When I go to gogo bars, I note down numbers of boys which are my type, but which I don't want to take now for various reasons, in order to come back later the same holiday or to know for my next holiday which bar has the highest number of cute boys. Unfortunately, by then many of then work somewhere else. Many other areas of life where I find it difficult to come to a decision, usually I'm overwhelmed by choice. For example buying toilet paper. There is an entire aile in the supermarked with dozens of different brands of toilet paper. The only way out is to buy the cheapest. Recently I bought a WLan card (10 EUR, about 420 THB) for my laptop on ebay, it took me weeks to come to a decision and I sped probably two hours spread over many days until I finally settled for a model because there is an overwhelming choice and I have no previous experience with WLan. Fortunately, I have no problems what to wear for the day or ight. I just grab into my cupboard and take what's on top. This seems to be a favorite problem for women: cupboards full of clothes and yet nothing to wear.

I had a look inside, even sat down and made a choice of massage and masseur. But then the manager told me that expected minimum tip for 1,5h massage (my choice) is 1500 THB and for 2h massage 2000 THB, in addition to 700 THB for 1,5h massage (don't remember which kind of massage I wanted) I quickly calculated that this will be fare more expensive than I had thought and excused myself. The major problem was rather that none of the masseurs was really my type, otherwise I would have stayed and paid. So I can't say anything about their rooms or quality of massage.

I do prefer Pattaya more and more. On each holiday, I stop in Bangkok (as this is where my holidays begin end end) for some days and go to Pattaya for some days. Pattaya has a higher density of available boys than Bangkok, the prices (hotel, drinks) are cheaper, there is less felt air pollution (I have no numbers and no health problems, but the sheer number of cars, people and cooking with open fire in Bangkok must create air pollution). Bangkok has a larger choice of day time activities, but there is enough to see around Pattaya as well. Samui (visited once) and Chiang Mai (visited once) dont't have enough choice of boys in bar (I'm very picky), but with a boyfriend it would be fine.

I prefer Chakran over Babylon. It's similar in size, but there are more Asians. On every visit, I saw at least one I liked, but this was rarely mutual. There is a massage palour (V-Club) in the same building, which has a large choice (I think there were more than 30 masseurs available, all in street clothes). It's not that far away from the Silom area. From BTS Aree about 10 minutes by foot to the sauna. If you go by taxi, I guess about 30 min from Silom area.

I always round up to the next ten Baht. I don't tip extra during slow traffic or heavy rain, there is a counter for time spend standing (or driving slower than 5 km/h if I remember correclty), so this is already included in the fare. I never accept "flat fares". So far, I had no problems with a driver not finding my destination. When alone, I often take a bus, when with a friend we almost always take a taxi. Tuk-tuk or motorcycle only in rare cases (as they cost as much as a taxi and I hate negotiating the fare).

Our tastes may differ, but I find the underwear boys wear in bars where they can wear what they want much more attractive than when the underwear is provided by the bar. I fully agree with gaybutton: let the boys wear the underwear they like!

I was there I think twice, and I agree with Michael: I don't get their business model: I saw cute boys in the massage parlor on street level, but only when they were entering or leaving. And there were no prices displayed last time I was there. Do they want me as a customer to inquire prices and ASK to see the boys? Furthermore, as I was lingering around unsure what to do, an older Thai man (the manager?) who obviously belonged to the business approached me and asked what I was waiting for and told me to go away. But despite these experiences, I think there are some talents, and what I read here is promising, so Super A is on top of my list of bars to visit when I'm back.

Which would make smoking un-affordable for the broad public. The impact of smoking-related diseases and accidents caused under the influence of alcohol are huge. In my opinion, there are two kinds of people who support smoking: those who are addicted and those who are involved in the tobacco industry. The addicted are not to blame, as they are addicted. The lobbyists are to blame. Unfortunately, the non-smokers have no lobby. If one could stop children/teenagers from starting to smoke, smoking would slowly die out (as I can't imagine that any sane adult who did not smoke before starts smoking)

I salute the these plans as a first step to a drug-free world. Not if they harm their and other's health and cause discomfort to others! I'm pretty sure those involved in the war on drugs are just not really interested in ending drug abuse and stricter enforcement and more severe sentences are necessary. But maybe I'm wrong, as even in countries with death sentence, drugs are availabe. I like to compare the fight against smoking with the eradication of smallpox or the abolition of slavery or the end of witch hunt. I takes one great worldwide effort and once it's over, it's over. The smallpox virus is eradicated and won't come back. No sane person would suggest to put someone else into slavery or that someone else is a witch. In a few hundred years, when smoking will be abolished (I hope so, unfortunately I think I won't live long enough to witness it), people will wonder why at our time people inhaled fumes of glowing dried plants, as we now look back to times where people were superstitious and wonder why they believed e.g. in witches.

I once was around the Grand Palace in the afternoon (4-5 pm), when I saw groups of young soldiers walking home (probably from ministry of defence which is close). But where to find available boys, in uniform - I don't know, but I'm interested!

I distinguis between chili-spicy and ginger-spicy. I don't like (chili) spicy food, so don't order food that is marked as "spicy" in the menu. Once I was eating with friends and they ordered spicy (ginger) chicken coconut soup (if I remember correctly), which I liked very much, but would never have ordered as it is "spicy", but ginger and not chili!

I don't set much value on the dancing in the bars. More important are what the boys look like. If he can dance that's better than just standing around, but not necessary. If you want to see dancing, go into a ballet!

I think there are a few gogo bars that don't allow smoking. So it is not inevitable. If I remember correctly, Krazy Dragon is one of them, and there are a few in Bkk as well (I have to check before my next holiday, as a non-smoker I prefer to spend time in bars with no smoke and therefore these will be high on my list). So it is possible to run a bar and not allowing to smoke inside! (Contrary to what bar-owners say: they will lose customers) I think not providing ashtrays is a good hint to smokers, however I witnessed in one bar a guest lighting a cigarette first and then asking for an ashtray (I was wondering if he was going to let the ash fall down to the floor).

I used a laundry in Soi Sri Bum Pen (not far from the Malaysia hotel) and the prices were reasonable (I paid about 200 THB for "a bag full of worn clothes" - I can't specify any further, as I didn't weigh or count it, I just collected the clothes in a bag and handed it over). I think it was charged per piece, yes, there was a paper with numbers and a sum when I came to pick it up. I wonder how they manage to remember without receipt which clothes belong to whom. In a few rare cases, similar looking pieces where confused with those from other customers, now I have a pair of sock und a piece of underwear that look similar to mine, but belonged to someone else. The underwear is a Thai brand, so I hope it belonged to a cute Thai boy and I wear it. Price comparison to Europe: Where I now live I have to pay 4 EUR (~180 THB) for using the washing machine per load.

I got ciprofloxacin when I had diarrhoea, and it worked really well. I checked on wikipedia: It's a Drug of last resort. In Germany, it is only awailable on prescpription, in Thailand I witnessed it was sold over the counter to a 16-year-old boy at 1 a.m., who took it as a precaution.

Found some nice pictures. While I was studying in England, I went to a disco for international students, and there were some stunning from China. Via facebook, I found their profiles (they were tagged in photos from friend's friends), and had access to plenty of photos.
