  1. I had a look at the maps, first impression positive. You should separate (different symbols) massage and sauna, they are completely different businesses. Comments for Silom/Sathorn map: There are several massages in Soi Sri Bam Pen, Nuat Thai Hiso advertises to gay market. In Silom Soi 6 and 8 there is Montara massage and Thai Best massage (both missing in map). Super A is missing. The place labelled as "Hotmale Station" (late night disco, same owner as Hotmale gogo and beer bar) used to be at the corner to Super A, closed last year, and last name was Baan Na บ้านนา as far as I know. The Green massage (Surawong, about in front of Tarntawan Place Hotel) is missing. Screw boys is slightly misplaced and Dream Boy is seriously misplaced (maybe googlemaps messes these up; I just notice they have Anuman Ratchathon and Silom Soi 7 in the wrong place). Mantra massage มันตรา is missing (often overlooked, small stairway leading up, Surawong opposite Montien hotel open food court. Fuse in basement of Wall Street tower is missing. Playboy massage is missing, so is the massage place in Silom 64 building (don't know the name), and the massage (I think J-J massage) in the dead end soi (Silom Soi 1?) all on Silom under/next to BTS. Comments for introduction text: I don't know Club 9 Cafe and Blue and See Men (there is one in Chiang Mai), but Singapore Pub is now Wave Club and Seek is gone. DoorDum only open on weekends last time I checked (some months ago)
  2. Sites that are blocked by Thai government direct to http://www.tcsd.info/home.php?go=1
  3. Do you remember the boy's number or name? The biggest cocks I have seen in real life from close are about 7 inch, and I'm still looking for the sometimes reported bigger cocks.
  4. ... or content to keep ripping off new customers who don't realise that the content is recycled Nice word play! I cannot access the site http://www.asian-ephebes.com/ (and no other link posted here leads to anything useful) ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access / on this server.
  5. First congratulation that your magazine is the only one out of four that is distributed widely and on time in all gay venues I monitor. Maps and updating businesses is a general problem, not only Out in Thailand has outdated (meaning: incorrect, wrong) information. I was going to email you anyway about some mistakes in the maps that immediately sprung to my eyes (because I have been to these places recently) in January 2015 print edition: Bangkok Ramkhamhaeng: See K Dance Club is no more, Singapore Pub changed name to Wave Club about half a year ago and is slightly misplaced in map, Troy sauna is no more, "De Ja Vu" change to "Deja Vu" and is slightly misplaced in map, Crusing sauna is listed but not marked in the map, "IMA Spa Liberty Garden Hotel" might be "9 The Nine Spa" (don't confuse with a place in Sukhumvit with a similar name). A general note on maps: places in Silom area can be found by following the map, but venues in Ramkhamhaeng area or Chiang Mai cannot be found because resolution is insufficient (but low density of the venues does not warrant higher resolution). Addresses in English and Thai would be more helpful (cf. Chiang Mai gay guide, all addresses to print out on 2 A4 pages). I'm sad to see Darika go.
  6. I noticed as well (Sun 18.01.2015) that Silom was night market and no car traffic, maybe this is a regular event now?
  7. z909: However, when this happens, I've often turned them down. That's either because they asked for almost double the going rate or more frequently because I doubted they were going to be good company. After all, those who are good company will be usually be tipped well, so most of them don't even raise the subject. That's a good point. Boys who negotiate do so because they got low tips in the past, because their performance was poor! I don't remember more than one particular case, but when a boy starts negotiations I am wary, from diffuse negative past experience.
  8. That would be a poor start. I know the boys wants as much money as possible in as little time as possible, but if a boy asked me how long exactly the short time will be, then I would send him back. Hasn't happened so far. I made a mistake a while ago in a massage: the boy was reticent to take his shirt off, then he asked me how much I would tip, agreed to 1000 Baht, then asked if I could tip 2000 (no!), then was reticent to take his pants off. I should have stopped and proceded with just massage. With more poor than good experiences with moneyboys, I am looking carefully for hints that I will not end happy, and if I have to enter detailed negotiations (started by the boy) about time and money, that is such a hint. How long I will keep the boy? Until I am done!
