Yes, the backroom at Remington's was fantastic. Sadly the bar closed down several years ago. The real estate was too valuable so yet another luxury apartment tower was to replace it.

Haven't the shows been in place for a long time though - since before there were so many Asian women (especially) and men going to the bars? I agree that the boytisserie is enough show for me. With respect to the hotel question above I stayed a couple of times at the Aya (and also under it's original name...I think it was Fraser). But not recently. Last time I was there I felt like it had really gone downhill, but maybe it's had a rebound since then.

One issue you might run into with Airbnb is that with tourism picking back up finding a place in that exact building that is available for a full month or two might be a challenge. All it takes is some one having already booked for a few days to take that unit out of the running for your full month rental. When I booked the place I will be staying in I took a look at one of the rental sites and about 1/3 of the Ashton-Chula was available for rent or sale. A lot of those units probably have 1 year lease or maybe 6 month minimums. But with such a glut of units you might be able to work out something shorter.
