the bar. Added to which the above statement indicates that the poster will not be giving the guys a tip. So the boys end up without a cut from the bar, or a tip from the customer. Nothing. I know a number of boys who do not like customers buying a bottle for these very reasons. Of course they will not show it outwardly. if you do decide to buy a bottle I believe it is only right to tip them after sharing it.
  20. Yes but that didn't last . Still closed. Now. if A Bomb move across then that might be awesome!!! Theres me dreaming !

    What size tip?

That is standard procedure with hair. You either loose it or it turns grey. End of... No alternative....!
  22. Now that is so true...Ive flown Qatar Airways many times and you wouldn't believe the amount of booze that is available free both in business and economy. And from a "dry" country. Puts our own British Airways and KLM to shame! P.S. Most things put BA to shame.
  23. Alas now permanently closed.