  9. I have heard or read that elsewhere, but have no personal experience. Is Thailand unique in that you pay per transaction, and not per hours used? I meant that I don't discuss short time or long time. If a boy will go with me for short time and asked me how long exactly, I would send him back to the stage, without tip, unless he is marriage material. For those interested: my short times are usually 1 h spent in the my room.
  10. A common occurrence, people love to talk about their pet peeves: tipping in restaurant and tipping boys, drink prices in bar and so on. I am not except from that, and will not refrain from repeating what I have said many times: I consider all these activities paid for by the employer and tip little if at all. Usually this issue does not arise as I mainly eat Thai street food where tipping is not customary. That does not meant the waiter/waitress should not have a decent income, but I think this should be paid by the employer and be included in the price on the menu. As a side note, I dislike it if someone pours me drinks.
  11. I never mention time, and unless boy asks I don't discuss tip. So technically the boy I off doesn't know how long I want him to stay with me and how much I will tip. But I guess I am an average demanding customer and average tipper. In the last two years, all over-nighters were the boy's choice. I can understand that a boy asks how much he will get, but I never had a boy ask how long it will take, and I would interpret this as a bad omen and unless he is a stunner reject him.
  12. Depends on Hotel. I went to see a friend in Tarntawan and had to leave my ID with security. In Malaysia, I just walk past reception, but locals will be stopped and have to tell them where they want to go, reception will call the room, and visitor will have to leave ID at reception. Even if they are repeat visitors to the same room. The new wing (house between parking and pool) has no reception, you can bring back whomever you want, nobody will stop you. The rooms have different sizes and layouts. A friend stayed there several times and I visited him several times, he prefers the room with the balcony that overlooks the parking. Usually front door and back door (to the pool) are closed (and locked), so I either have to go to reception (they will call him and send staff with key card to open door for me) or I call him and he throws me the key from balcony. But when you come back with a boy, you won't have this problem. And there is yet another building, north of the pool, which operates similar to the house between pool and parking. But to go there you have to parade through the open air part of the restaurant and along the pool; the gate which allows direct access from parking is closed most of the time.
  13. For me, that would be a negative. Carpet in hotel room is difficult to clean, and imagine what amount of dirt collects in the carpet after years or even decades of use. I prefer rooms with tiles. The Malaysia charges for WiFi and has 10% service charge on their menu, both a no-no for me (moot point as I have a room).
  14. Why not widen your choice? There are many other places to stay: S1 hostel, Thung Mahamek Privacy Hotel, Penguin guesthouse, The Blooms, The Boss Residence, and finally The Moon House has rooms for 450 Baht. I stayed in Ibis twice five years ago (about 1200 Bath per night), no problems bringing boys back. After that, I stayed in Penguin several times, rooms about 800 Baht per night.
  15. If anyone goes to Screw Boys, I would like to know if number 69 Dto from Kalasin is in (or even better: his phone number or Line or facebook).
  16. Sleeping with the boy (Tharnar, Tana - two short a - ทนะ, 19/50/175) was fine, activity in the morning as well. Showering together in the morning - not just sharing the shower, but washing each other. Lunch together, during which I enquire: he has been working in Screw Boys for 2 months (but I didn't notice him on two previous visits; but then the boy Dto I was looking for wasn't there on my two last visits). Tip him 2200 (which is very generous by my standards, based on long time tip 2000, that would be the third boy I tip over the going rate; only now do I learn that the going rate is 2500 for lt, will inquire next time). My highest tip ever and highest total cost (2200+550=2750). I have the boy's phone number and Line, so there might be repeats if we can come to a pre- or post work arrangement and a repeat customer discount (I have 1000 Baht for short time in mind).
