  1. I sometimes have a foot massage (1 hour) after a day of walking or to observe coming and going in a massage place (to check if there are cute boys around for more next time). I wear shorts anyway in Thailand, food massage goes up to knees. If you wear long trousers, roll them up to your upper calves. Fott massage usually ends with head and shoulder massage. Beware of places that have no chairs for foot massage! I had such a case in Silom Soi 1, JJ massage, when it was Semra (?) some years ago. I was led to a massage room and lay on my back with legs at an angle. Not comfortable and nothing to see!
  2. Outcalls to hotel from massage or gogo? I advice against doing so, you will pay more and have limited choice and can't check in real life first. There are some massage places that offer outcall, but for a newcomer I recommend going to massage parlor.
  3. My passport was stolen on Songkran 2013 in Silom area. Subsequently I searched the web and asked around in Khao San for stolen passports (my idea was a rummage table with stolen passports, from which I could fish for mine and pay maybe 1000 Baht in case of success - I was wrong). There were some hints about availability of stolen passports, but money mentioned (in the range of 50,000 Baht, payable in advance) deterred me from following these hints.
  4. I wonder if the North Korean workers see any of the money they earn. I guess their government takes it and pays them in NK currency. There must be problems with people disappearing (i.e. they stay and work illegally in that country), however if construction site is far enough out in the desert or run like a prison, it's difficult to escape.
  5. Moon House (Sri Bam Pen opposite Ibis Hotel) has basic rooms from 450 Baht per night. At the end of Sri Bam Pen there is The Blooms, quite cheap as well. Monthly starts from 5000 as far as I remember.
  6. Taxi from Sathorn to South Pattaya starts at 1100 Baht including toll. Details on my blog: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2015/03/pattaya-feb-2015.html (one for BKK to PTY and another PTY to BKK). A friend had a day trip (PTY to German embassy to PTY) for 2000.
  7. Yes. Three times so far. These places are usually not found on the internet. I was looking for rooms in Sathorn area last year, all details here: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/05/looking-for-room-in-sathorn.html In your case, it would be imperative that the room comes with a refrigerator and WiFi (you would not want to buy a refrigerator and arrange a contract for internet - minimum duration 1 year - for a 3 month stay).
  8. Indeed, not that it is mentioned: Songkran 2013 I was living in Lak Si. Bus to Chatuchak was no problem, but at BTS I had to queue about 30 minutes to change notes to coins (beginner's mistake), and then another 30 minutes to buy a ticket, and then again at the gate, and at the train! ChristianPFC's Songkran advice: only walking (not taxi, bus, MRT, BTS)!
  9. No, only of the boy's face or boy in underwear. I'm interested in picture or video of fucking only if it involves others. Anyway, it would be difficult to fuck or get fucked and take a picture or video, unless you set up the camera on a tripod to get a better viewing angle.
  10. Book release party: A Guidebook to Offbeat Thailand Fellow blogger Chris Backe http://www.oneweirdglobe.com/places/thailand/ asked me to invite everyone I know to the release party https://www.facebook.com/events/848219675239517/ of his new book A Guidebook to Offbeat Thailand on Apr 4th at 8pm in Chomp (5 min walk from Khao San) (posted in similar form on my blog http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2015/04/book-review-guidebook-to-offbeat.html)
  11. Pizza Nando in Suan Phlu Soi 8. Went there three times with Farang friend, always good pizza, the last (Vegetarian 2) even "excellent" in my notes. Only water, beer, soft drinks; no fruit juice. Pizza Pala in Sukhumvit (ground floor, when you come from MRT and go to BTS) was good (only one visit so far). see here as well: http://bk.asia-city.com/restaurants/article/bangkoks-best-pizza What I'm still looking for is pizza with goat cheese that can match the pizza we had when I was working near Paris.
  12. There are some boys who are my type, however recently I inquired about prices (forgot numbers), and that made me retreat. Massage and tip payable in advance.
  13. I thinks he means boys who have many offs. If there is any bar that has boys on stage who are not available, let me know, I will go elsewhere!
  14. I don't count acting or singing or dancing as an achievement. I would be looking for scientists (I would approve of Marie Curie or Lise Meitner on a banknote), maybe politicians.
  15. Firecat is right, and I thank him for correcting me. I often confuse these three: unacceptable (English), inakzeptabel (German), inacceptable (French).
  16. Apart from those whose claim to fame is being a president's wife, I don't know any of the women mentioned in this thread. Let's face it, there are not that many women with outstanding political or scientific achievements.
  17. I don't go to the bars to drink, I go to look at the boys (and hopefully off one). No matter what the drink price, no matter how long I stay, I buy one drink. In Pattaya, bars with show have similar drink prices as bars with show. Separating cover price and drink price just obfuscates matters.
  18. delete double post
  19. LoveThailand: From street food to high end restaurants and everything in between - never had a bad meal there. I had very few bad meals, but that is out of thousands! My main complaint is tendons and bone splinters in Khao Pad Gai or Tom Kha Gai, inacceptable!
  20. All 3 bars in Soi 6 open last night
  21. If LMTU the Great was still with us, he could share stories! My activities are limited to checking out public toilets if they are on the way*, sometimes I spot someone else who is cruising, usually not. If I ever spot someone who is my type and interested, I would rather go to a room. *This month The Mall Bangkapi, Big C and Tesco Lotus On Nut, nothing.
  22. No need to apologize. One of the few coherent, informative and easy to read post you have written, and I didn't even spot a typo (but I wasn't looking). Thanks for the warnings (smoking, drugs - not that I need to be warned of these things, I mean the involvement of the police). I haven't been to Full Moon party, it's not exactly my area of interest (I don't drink, smoke, sing or dance), but if all stars align I might go some day. Regarding gay activities, there was an advert in Thai recently on a gay chatroom in camfrog, about a tour to Full Moon Party (sorry, didn't read the details).
  23. There is a scare monger at CFS (cruisingforsex). He seems to report places as closed on travelgayasia as well (I have been to several of those places, all still open!).
  24. How about "anal(ly) receptive"? Mr Barnes must find something wrong with accepting adverts from venues that sell sex. I'm fine with these adverts, I'm even finer with the fact that they sell sex. I am not supportive of the article in question, my position can be described "wondering about the motives and purpose of the article". I agree with the points he makes (but those points are no surprise), but find the way it is wrapped up weird.
  25. It's all true, reflects my multiple personal experience. I even know someone who drinks beer for breakfast and fits your article perfectly, but he does not participate in the forums. I know many gay tourists or expats who do not participate, not even read the forums. There is nothing wrong with taking adverts from venues that sell sex. I just checked the other gay magazines (Desire, Max, Thai Puan) and maps (GB guide and GM guide), they all do.
