Yogyakarta is a big university town. Unfortunately I was only there for a couple of days. But I am guessing all of those horny boys would need a discrete outlet

it's in Chiang Mai, so I think this news might be confusing to those who don't know that since this thread is about a place in BKK.

Unless Putin ends his war I don't think there's much way to incentivize Russian arrivals. It probably doesn't help Thailand that it's primarily a leisure destination so the airlines have less incentive to add flights since the conventional wisdom is they can't charge as much for tickets

Tell me your penis size and I'll tell you what country your from

I think we need a cross section of gays and straights to make it accurate. And at least a couple of thousand in every country. We probably would require more than one measurer -
Will it be much better to visit in December vs August?
fedssocr replied to vortexed's topic in Gay Thailand
given all of the current spikes it seems clear that most governments will not be increasing the hurdles unless huge numbers of people start dying again. South Korea just tightened entry requirements a bit, but it just means getting a PCR test on the day of arrival instead of within 3 days. Not sure how much difference that is going to make. I wouldn't count on too much easing in Japan or Taiwan any time soon. I would likely wait until December for (hopefully) better weather and more things up and running. But as we can see from the reports here there seems to be plenty going on to keep on busy these days. So if you have the time and the means you might have less competition going sooner -
Qatar Airways to fly unwanted A380s after A350 grounding
fedssocr replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
And with the crew shortages and other issues it makes sense to have them in the air instead of sitting in a desert somewhere. I'm also a big fan. It also seems so quiet inside and you really feel like you're floating. -
Bangkok Trip Report 2022: The wait is over. What was I waiting for?
fedssocr replied to numazu's topic in Gay Thailand
I usually check in online and there's always a question about "do you have any of these items in your checked luggage?" and it lists a whole bunch of things including Li-ion batteries. They can be a fire risk. I guess the theory is that if they start smoking in the cabin the crew can deal with it, but if they catch fire in the cargo hold everything burns. -
We need Christian and his highly detailed cost itemizations. For the "Monger Index" do you really hire a short time and long time guy every day? I'd imagine that skews the math fairly substantially.
-
can't you avoid a lot of those gogo bar costs by using alternate means of meeting guys to entertain you? While I haven't been there, I'd imagine that the Philippines would be fairly inexpensive.

I haven't flown SQ premium economy but the airline is generally very good to excellent. From NY I think they fly A350-900ULR that is all business and premium economy and there's also the A380 service that goes via FRA. On the A350s there are 3 rows at the back of the plane where there is only 1 seat at the window so you don't have anyone sitting next to you.

I'm sure that this is a difficult problem to solve given Bangkok's low-lying nature. After 2011 there was much talk about upgrading the drainage system. I don't know if that happened. There may also be issues of maintenance. And of course the constant building of new skyscrapers just adds to the complexities. Given climate change and rising sea levels Bangkok is going to be in difficult straits. Rather than planning for the future they just keep doing the same things over again. A new inland capital is probably going to be necessary. Think of all the potential for corruption that they're just passing up!

has anyone visited the new park on the canal by the Chong Nonsi BTS yet?

Govt warns Bangkok governor to curb activities to prevent Covid spread
fedssocr replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
unfortunately the latest variants appear to be able to evade antibodies from those who were previously infected or who have been vaccinated. From the reports I've seen BA.5 produces an illness that includes the worst sore throat people say they've ever had and more lung/respiratory effects than the other recent variants. Otherwise healthy people appear to recover in a couple of weeks with the most acute symptoms lasting 4 or 5 days. Personally I think exercising a lot of caution to cut down the spread as much as possible seems sensible. -
maybe it's too cold for them to wear less clothing

I always enjoy the b-boys. I could never figure out if they were off-able though. Those boys at New Twilight look cute. -
It's nice to know the Rabbit cards can be reactivated. I guess MRT can now accept wireless credit cards for payment which seems easy enough. Is there any sort of unified payment card yet? I thought the Spider Card was supposed to do that but don't know if it ever materialized.

May not take that long given the BA.5 variant currently driving the numbers up everywhere

Has anyone watched Rainbow Lagoon yet? I haven't made the time but will one of these days

There's such a huge glut of hotels that it's going to be difficult for all of them to make it.

So, they're still going to try the "high quality over high quantity" tourism thing.

Min's tidbits about my Thailand and Vietnam experiences
fedssocr replied to Min's topic in Gay Thailand
I visited NB one time. It's so small inside. I was the only customer. So there was no need to feel self-conscious. I think there were three boys working. It was an interesting experience but I didn't find any of the guys especially attractive so I didn't go back. -
I suspect that the guides who are not listed as drivers would know drivers if necessary if they are official guides. I did a trip several years ago to Sukhothai and Phitsanulok at Loy Krathong time where my guide friend arranged a driver and car for our trip. It was a really nice experience. They have a great parade and pageant at the Sukhothai ruins for Loy Krathong. He also arranged a trip to Khao Yai NP for me another time. I think my friend has retired from guiding now to teach English in Saraburi or I would recommend him.

I did a 3 day/2 night Isaan tour many years ago that included Phimai and Phnom Rung. I feel like Phimai is really underrated. My trip was arranged through a travel agent which is no longer in business. But it was a nice trip. I had a guide and driver. We stayed in Khorat for the the overnights and did day trips out from there. I always felt like arranging a guide and driver was cheap enough to make it worth doing rather than dealing with trains and local transport. You might want to take a look at Paddy Doyle's YouTube channel. He recently finished visiting every province of Thailand on a moped. After completing the mission he posted several "best of" videos if you aren't interested in watching all of his travelogues. [He's touring Vietnam now] He shares info about lots of places I had never heard of. Depending how far afield you have already traveled you might consider places like Sukhothai and the many nearby national parks. I personally would like to spend some time up in the northern mountains some time. I did Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai long ago with visits to places like Doi Tung and Lampang and Lamphun.