  17. This month, a Swede hanged himself in 43rd floor of Sathorn Unique. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/447647/swede-found-dead-in-high-rise Says security guard takes 100 Baht from Thai persons and 200 Baht from Farang to let them in (double pricing, even here!). People keep going there: http://desertedplaces.blogspot.com/2014/02/sathorn-unique-bangkoks-ghost-skyscraper.html but that will probably come to a temporary halt now. Copy of a post I made on Thaivisa (some the data is slightly different from what I reported in this thread here, my memory). http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/782044-swedish-found-hanged-in-deserted-building/page-8 This is a weird story. Why would someone climb 43 floors to hang himself, in addition to the difficulties to get in? That's probably the last thing on a suicidal person's mind, but: he made it much more difficult for others to get in and for the owner to sell it. It's not that easy to get in, just pay 200/100 Baht at security (double pricing, even here!). I managed to get in April 2013, via the park house next to it and the makeshift bridge, with the help of a homeless person dwelling in the park house (technically a trespasser, same like me, but at least he lives there, I paid 300). In 2011-2013, I made several attempts to get in via the main entrance, with help of a Thai friend to translate, but either the gate was locked or I could just get up to about 3rd floor (locked door on the stairway up), after tipping a homeless person on the premises 100 Baht. It cost me a lot of money (400 Baht plus travel expenses) and time to get in, and I speak Thai (nobody there speaks English), I find it hard to believe that the deceased just walks by, pays, climbs up and doesn't come down. When I am in the area I will have a look if fence and gate look different than last time I went there.
  18. Thank you very much. It was a pleasure to meet you, and thanks for the invitation. A unique chance for other forum members to read about the same evening from two different points of view. Meet vinapu 18:35 at reception of Tarntawan Place. Then to Madrid Restaurant in Patpong (the western soi, on the western side, about 50 m north of Silom). I have eaten there before with other friends and was always happy with their pizza, now I had the chance to taste vinapu's fried chicken with cashew nuts and liked it as well. Great food in an unusual location and at reasonable prices! Some time to kill, stroll through Soi Twilight. Then to Nature Boys. 20:20 no boys in yet, but manager assures us they will be there in five minutes and wants to sell us a drink. We are not fooled! To Golden Cock (stay 20:25-21:05). 3 Customers and 6 boys, of which 2 in underwear and shirt and one shirtless (but trousers), 3 fully dressed. Wouldn't take any of them for free. Note at the wall: Happy Hour 2-8 pm all drinks 100 Baht except boy drinks. Music and light ok, aircon too cold, no smoking while we were there. Nature Boys (21:10-40). No customers, 4 boys: two cute ones fully clothed, two fat ones in underwear (Calvin Klein trunks yellow-green fluorescent) bare feet. One of the cute boys gets shirtless, then disappears behind the curtain, we are looking forward for him coming back in underwear, but no, he returns fully dressed. One of the boys smokes, and in that small room you can smell it strongly. Aircon, music, light ok. Continue to Screw Boys (21:50, I leave about 22:50, vinapu stays). I did not intend to go in, ask for Dto 69: not in today, but staff will call him and he will be there in 10-15 minutes. What I see on stage is promising, and it's an invitation, so I go in. Five minutes later staff tells me they can't reach Dto. But there are two other cute boys I haven't seen before: 67 and 89, and I would clearly take 55 and 26 for free. 89 smiles at me when I walk past him on the way to toilet and has a better body, but 67 has a cuter face. Now I am posed with the problem to compare their skin temperatures without buying a drink, and then finding a reason to get rid of them if they are too cold. But 89 goes to toilet, and I follow. He plays with is mobile phone and smiles at me, obviously he was waiting for me. We exchange a few words, warm and dry skin. I should do this more often (follow boy into toilet for a close look under white light and some words; actually I did in the past but the boy I targeted ignored me). A few minutes later, I call him over and take him off (550 Baht off fee for coyote boy, Tana from Burma, 19 years old). Taxi to my room, everything fine in bed. I have not seen a boy with that little pubic hair before (I will spare you pictorial evidence), which I like. A great catch. He shows no intention to leave during post-coital cuddling and just lying next to each other and hugging. I ask if he is tired and wants to stay over night: yes. I am writing this report while he is sleeping in my bed. Thank you, vinapu, for a great night out (after a poor start in Golden Cock and Nature Boys, but that's life!). During this meeting, I first shared my idea of dividing drink price by number of boys with someone else (vinapu). In Nature Boys, 150 Baht per drink divided by 3 boys (2 of them fat and one in jeans!) is 50 Baht per boy. In Screw Boys, 300 Baht per drink divided by 15 boys is 20 Baht per boy (many good looking ones, someone for every one). (Super A would be even cheaper, 100 Baht and 10 boys = 10 Baht per boy). Under the current circumstances (no underwear in Soi Twilight), Screw Boys is the only top notch bar with boys in underwear AND a good selection AND cheapest drinks. I paid three visits within the last two months and offed two boys, all visits/boys worth the money.
  19. There was indeed heavy rain yesterday night (Thursday 04.12.2014), and light rain a few days ago. While massage is not physically hard work, it it requires training (whereas rice farming or construction work does not require much training, I imagine). But not all boys who work in the shops I frequent have that training. I encountered boy are good at neither massage nor happy ending. Nonetheless, I tip 1000 for happy ending massage, but can see justification for 500 and am tempted sometimes (you know, I am a cheapskate). It's kind of unjust: my favorite massage boy (great body, good massage, good happy ending) gets 1000, and others who I take only once because they were reluctant to undress and let me touch them get 1000 as well. One boy I have seen a few times has limited massage skills (it quickly becomes repetitive, lying on the table and the same strokes over and over again), happy ending is ok, and a great body. Going to his shop again will bring the same as before (there is high potential, but we will fall into the same rut). He has no mobile phone (really!), otherwise I would order him to my room (I am sure he can sneak out from the shop in the afternoon when there are few customers, I'm not going to pay an off fee to the massage shop.).
  20. For me it's Bangkok, as I have a room here (no worries about booked out hotels or rates higher than usual). From negative experience (with other holidays) in the past I will stay in walking distance from my room. Traffic can be horrible. I have spent NYE in Bangkok and in Pattaya, not much difference. But I'm not a holiday (i.e. holiday celebration) person, I rather avoid the crowds. In Europe (no cute boys), I would stay at home; in Thailand I go out because I might meet my future boyfriend (or at least a fuck buddy).
  21. Depends on their interests: history, art, culture, architecture, weird places, animals? I for example have absolutely no interest in elephants, but like reptiles and butterflies. For me snake farm and butterfly garden (Rotfai park north of Chatuchak Park) would be interesting. I would advise against floating markets Damnoen Saduak and Amphawa, was there, utterly boring. Anyway I go to markets mainly for people watching, rarely by anything. Markets aimed at tourists have overpriced crap. A trip from Sathorn Pier to Nonthatburi is interesting (make sure you get a seat in the shade when you enter the boat) and cheap. For children, Dusit Zoo, Safari Park and Siam Park and other water parks might be interesting.
  22. There is a fetish bar BarBar in Patpong, the doorman has a wip. I only noticed it in walking past, but Bangkokbois blog has an (fictional?) article about it: http://bangkokbois-gay-thailand-blog.com/2014/08/29/the-boys-in-the-bar-12-a-slave-to-love/
  23. I was not even aware that there is still martial law in force. Current ban of boys in underwear in Soi Twilight gogo bars has a far greater impact on my life.
  24. There will be "Fusion Freshy Boy" (sic!) on 21., contest starting at 22:00 (info from Bangkok Desire November edition).
  25. I noticed several billboards with short time rooms for 300 Baht between second road and walking street. I guess there must be many in Jomtien as well, just walk around and look.
